Texas Chainsaw Massacre was one of those movies that scared u before u saw it; scared u shitless from hearing others describe it. TCM was the holy grail for me growing up. Before I had even seen it I knew it was gonna be the movie to define my horror appeal. And boy did it deliver. Obviously, it had everything as stated ^above^. But what it had different? The chainsaw. A weapon that u could actually hear and smell before ever seeing or having it plunged into u. And the villain? Somebody who looked like all his victims before u, literally. Face and all. This movie was just FUCKED UP! It was real, and totally GRITTY. And bloody. It started the fears of hicks and hill Billy cannibals. Personally, my favorite scene(besides the meat hook) was when u first see LF and he takes out dude wit a fucking sledgehammer. And as his leg starts twitching and convulsing, he gets cracked again and dragged further into the house. That scene is burned in my mind |

I still can't get over the fact a chainsaw massacre has one chainsaw kill lol! The film is <3 though, but I honestly prefer the remake and it's prequel =U |

Lol, well it WAS originally going to be called Headcheese right? (i hate that name though, tbh). Also wasn't the truck driver also killed by a chainsaw? I think though that it does relate to real massacre/serial killings. The most strange/outrageous part of the massacre often gets most publicized, lol. |

No and no lol. The truck driver LIVED. Also, it wasn't based on a real massacre. TCM=Loosely based on Ed Gein. None of the characters or anything are based on real people. It's as real as Wolf Creek |

I know that, lol. I meant that the whole advertising was saying "BASED ON A TRUE STORY" etc. I'm just saying that in that sense, if it were a real massacre, it's possible and very likely it'd end up known as what the title is. lol |

Not really.... This wasn't a chainsaw massacre. Technically, it wasn't even a massacre. 4 deaths does not a massacre make |

Well idk how many makes it a true 'massacre'. (I know that serial killing has to have 2-3 or more killings to be considered serial murder). Still, technically speaking the media probably WOULD take the chainsaw aspect and use that to identify the killings. (though it probably wouldn't be called 'massacre' as you said, lol). An example is the lipstick killer, known for writing a message on the wall saying "For heaven's sake catch me, before I kill more I cannot control myself" and he became known as "the lipstick killer" when he only wrote a message in lipstick ONCE. xD

Except that's a distinguishing aspect. A killer who uses a chainsaw for ONE KILL is not distinguishing |

How is it not distinguishing though? Also he used the chainsaw for a large amount of chasing as well. (Not to mention since Sally survived and she told what she witnessed Franklin being killed by, it's something that would really stick imo.) Lol, I think it's just me defending the name because it's such an Iconic name now, XD |
