EUR - Rome, Italy Abstergo Facility 10:48 PM All of the facility had grown quiet, the evening shift employees relegated to their cubicles had fallen into their routine behind closed doors; leaving the corridors empty and quiet, save for the occasional whir of the security cameras as they pivoted. The front entrance had been locked up tight by the security officers who patrolled each floor diligently, their flashlights scanning over every shrouded corner within the modern-industrial edifice. The only way in and out of the facility for authorized personnel was through the underground parking lot that was accessed from the street after bypassing a stationed guard and then swiping a keycard through the elevator's locking mechanism. The traffic to and from the building through that channel was carefully monitored and was the most likely point of infiltration and escape, assuring whoever might entertain such notions that they would be confronted. Traveling skyward, the outer portion of the building is constructed from reinforced steel and glass all the way up to the roof, which is patrolled but is otherwise unmonitored. The first three floors of the facility are designated for low level security employees; those left unaware of Abstergo's true purpose. There are meeting rooms, research wings for the pharmaceutical division, resource management offices. The next several levels after those are delegated to those responsible for keeping the Akashic Satellite Plexus in check and security is even tighter. Beyond even that is the start of the laboratories, which spans a total of seven floors. Two floors are dedicated to the Animi Training Program, a Templar initiative that has been adopted by many other facilities around the globe. It is empty during the evening but still patrolled and watched. There are private rooms for more exclusive subjects, such as Desmond Miles and Subject 16, above. This is also where Alexa Harper is kept under constant guard, two Templars of express skill situated outside of her resting place at all times. Within the room she inhabits is an advanced form of the Animus; advanced, specifically, to monitor brain activity, vital signs, physical responses, and record anything she experiences through her days and nights. She lays motionless, clad in a hospital style gown and covered by several blankets. She is left alone throughout the evening, unless the animus or health monitors indicate anything of note. Without the Animus, her rate of survival declines by the minute and anything longer than an hour could prove to be fatal. It is unknown to the Templars that the Assassins have become aware of the woman that lies dormant, unwittingly leading them to Pieces of Eden hidden within the memories of her ancestors. Alexa is even less aware of what transpires beyond Animus Island and the experiences she is forced to relive. |

“You ever done this before?” He affixed glasses over his eyes, to keep the biting cold from preventing them from staying open. “It’s sort like riding a bike.” He tightened the straps of his chute. “Only their’s no bike.” He grabbed the door of the small plane, throwing it open. Cool air immediately rushed in, his thermal suit just barely containing his warmth. “Two chutes. We’re gonna pop the main one to slow our descent, cut it and free fall a bit longer, and use the secondary when we get close.” Otherwise, their descent would be too slow and obvious. “Best hope someone did a good job of packing yours.” Normally the emergency was for just that, emergencies, but breaking into Abstergo labs required them to go against the grain. Throwing a thumbs up to Alex, he tucked his chin down, grabbed his straps and leaned out the door. His body twisted with only the slightest movements of his arms, turning himself over. His arms and legs spread out, adjusting to control his target. He’d studied the overlay map of the Abstergo building well, knew easily which one it was. He dared to cut his eyes over to Alex, throwing him another thumbs up to make sure he was alright, before focusing on the target below. The building loomed closer, not directly below him but just northwest. He tugged the first cord, and his chute ripped open and yanked him upwards. As he descended, he guided himself in an arc towards the building, putting him on the right path. When the first bullet tore through his chute from the rooftop sentries, he quickly pulled out his pistol and took aim to bring him down. Another bullet, and he cut the cords on his primary chute. He spread out again to catch the wind as he descended, counted a handful of seconds, before yanking the cord again. His pistol snapped out of his hand, lost to the streets below but hardly worried about. His hands reached up to take hold of the straps dangling from the chute and guide it in. Bullets tore apart the chute and he was sure he was going right over the edge, but a quick pull on the left side turned his chute and brought his feet into the chest of a security guard just as he cut those cords. He rolled off to the side and the security guard landed on his back. He went right for him, freeing the cords once again and diving onto the Abstergo agent. His right hand emerged with a hidden blade pointed for the man’s face, caught just shy. He pressed, and the both vyed for control, seconds before he could have his arms pushed off course he triggered the second spring coil, firing the blade right off the gauntlet and into his throat. He quickly divested him of both his pistol and stun rod, before looking over towards Alex. |

"Nope, but there's a first time for everything," Alex laughed, double checking his equipment, "And I packed it myself, mate, if I'm going to fall to my death because someone cocked up, it better have been me!" Returning the thumbs up, the younger Assassin stood up, making his way to the exit that Liam had just thrown himself out of. Following shortly behind, Alex threw himself out into the freezing night, feeling the cold wind burning the exposed skin on his face as he plumetted down toward the city. It was a surreal experience to be sure, filling him with a sense of insignificance compared to the earth below them. It was almost like whenever he looked up at the stars, except the bright lights were below him now and rapidly approaching. Glancing over just in time to see Liam giving him another thumbs up, he returned the gesture once more and pulled the first cord. Hearing bullets begin to pass by him, he didn't leave it long before cutting himself free of the first chute and dropping into freefall once again. Alex cursed as a bullet grazed his outstretched left arm, although luckily it only caught the vambrace which held one of his hidden blades in place. Deploying his second chute, his pace slowed again with a violent lurch before he swooped down toward the rooftop. He was in much better firing range now for the guards on the roof, so he pulled hard on the chute's vent cable, allowing him to drop lower and quicker. As his body came level with the edge of the building he released himself from the harness, dropping down toward one of the guards. Landing on top of the Abstergo employee, Alex heard the impact knocking the wind out of him. Drawing his long, slightly curved knife from his belt, the Assassin slit the man's throat and set off at a run toward the next, who was now approaching with stun baton raised high. Ducking below the attack, Alex brought his weapon around and jabbed it between his attacker's shoulder blades, letting him slump to the ground. Wiping his blade clean on the trouser leg of the man he had just killed, he returned it to it's sheath. By the time Alex stood up again and removed the glasses that had saved him some serious discomfort on the flight down, Liam had already dispatched his opponants and was waiting. Pulling his silenced pistol from the holster on his thigh, he motioned toward the door to the stairwell and advanced, weapon raised. No sooner had he done so, the door was flung open by another Abstergo guard, no doubt summoned by the commotion only to be put down by a single shot to the face. "Let's hope none of 'em thought to raise the alarm..." He said quietly, grinning slightly as he looked over to his fellow Assassin, "Lead the way." |

“My sentiments exactly.” He holstered the pistol, retrieved a replacement blade for his wrist, slipping it into place and locking it where it needed to be. The other he left imbedded in the throat of his victim, taking the time to instead steal the Abstergo Industries cap from his head. He slipped it on, bending the bill to overshadow his face a bit, then went over towards Alex and tossed him one. Their outifts didn’t exactly match securities, but his at least was black enough to resemble in passing glance. Lastly, he took up a radio and clipped it to his belt, for the sake of monitoring communications. “What do you figure their report tag was?” He glanced to Alex, curious what report they would need to pay attention to. “Or should we just guess we’ve been figured when no one responds.” He checked his weapons one last time, then moved towards the door. “Get my back. I’m going to enter naturally, like I belong, for the sake of security cameras but if I see something I don’t like, I’m going left. You go right.” As he spoke, he removed the pack that contained only wires from his recent parachuting, lightning his load a bit. Slipping an ear piece into place, he spoke before entering through the roof into Abstergo Industries. “Eagle’s in.” |

"Doesn't exactly go with my outfit..." The young Englishman said sarcastically as he dropped his hood and placed the cap upon his head. Closing his eyes for a moment, he unlocked the Assassin's ancestral gift of Eagle Vision within his mind. When he reopened them, Liam's form appeared in blue, the corpses of the Abstergo guards a fading red. It would certainly help navigating the complex if he could see any points of interest. "I have no idea, mate, let's go with the no response equals figured idea," Alex said, making a note of how many rounds he had left in his pistol, "I'm gonna keep my pack in case we see anything useful on the way out. Never know what Abstergo has lying around." Crossing to the doorway and standing to one side with his back against the wall, Alex held his pistol ready and nodded as Liam explained his plan. His own earpiece picked up the communication from his fellow assassin and caused him to smile. "Copy." Walking in casually, he closed the door behind him. It would look odd on the cameras if he left it wide open, after all. Catching up with Liam, he spoke quietly once more. "I reckon we've got about five minutes before they realize something's up. I'll head to the security centres for the floor above the target and the one below and set up a few traps. Should give us a bit more time." |

Assassin's... All they do is kill and take what doesnt belong to them. They dont know what it is they're stealing and they certainly dont stop to ask questions before killing those in their way. With all their talk about 'protecting the will of people', you would think they realized by now that mankind is inheriantly violent. Too much of something, such as say free will, is a plague that leads to more wars and death. They dont stop to look at the long term. They only care about themselves in the moment and that is exactly why Abstergo had already prepared for their arrival. A lack of vision and foresight. Through their own spy network, the Templars had gotten wind of a plan to steal the women above. The only problem was that they didnt know when it was to happen. Not wanting to scare the would be thieves off, the higher ups decided not to raise the security levels. Instead they called Sebastian. Sebastian Al'Meera was not an overly imposing figure. He stood around six feet and was a generally slender man upon first glance. However Al'Meera generally wore a suit which tended to hide the lean muscle that had been honed through years of service to the Order. He had been apart of the Templar Order since he was a young boy, orphaned on the streets of New York with an englsh accent to make things worse. They had found him and taken him in with open arms. He did not go through the Animus training like many of the other recruits did. His training was all natural. His instincts were his own, his skills had been perfected by his hands only, and his mind sharpened by his thoughts. Sebastian had become a force to be reckoned with. The Templar hated violence though. He had seen to much of it. He hated that he was capable of commiting suh heinous acts himself, but if it came down to it, Sebastian would take the lives of the Assassin's who were making their way to him. He sat cross legged in a chair in front of the girl in the Animus, facing the only entrance into the room. Sebastian had had the rest of the guards called off. There was no need for a bloodbath. Besides, most of those guards had families and six wives had already lost their husbands. They would find it pretty easy to out manuever the remaining guards patrolling the endless corridors. Eventually he Assassin's would find their way here. And it is here where Sebastian will be waiting. |

“Groundhog, getting in position.” The call came over their earpiece, their exfiltration team was moving into position to prepare to take them out. The van would come equipped with a fully functioning Animus, to shelter the woman’s mind if it was unprepared to leave it. “Copy.” He replied as Alex had to him. He moved towards the elevator as naturally as he could, and entered it alone, with Alex set off to take care of his own task. “Gonna scope out the floor, won’t be making a move til you’re set though.” Within the elevator he keyed the floor approximately 3 levels lower than his target. During the descent, he scrambled out of the emergency hatch above. His hands moved out to the sides for balance and in preparation as the elevator descended down the shaft. In his mind he ticked off the floors, until finally he caught the lip of the one he was aiming for. Pulling himself from a hanging position, he reached a leg over to a strut running across the shaft and pulled himself up further onto the narrow edge. Easing around, he reached a hand over and pulled at the doors to crack them slightly and peer through the gap. Empty, from the looks of things. “How’s things on your end? I’m in position to infiltrate the floor.” |
