Finnaly Finished my Custom Pc Gone from my shitty laptop which runs MC at 25fps to my new pc running at 1468fps,

The Specs

Cooler Master Storm Series Trooper case
Gigabyte GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) Motherboard
2nd gen intel i7 2600k Processor
MSI GeForce GTX 560 1024MB GDDR5 Graphics
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) (max 32gb)
Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 64MB Cache Hard Disk
Samsung 22x Re-writer, Pioneer 12x Blu Ray Re-writer
Corsair TX 850w
Windows 7 ultimate 64x

so altogether around the £850 mark ($1320) Months of saving made worthwhile

That's a beast setup, you've surpassed the server itself for awesome specs :)

The only bottleneck you'd find (and that would be with a I/O intensive app) is the hard drive. Solid State drives make a world of difference if you have the OS loaded on one.

That is indeed a sick setup, did you allot MC with more RAM? I myself get around 100fps, 1000 is impressive, lol. My own specs are in my signature below if you'd like to take a look. I got my shizniz not too long ago, probably around Sept. - Nov. Looks like prices went down, I paid around $1300 as well. :P

Usually when you buy a SSD, you only use it for applications, and 120GB is more than enough for a multitude of games, though with the OS on their, the amount of space for applications is somewhat lower. I don't know exactly how much space windows takes up, so I couldn't tell you. You'd then use that 2TB drive to store all your videos, photos, etc.

I'd still wait a few years for SSDs to become more cost-effective. They're worth it to get 'em, however they're pretty expensive.

That's a nice set up, i only get around 100-200FPS on minecraft on mine however i build my rig about a full year before ferg build his. I've never had the luxury of using a SSD however from all accounts they are very fast. And about the OS space, i split my 1tb harddrive into 3 drives and gave 60GB to my OS and other essential things such as drivers etc. and that seems to work
Come to think of it, i seem to have gotton my stuff at a bad time, i spent 1600 euros on it XD however it was worth the 2 year save up

Nice setup

Win7 install an be anywhere from 14/15gb to 30/35gb

So will games run better if installed to SSD or Just the OS
