My shitty day :D Broken leg and Dislocated Shoulder

coming home from work at 6:30 on my bike since i couldn't get my car started yesterday. Following a car home coming up to a roundabout going about 30mph roads are empty, I expected the car to just go around the roundabout since it was clear to see no-one was coming on the roundabout from the right but ohhnoo! she done a full on emergency stop in -9c icy roads, so in-turn i braked my ABS kicked in but my rear end went sideyways but i wasn't stopping fast enough so i had to bin in it on the verge but ended up hitting a kerb and low siding (sliding along the ground bike on top) and hard frozen grass isn't that soft, so i finally came to a stop with a leg that wasnt quite facing the right way, sore arm and a bike in the bushes. but the lady did stop and call a ambulance and top shit off they couldn't get my leather trousers off so the fuckers cut them off, boom £250 leathers recked

So a broken leg, a need for new leathers & helmet and a bike with enough sticks to start a small bonfire ends my case, luckily my baby has only cosmetic damage

but its more my fault since i was following the car quite close and fast but why do old people either 2mph everywhere or so irrational there a accident waiting to happen. at least i get a few weeks off work bring on BF3. and she did phone the hospital to see how i was doing and even offered to give me a lift home

now behold my paint skills
Spoiler: click to toggle

btw i like my no-claims and my bike too much to hit the car since the crash is legally all my fault even though she stopped dangerously for no reason

no need to be sorry for me it was my fault after 5years on a bike i shouldn't have been that close in cold conditions but you just get more retarded the more you ride trying to dodge cars that think your invisible, pulling moves that arn't even imaginable in a car and purposely jumping lights and breaking speed limits just so ya can go home and not end up road kill, but hey ho i love biking the adrenaline rush is worth it

That sucks man, glad you're ok though!

Roundabouts are tricky bitches, after living in Euro for 4 years I love 'em, and they are efficient, but I'll be damned if Maryland hasn't introduced them, one right outside my street. It's amazing that most American's are completely baffled by them. At least once a week I'll have someone come to a complete halt inside the circle, to allow a car in. Always an older person, always with the same absolutely confused/terrified look.

lol luckily here they hammer into you always give to your right never your left so the run quite smooth but old people forget simple rules, they should have to re-sit driving tests at 60/65 if they want to carry on since rules/regulations change alot after 40+ years since they sat their test

Star, those pants are probably specific to motorcycle riders, padded leather to help prevent road rash/burns in the case of an accident.

Exactly even the cheap leathers are £50-60 but if you buy cheap you get cheap. Its like me saying change your airbags with bubble wrap cause its cheaper but its useless

Biking Gear aint Cheap
Gloves; £60/80
Boots; £150
Leathers Full set ; cheap=£200/£300 Good Quality=£500/£600
Helmet; anywhere from £80 to £300

but my skin is worth alot more to me than spread along the road

ROAD RASH AINT PRETTY
