I unknowingly trained myself to unlock my phone and go into my alarm settings and turn off my alarm. I need a new idea for making myself wake up.

GO!

A simple solution, just leave your alarm across the room so you must get out of bed to turn it off. Or get a wife, and have her kick and shake you every morning..

change your lock code if you can. set it across the room and set 3 alarms or so. it'll work for a few month till you get used to it again. lol

After all of these years of having to suddenly wake up to that fucking beeping, whenever i hear something similar during the day i kind of "wet myself". I have no idea why.....but i just DO NOT like the sound of waking up to the beep!

I set my clock 20 minutes early, so when I'm still half asleep and check the clock I freak out thinking I'm running late. Works every time.

lol, funny you should mention that. because i actually set my alarm like 15 minutes before i actually wake up because when it goes off it gives me and my body the satisfaction of sleeping in another 15 minutes!! woot!

Back when I travelled a lot for work, multiple time zones and such, we had a small seminar on proper sleep techniques, how to readjust fast, avoid jet lag, general sleep tips.

1. Your bedroom is for sleeping only (and sexytime) I realize younger kids have no choices, and their Xbox/PC is in there, but you train your boudy to think about that room as the place you sleep and that is it.

2. When you wake up is far more important than when you go to sleep. Your internal clock can adjust itself to the rhythms and you'll generally be in a low REM sleep around the same time each morning, so keep getting up.

3. Snooze is the devil. If you know you are going to snooze, just set the clock 15 minutes later and GET THE FUCK UP. The sleep you get is more refreshing as it's concurrent REM sleep, vs waking up/dozing, never hitting that good REM cycle again. The psychological "perk" you think you get from cheating the alarm isn't as long lasting as the actual decent sleep you get in those 15 min.

I myself, set multiple alarms (one on my actual alarm, one on my tablet, one on my phone) in different portions of the bedroom, in 5 minute staggered intervals. I wake up and know that even if I want to hit snooze it's pointless, by the time I adjust all the clocks I'm wide awake so I just get up :)

Hope these help.
