First off, they do exist. We just haven't made contact with any yet, but with more than trillions of solar systems, the chances are highly likely that there are more than one inhabitable planets out there. However, you could say things like: - We haven't met them - The conditions for life are very rare and Earth could just have been in the right place at the right time - No proof to say they exist (albeit there's no proof to say they don't) - Cheese |

Aliens do exist, they were destroyed by a virus on a thumb drive, uploaded from a Mac, obv. Thanks, Will Smith! Sorry, I have no serious response to this. I assume the likelihood that aliens exist is rather high. Our planet hasn't mapped out all of our own oceans. We also haven't had a man get past the moon in space distance (to my knowledge), and are still discovering new species of creatures in our own backyard, I don't have a lot of confidence that we have a handle on the rest of the universe. |

Ferg, I believe in extra terrestrials. Also, I have all your points already. ![]() I need solid argueable points such as Some skeptics speculate that not all atmospheres on planets are the same, even if they can support life. Wouldn't our atmosphere be toxic to them? That's just one part of my paper. |

Also, here is my intro. Just for more insight ![]() If you ask me if extraterrestrials exist I would tell you that indeed they do exist. There are estimated to be around one hundred billion galaxies. Of these one hundred billion galaxies, each galaxy has around a couple hundred million stars. Out of these couple hundred million stars there are a predicted one hundred thousand planets that could support life around them. If you do the math that would be 1x10^23 or one septillion planets that could support life. Of course a more realistic person could say, “how do you know these planets are out there if we can't actually see them?” While that is a fact, all that science can provide in this is speculation. The conditions for life can be completely different for other life forms. You can't tell me that there might be life in some galaxy far away that breathes nitrogen instead of oxygen. Look at plants, they breath carbon dioxide. And expell oxygen. I'm sure there is life out there somewhere that are intelligent and do not need the same conditions as we do to live. |

I'm going to have to agree with Boondock on that one. Seriously are some people so narrow minded to think that things have to have exactly the same things with need to survive, thrive, and exist like we do? Hell aren't we considered extraterrestrials to the other possible lifeforms in the other galaxies? |

why would they stay away from us? For all we know they could come to our planet, Rid it of resources and Move on... Or we could learn a great deal from them and vice versa |

Aliens will look and see us fighting over little pieces of paper and imaginary friends. They'll think we're all completely crazy. And all the crap we've done throughout our history. They could be watching us right now and laughing, we could be like a sitcom to them....i need to stop now lol. |

I heard someone say that our planet is probably the Alabama of the universe. XD Also Star, we are incapable of progressing this far unless we evolve past war. |

Or they could be the exact same way. If you're like my father, you think they're already here and there are something like 22 different species of aliens overseeing us. Conspiracies as to why we aren't landing men on the moon and all that jazz. The only kind of thought I put towards extraterrestrial life is that they are probably out there, but that has nothing to do with me at this point so I don't really care. |

They do exist. The universe is as expansive as my appetite. It's pretty big. To think we're alone is almost conceited sounding. Chances are, they are clever little twigs of nerve and frame such as ourselves, and chances are they are wondering what we had for breakfast today too. |

i just hate how people who look for life on other planets look for the conditions we have here on earth. yes, liquid water is important. TO US. they have found life in the most "nonlifey" areas on earth, including 6 miles down in the ground, at the very bottom of the ocean with no light at all, and so many more places where humans would have no chance to survive. life on other planets is 100% possible, and i honestly do not have a single doubt that at least 1 other type of life outside of earth has at least visited here 1 time and has never been back since. we may be at the top of the food chain and rule this planet, but humans still fight over nonsense. |

What if there's a planet that has atmosphere similar to cigarette smoke and our "air" would give them cancer.
