Just going to comment on some of the major parts in this build, CPU: AMD FX 4100 AM3+ - Good CPU. My friend has this, or one similar, and it seems like it can handle quite a few things running at the same time, no problem. Though there are better ones out there than this. Intel CPUs have better performance, but they are more expensive. Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz - You might want to look at upgrading to 16GB. RAM is very cheap, and it'll only cost maybe another $25-$50 to get another 8GB. Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB - This should be able to handle games like BF3 max graphics without too many hiccups, however if you plan on using Fraps to record your videos, or even stream some gameplay of the more graphically intensive games out there, you might see your frames drop below 30fps. Case: Xigmatek Asgard + 400W Xigmatek PSU - If this is your case, then it might be a little small if you ever plan on adding a second graphics card, or adding more things inside, however the chances of that aren't high. - As well, 400W is not going to be enough IF you ever want a second graphics card, so you're going to have to upgrade your power supply if you intend to do so. However it's fine for the current setup. |

Lemme fix that for you ![]() CPU: AMD FX 6100 AM3+ (6 core processor, try and get the 3.4GHZ one (Don't try playing Entropia Universe (If so I can tell you how to do it))) Operating System: MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (This is needed unless you have your old HDD you can throw into your new computer) Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 (This motherboard checks out. It supports AMD 3+ so you're good on that (Note: always make sure the motherboard supports the processor)) Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz (Try and get 1600Mhz RAM, it's better for gaming) Hard Drives: 1TB S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s (This is perfectly acceptable, you'll probably have room to upgrade to a 2nd HDD in the future if you run out of room) Optical Drive: 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB (You can go for the GTX 560ti it's what I have in my computer, I approve of it (Either that or you can go to a GTX 570 or a GTX 670)) Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio Case: Xigmatek Asgard + 400W Xigmatek PSU (You don't need a case that comes with a power supply I'll link you a good one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066&cm_sp=Cat_Computer_Cases-_-Spotlight-_-11-129-066 it's on sale for 4th of July (Try and go for a 600W or better, no use under powering your rig and losing out on precious kiloflops of data)))Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Warranty (The warranty is completely up to you, I prefer not getting one because I can diagnose most problems myself, but it's good to get one if you need it (Note: most problems with computer parts are from shipping problems or happen within 3 months after first time use because of operator error)) This build shouldn't be much more than your current plan in the OP, unless you go for the GTX 570 or the GTX 670. Glad I could help. Edited by Re3st1mat3d, Jul 4 2012, 05:18 PM.
