Well, hello there.
The summer has been here for a few weeks now and ofcourse you'll get bored sometimes.
So my question to you guys is: What are movies I NEED TO WATCH?

I am asking this because many people have laughed at me because I haven't seen certain movies almost everyone has seen
like:
- The Lion King
- Bambi
- Titanic (I am not going to watch it either)
- All Lord Of The Rings movies.
And many... many more.

So if you guys could give me a list of your 'must watch' movies
I will get started on it asap!
Thanks and don't leave any good ones out!

-Craft,

btw, I just said movies like The Lion King and Bambi because those are movies people say I need to watch, but movies of other genres are also welcome, actually every genre is welcome I'll just check the trailers and IMDB that stuff.

But here's a few of my favourites;

-How to train your dragon
-Taken
-Never back down
-Superbad
-Saving Private Ryan
-The Pacific (10 part series - i don't care that it's a series, it's epic!)
-Blood Diamond

Enjoy!

Haaa!
Taken, on of my favs.
And ofcourse Superbad, for a while I thought no 'teen comedy' could beat American Pie, but in my opinion superbad did. Awesome movie indeed.

Have seen most of them, except for the pacific and How to train your dragon, might have to take a look at it :p

thanks!

Gladly,

- Stranger than Fiction
- Across the Universe
- The Dark Knight
- Inception
- The Social Network
- In Time
- Super 8
- 21 Jump Street
- Anchorman (Not the one coming out in 2013/whatever, though that too when it comes out)
- Hot Rod
- The Other Guys
- Wedding Crashers
- Zoolander
- Jumper
- X-Men: First Class

Trying to remember some others that I enjoyed, but I cannot. So there's those ^

My sisters were watching "The Help" one day and I sat down somewhat near the beginning of the movie and watched it from then on. Great movie.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say no movie with Jackie Chan or Chris Tucker can be classified as "need to watch before I die".

Jet Li on the other hand, has quite a few movies that are worth seeing :)

-- I stand corrected, The Fifth Element is the exception to the Chris Tucker theory, perhaps Friday as well..

Actually Fools, I used to be into Martial arts and some of the old Jackie chan movies from the 80's have the most impressive Fight scenes I've ever seen, such as:

Project A
Police Story series'
Drunken Master
Who Am I

Also Bruce Lee's films..and of course

"Way of the Dragon"

I haven't watched all his old stuff. I know he does all his own stunts, but the fact that all his later stuff tried to have a comic aspect sort of turned me off. I'd much rather watch Tony Jaa in The Protector or something.. just brutal martial art scenes :)

Well, you guys gave me a lot of movies to watch
eventhough I probably won't watch them all and the fact that I've seen a lot of them already
this will still take me atleast two summer vacations before I am done...

Still keep them coming because I guess others can use this too :p

And I know they say don't judge a book by it's cover but 'Dumb and Dumber', guys.
That really looks like a shitty movie judging by it's cover xD

Let me throw some in too:

- The Departed
- It
- Mississppi burning
- The butterfly effect
- Green street Hooligans
- Superbad
- American Pie 1, 2 & 3.
- Taken
- Surprised no one has said it yet so: Harry potter, all of them.
- Scary movie ( I know they suck but everyone knows them)
- Final destination
- 12 Monkeys
- Toy Story 1, 2 & 3
- Indiana Jones
- Back to the future

And for a TV-show:

-The Walking Dead
-Breaking bad
- South park

(will add some more when I have remember some)

I always have problems naming movies that I watched/liked from many years ago. But just recently I watched Goon, and that was probably one of my favorite movies. Not my most favorite, but definitely a very good movie, especially for being on netflix.

As for nonSutherland films

The Frighteners
Bob and Doug McKenzie in Strange Brew

Been watching a lot of cult classic films lately. Here's what you should watch.
-Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2
-Pulp Fiction
-Fight Club
-Donnie Darko
-Blade Runner
I could go on, but those are just what I'd recommend from movies I've seen recently.

Any comedies like Super Bad or 21 Jump street out there?

Anything where Jonah Hill plays a big part in...?

JUST. FUN. COMEDIES?

Don't suggest American Pie, I have seen those :p

There is a new one coming out that Jonah Hill is in, I can't remember the name of it.. but Ben Stiller? is in it as well and its about a neighborhood watch? ( i have to say I am impressed at how much weight he has lost.. good for him)

Other Jonah Hills:

How to train your dragon
Horton hears a who (new one)
Evan Almighty
Megamind

As for comedies like Superbad
Easy 8?
Bad Teacher?
Role Models?
Old School?
Step Brothers?
(I haven't seen those mind you)
Eurotrip (loved it)

As for other good movies.
Repo! the Genetic Opera was good. Gotta love Anthony Stewart Head and Alexa Vega.

If you like Jack Black,
there is Gulliver's Travels which is on Canadian (prob american too) Netflix.
School of Rock
All Kung Fu Panda movies
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
Bio-Dome (as Tenacious D) -good movie on its own though-

Now this brings me into Polly Shore movies.. Brendan Frasier Movies.. etc.. lol None of which I will actually put as I have listed ALOT so far.

I'd say throw into IMDB actors (both male and female) you like and go from there. Make lists. If I remember specifics though I will make sure to post those.

That's a nice list you got there, as for the comedies. I have seen most of them

And the new Jonah Hill movie is named 'The Watch'.
The rating on IMDB is 5.7 though so it's porbably not going to be an all time great like Super Bad.

I will take a look at the other movies and decide if I want to watch them. Thanks! :)

Comedies.. ok

Waiting
Out Cold (early Zach Galifianakis, before we even knew who he was.)
Horrible Bosses
Road Trip
Euro Trip
Office Space
Baseketball (and if you like that, then try to find Orgazmo as well)
Super Troopers
BeerFest
Idiocracy
Wedding Crashers
The Sweetest Thing (looks like a chick flick, more like the female version of American Pie, hilarious and raunchy)
Tropic Thunder (just for Tom Cruise, the rest of the movie was meh, but TC was a fucking riot)
Zoolander
There's Something About Mary
Ace Ventura (the first)
Mallrats / Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back (i don't care for Clerks, so sue me)
The Hangover I & II
Dumb & Dumber
Anchorman
Talladega Nights
Zombieland
Dead Man on Campus
PCU
Swingers
Dodgeball

If you want to go older classics

Police Academy
Beverly Hills Cop (action/comedy)
Princess Bride
Uncle Buck
National Lampoons Vacation, European Vacation, Xmas Vacation
Spies Like Us
Men at Work
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Naked Gun
Space Balls
Wayne's World
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
My Cousin Vinny
Coming to America

... I'll add more when I think of 'em.

And yes, I know Justin Timberlake plays a big part in this movie but he did really well actually, his character is prob the best of the whole movie.

Wreck it Ralph is nice if you like seeing little Easter eggs.

Risie of the Guardians is great and I personally loved it.

and If you for some reason live under a rock the Avengers.

Also skip the new Spiderman if you liked the original 3.
The world will end in fire, or zombies, or zombies on fire. One of those three.
