I've been browsing around on Blowout cards and have been seeing a lot of the futera autos are fakes. Just wondering if you guys think this could make the jersey cards fake? There is no authentication, so what do you think of them...?

Relax CFC26, I have been collecting futera since 1997, they are genuine as are the autos, there are a very, very small number of bashers of futera, same people on here as Blowout, trying to discredit and spoil. The market prices of cards speak for themselves.

Some Futera autographs are authentic but there are some other autographs that are very suspicious to some of us collectors out there. The fact that Futera doesn't guarantee the authenticity of their autos should also tell you something.

If you are to buy Futera autos I'd advise to compare the Futera sigs with proven authentic examples and only buy what you're comfortable with. You also might want to get authenticity opinions on autograph collector forums.

Futbol_cards, Email Futera and ask if they guarantee their autographs, then be done with this bashing, once and for all. From my Internet searching, futera is the ONLY football card brand that does NOT come up in legal court proceedings as having association to fakes and copies. Move on with your hating and leave the rest of us to enjoy collecting Futera.

I'm not bashing or hating, I'm simply pointing out the legitimate concerns many of us collectors have about Futera's autographs. Besides, CFC26 asked for opinions on the subject. I gave mine which happens to be different than yours.

And No Futera does NOT publicly guarantee their autos. I've never seen a guarantee of authenticity on their website or on any of their cards. Reputable card manufacturers usually have a statement or certificate guaranteeing the authenticity of their autographs. Most of the time it's on the back of the card, here's an example from the back of an Upper Deck Cristiano Ronaldo auto.

Posted Image

This kind of certificate is a standard practice among major card manufacturers but Futera does not provide such statements on their cards. Instead they just provide some vague statement which says nothing really.

Posted Image

Notice how the example above says 'original autograph' but nothing specific about the player depicted (in this case Bergkamp) having signed the card, much less the signature being guaranteed authentic by Futera.

You have not read what CFC26 said, he read your other thread before FCF. You are just wanting to repeat what we have all heard, so many times before.
Companies that go around forging, faking other peoples signature are committing a criminal offence and tend to go to jail and in some countries for a long time. Some of the other card collecting publishers have brushed up against fraud type activity, futera is not one of them, not in my research. If you want futera to guarantee the autos why do you not just email them and ask.
Move on, just as I note others have said to you on other forums where you keep repeating yourself.

Futbol_Cards gave some really good facts.
I was also wondering about certificate on the cards, but I said enough in many previous posts, so I will not repeat myself.

One more thing that is strange for me is that on card it says signature (for example Tom) FOR FUTERA.
What does that mean ?
From my angle TOM FOR FUTERA means that Tom got card signed and Futera paid him to do it, logical. But that also means TOM is responsible if autograph is fake, and not Futera, am I right ?

It is the same signature that is on the certificate, issued by futera, in my MU Greatest set from 14 years ago, email futera so we all know the answer.

My mistake, I read your original post wrong but if the autos are suspicious I would stay away from the jersey swatches as well.

nicolasharris doesn't know what he's talking about. At least the genuinely knowledgeable people have spoken on this thread and confirmed that there is some very suspicious stuff going round with Futera at the moment. I'd steer clear of these cards either way. Even if the shirts are real (I have no idea either way with them, I'm an autograph collector and not a match-worn shirt collector) it's literally a tiny square of it and not worth it when you can get an actual shirt worn by the players for not a huge amount more than the card price in most cases.

Same 2 people speaking the same rubbish. The most valuable football trading cards are Futera, EBay completed sales say it all, the market has spoken. Topps are the cheapest and least collectible - the market has spoken in that regard as well. Both of you need to move your bashing on and let others enjoy the hobby.

Fakes and jerseys are attached to Topps, in court - Futera squeaky clean, when you can post quality evidence to support your argument, like the following - FBI, Topps and Fakes then people will take you seriously.

I don't understand why you keep bringing Topps into it? I don't mention their reputation once. I have no doubt that Futera have a good reputation but the current series look nothing like authentics.

nicolasharris I have no idea how old you are ,but from your posts, I can tell you are younger member, that is why I am not going to be involved in any kind of argument with people who do not have enough knowledge about card collecting.
Futera did not sell anything on that particular market, that is why they are not involved ,as this was case that shook the collecting world of basketball, baseball, american football.

So stop posting same thing over and over again, I am sick and tired of reading your posts that are probably there just to make your post rating higher.

sorry I beg to differ
Although I am sick of the same old argument going over and over futera are not necessarily the most valuable cards
Their autographs range in value from as little as £2 right up to the high hundreds and the 1 of 1s sometimes reach over £1000
the jerseys sometimes go over the £100 mark but very rarely and again you can pick these up very cheap
I have seen topps autos sell for £1000 plus and they are not even 1 of 1s and also adrenalyn limited editions that have hit the high hundreds
The only real difference is quality and you cannot argue with the fact that futera produce very high end collector cards and topps and Panini tend to cater for the younger market and mass produce.
Each to their own and can we please stop the arguing and baiting

Agreed, Gary and Jayce are right, topic should be locked, since it is not constructive discussion, just pointless argument.
