"Odin to Ravens. Confirm complete lost contact with Argentum. Over." The Operation Commander voice asks inside the head of the Observation Team Leader. The Team Leader was one of the majority of agents who chose to have their communication units surgically implanted in their heads.

"Huginn-One confirms complete lost of contact with Argentum. Negative on all sensors. Though there's a lot of residual noise and we lost Whiskers 6 through 10. Over." the Team Leader replies. They have been here since the word that someone was making quiet inquiries into the elimination of one Zachariah Norman Alvarez. It now looked like someone managed to kill off Argentum in quite a messy fashion. The 'explosion' not only terminated Argentum but also took out the building where Huginn-Two was station to observe and maintain the cameras and laser microphones they had temporarily installed in that building. Huginn team was responsible for observing the actions occurring within the building with special attention to the 11th, 12th, and 13th floors.

A mental image showed that Huginn-Two was busy hightailing it out of the collapsing building after having armed the self destructs on the sensor units. They will go off sometime after the building had finished collapsing.

"Muninn-One confirms negative contact with Argentum. Negative on the Killer and Siegfried. Over." Muninn team was down at street level and was generally responsible for trying to identify the Killer in the crowds of people playing spectator or fleeing the destruction. The actual identification would likely come after the footage from both Muninn and Huginn had time to be completely reviewed.

"Roger that Ravens. Please note that the Wolves are on there way. Odin Out." The wolves are Teams Geri and Freki responsible for securing the area and cleaning up.

Mal hissed as he tightened the impromptu bandage around the wound on his leg. The sleeve of his hoodie would have to do for now, at least until he got home. He pulled a spray can out of his bag started spraying down his blood spatter. The strong odor of bleach hit him, but he ignored it. A molcus bumped his foot, the busy little things rigging the entire floor with high-explosives and firebombs.

Malcolm grumbled and slipped out of his ruined hoodie, stashing his pistol back in its holster. A molcus snagged his hoodie and scurried over to the target. The little furry bastards were poking holes in his flesh and running high-yield detcord through his body, sewing the two halves back together. One stuffed an incendiary grenade device into his pockets and wrapped the detcord around them. Mal smirked.

"Alright," Malcolm sighed, "Let's go. Siegfried, you know what to do."

Siegfried nodded and moved over to the body. The molcus all disappeared, one dropping a trigger by his foot. He tiredly bent down and picked it up before rushing to the stairs, taking them two at a time and ignoring the throbbing in his foot. That had been far messier than he'd liked, and the employer was going to hear about it.

He reached the ground floor easy enough and fell in with a group. With a grin he tripped the trigger in his hand before stuffing it in his pocket. The countdown started in his mind, and Siegfried began to move.

3.

Siegfried quickly slipped the hoodie onto the body and slung it over his shoulder.

2.

The knight looked around one final time, making sure he'd caught all the evidence.

1.

Siegfried ran and leaped out of the building, falling rapidly toward the ground. An instant later, he felt the air leap as the two floors they had fought on erupted into an enormous ball of flame. He slammed into the ground hard, flexing his knees and gritting his teeth as his bones seemed to flex. He ran off, away from the crowds that were fleeing the building, catching a glimpse of one man limping along with them, a security guard helping him along.

Siegfried made a mad dash for several blocks before tossing the body into a dumpster and disappearing back to his astral plane. A wump of detonation sounded and the dumpster flexed as flames burst from its open top.

Somewhere else, Malcolm smirked and hoped no one had seen him.

"All stations, All stations. This is Huginn-One. The entire 11th floor just fucking exploded. Hold one. Shit shit shit, got a live one. Siegfried plus one taking the gravity express from the 11th floor. Say again, Siegfried plus one taking the gravity express. Over," the team leader radios after watching all the windows on the 11th and 12th floor pop off from the building followed by a blossoming fireball that obscures the uppers floors. The explosion also shakes the building enough to pop off other windows. It is tracking where these sheets of glass might land that he spots the descending knight and his passenger.

"Copy that Huginn-One. All Ravens hold position. Say again, all Ravens hold positions. Heimdallr has reach watchtower and will track Siegfried. Over."

"Wilco, Ravens holding positions. Over." The team leader acknowledges the order and returns his full attention back to the building. His ravens where not prepared to fight someone that could defeat an agent as powerful as Argentum. And he could not send more than two of the ravens after the Knight without seriously degrading there observation of the building.

"Huginn-One, any ID on the plus one or source of the explosion? Over"

"Negative ID on the plus one. Partial on the explosion. No aura detected, the explosion was chem based, probably placed by the Assassin. Over." The team leader replies. The majority of the explosions detected where chemical explosives, though the previous four explosions where caused by magic. Odin probably already determined that last explosion was chemical based from the torrent of sensor data being relayed to them but they probably wanted a first hand confirmation from a mage at the scene.

"Copy that Huginn-One. Over."

"This is Odin. Wolves are at position one. Huginn proceed to observation three. Muninn standby to move to observation five. Over." So the clean up teams have finally arrived.

"Wilco. Huginn moving to observation three. Huginn out." The team leader switches the five remaining sensors packs autonomous mode then logs out of the sensor network. He packs up the spotting scope and paired laptops. He snaps shut the black plastic hard case of equipment and withdraws from the building.

Down on the street, at a safe distance from the damage buildings, agents in NHPD police and fire department uniforms have established a perimeter with the aid of real NHPD police and firemen. Their emergency vehicles parked to block the road. Several blocks away an agent in a police car investigates a burning dumpster with outwardly dented sides.

Closer in what looks like all black fire truck is idling down the road toward the damage building. On its side is in gold letters: NEW HAVEN BOMB SQUAD. It comes to a stop and four bomb techs carrying bags of gear and two police officers climb out. They retrieve a robot from a locker on the truck. The six men and one robot make there way cautiously toward the building.

"This is Odin. Freki is at position 2. Muninn proceed to observation five. Over."

"Copy, Odin. Muninn proceeding to observation five. Muninn out."

Apparently getting a clue the that the cop is serious about him leaving his 'choice location' on the corner of the street with the arrival of the bomb squad truck, the hot dog vender asks the the cop to hold the loaded hot dog with which he was trying to bribe the cop. He then hits a hidden switch. The big red and white umbrella collapses and folds down. A hidden seat and control stick unfolds out from one side of the cart. The hotdog vender sits down, spins the cart to get pointed in the right direction and drives away, much to the shocked amazement of the police officer.

At the same time in the alley behind the building an apparently over looked hobo gets up and starts pushing his shopping cart down the street way from the building. The clanking and chatter of the cart and crazy mutterings over the hobo the only sounds on the deserted streets. The hobo stops to dig some cans out of a trashcan to add to his cart before continuing to roll down the street.

Inside the bomb squad assumes a bomb is in the elevator so leave that for last with a police officer and tech to guard it. They sweep the rest of the building using the robot to check the 10th floor and above. The bomb squad carefully sweeps the building floor by floor. In each room they clear they stick a tag on the door signalling that the area has been deemed safe. The white tags used to mark the doors where actually powerful explosives in themselves, each of the tags yielded approximately the equivalent of a pound of C-4. At various key points around the building a bomb text would mysteriously lose one of his bags of gears.

With the rest of the building supposedly clear they back the truck up and send in the robot to try to defuse the bomb. The robot was less than successful at defusing the bomb. Multiple hot explosions ripple through the building sending burning debris flying out the shattered windows before the entire building topples into a pile of burning rubble.

"Ravens. Wolves. Return to Asgard. Odin Out."

Malcolm sat on the bus, eyes shut as he watched proceedings. As he'd expected, he'd caused quite a stir. His grin faded abruptly when the whole building went up.

"We didn't do that," Siegfried's voice was grim in his mind.

Malcolm ignored him and flitted back through the images in his head, focusing on the details. Bomb squad went in with equipment. They hadn't come out with nearly as much.

"Hm," he settled back into his seat, "Seems like we stumbled onto something."

"But what?"

"Who knows? We'll keep our eyes open, pick our targets with more care. It's all we really can do, isn't it?"

Siegfried fell silent, but Mal could feel his unease. He just chuckled at the old knight and closed his eyes as the bus pulled away. They'd pick their targets with more care, oh yes.

And he'd kill them with one shot.

High above the events of the day all seeing eyes watch from a lofty perch. One of the eyes focuses down to watch a skinny red headed male in a tight t-shirt and baggy pants board a bus. The all seeing eye keeps watch on the bus with its passenger. The eyes will not loose track of the man, for one of theirs have been slain and they will not forgive.
