Yeah, I think the writers just wanted the drama of a last minute rescue, to hell with the characters.

So, they made Jon stupid, and Sansa secretive for unknown reasons.

That does bother me.

This isn't a show spoiler, but I'll tag it anyway. It's about Sansa in the books, and in the books, the Battle of the Bastards hasn't happened by the way.

I do have to say that I cheered when Sansa and Littlefinger appeared. Logically, the storyline was dumb, but it was exciting.

Excited to see what's coming for the finale. Please don't kill off anyone I like.

I thought Sansa didn't warn Jon ahead of time was because she knew he didn't really trust what she was telling him. The only way for him to truly see that her ideas and strategies shouldn't be disregarded, that maybe she does know what she's talking about, was to let Jon screw it up like he did and then let him see that Sansa saved the day.

Well, that is a lot to take in.

Who was Jon Snow's mother?

She's Ned's sister, Lyanna. She was shown in another episode, much like Arya she was accomplished on horse and with swords, but also very, very beautiful and spirited. She was betrothed to Robert, and basically caused most of the war that put him on the throne because of either being abducted or simply running away with Raegar out of love.

Reports from the kingdom is that she was abducted by the mad king's son Raegar (sp?) (Dany's brother) but more common is the assumption that they were in love. He was already married to a woman from Dorne, but the Targaryans practiced multiple wives as well sometimes, so more commonly, it's believed he did marry her, which would make Jon the legitimate heir to the throne. He is Dany's nephew, but ahead of her in the line of succession.

Theory no longer.

Lyanna:

Don't worry about spoilers, we are FAR beyond the books now.

The other theory is, and it could still be true but the producers weren't told by GRRM, is that Lyanna actually had twins, and Meera is Jon's twin sister. Meera is Howland Reed's daughter, the one with Bran. The show hasn't included Howland yet, but I think they will (I HOPE!) because he was actually THERE with Ned. That particular theory is that Ned took one twin, Jon, and Howland took the other, Meera.

They had to hide the child/children because Robert would have killed them.

Well, remind me to never piss off Cersei Lannister. Sheesh!

I wonder if it will turn out that a few survived the explosion somehow.

Thanks for the info, Mariah. I was baffled a few times during the episode. Lol.

I hope so, Willy. I was sad to see Margaery die. Guess I should have been expecting it, but I was shocked when Tommen jumped.

Loved Arya. Hope to see the remaining Starks have some good moments after all of the bad stuff.

There is no way anyone survived that explosion, and she probably killed thousands more in the area surrounding it.
