I've been DVRing the episodes this season (too much on at one time!) and I heard there was quite an uproar over this past week's episode. Ha! Try slogging through the books and get to that part.(I know you've done it, Mariah!) I called up my son who was a book behind me and said, "I'm not going to tell you who, but everyone dies." Quite the uplifting novel.

Wow...I know she's tall...but he is tiny. And looks so meek!

disco - how far are you into the second season? I don't want to post any spoilers for you.

Don't worry, andme...I've read the books so anything you say won't be a spoiler.

What is is about me (other than I'm 5'9) that just gets turned off by short guys?

He must be really tiny. The girl who plays Sansa is already 5'9" I think. I wonder if they would have cast her if they knew how fast she would sprout up. She's Arya's age in real life I think.

The ages of the "kids" are going to be an issue. Unlike JK Rowling, who wrote her characters as aging a year in each book, which I thought was a lovely choice and done so well, GRRM just takes decades to age them even a year in his books. Sansa in the books is still 13 now in book 6 or whatever it is. What, 20 years after the first one?

I just finished the episode where Jamie gets his hand cut off! And dragon lady just got her army.

LOL...this show baffles me sometimes and I have to google to figure out who a character is. The names are all too similar.

westeros.org has a wonderful wiki, but it's easy to get spoiled that way.

I had to use that all the way through the damn books. Some character shows up and has a few lines, then 958302 pages later, they become important.

That's the truth! The Lannister father told her daughter that she had to marry someone, and I thought "who the hell is that?" I think it's the gay brother of the future queen.

Well, did you guys get caught up on last week's show yet? I'd love to hear the non-reader's reactions.

Meanwhile, this is a shot from tomorrow's show. Don't click if you haven't read the books, or if you have and don't want to see what should be a controversial still photo before it airs.

Just watched last week's episode. Holy crap. Can't believe they killed off all of those people. Damn, the stark's have had some bad luck.

Loving the chubby guy who's taking care of the girl with the baby.

Why did John Snow ditch his girl?

andme, like I said before... try sloggin though those books and get to the part where everyone gets killed off!

I think Jon left her because the Watch (those on the Wall) take an oath to eschew female companionship and devote themselves entirely to the Wall and their comrades. He was really breaking his vow by being with her.

Congrats on remaining unspoiled on that andme!

So, were you shocked?

I was completely shocked! I heard that a bunch of people died in that episode, but for some reason I didn't think they'd kill off most of the Starks. At a wedding!

In the books, I kind of knew Robb was a dead man as soon as he married Jenye. Talisa didn't exist in the books. He's an idiot, just like his father, so I was kind of happy they killed him.

I was most upset that Arya didn't get to meet up with her family, soooo close, that was heartbreaking. I was far more upset that Grey Wind was murdered.

Also, discomom, ITA. Slogging through the books is a perfect way to describe it. At least, if the show stays on the air, we will finally get an ending. Previously GRRM had it in his will that NO ONE could finish the tale if he died. I think the contract with HBO played hard ball with him though, and they do have the right to end the story, and GRRM did tell them the ending.

I seriously doubt GRRM will ever finish, he's too busy making appearances and signing off on comic books, and blogging about sport to get back to writing. I can't stand him. He'll be dead before he writes that last book. OH! I also heard he's now making THIS book into TWO books--so more waiting. 3 more now?

There are a bunch of "pre quels" on You Tube with more information, not spoilers, this is stuff that happened before.

Here is one, there is one for the Children of the Forest / greenseers, and for Stannis, etc.
