I will try to watch on real time, Mariah. I've read the books, so I think I know what is coming up. I wasn't a fan of the 3rd and 4th books.... I won't say more for those who haven't read the books.

Well, we lost power so I can't watch tonight. But I saw a post on FB that said "finally, you brat". So i guessing things don't end well for Joffrey.

Another great episode.

Daeny is one smart cookie. Maybe she should rule it all.

Jon Snow's old girlfriend and her Wilding friends are despicable.

Was sad for the old man and his daughter when the knight took his silver and said they'd be dead soon.

This is not really a spoiler. It's about a scene in the show that was majorly fucked up by the directing. It was completely different than the books, and changes a lot of stuff that apparently the director didn't mean to change. I'll do two spoilers here, the first simply a link to the director's mea culpa and what he INTENDED the scene to convey, which I tagged because it's made clear in the link url. The second is what happened in the book in that scene. So choose which or both to read.

It was SUCH a major change to the story, and really does screw things up. The book readers are seriously pissed off, and GRRM wrote a blog where is very carefully avoided calling the director an idiot. Kind of a "oh well, but yeah, that didn't happen" but without flat out saying "DAMN IT!" Downplaying what really was a complete reversal of the book.

Here is the text from the book, it doesn't spoil anything in the future, just shows what the story was before the director screwed it up.

What GRRM said about the scene, again, not spoiling anything in the future, but it does discuss Jamie and Cersei's feelings:

One more article, it's slightly spoilerish, at least about motivation differences, but not about any future events really. It's such a well written article though, and I agree with all of it. It reminded me of a previous problem I had with the show, the whole Dany marriage night scene, which also deviated from the books.
