So I think I had a better way to get Jon Snow up. He's Targaryan in my mind, so have the Red Witch pray over the funeral pyre and have him walk out a la Daynareas or however your spell the names. I think everything last night was predictable or just seemed rushed and the dialogue was almost flat. Well maybe not the Remley/Ramsey scene. That is Ramsey's dad's name?

I am looking forward to the Iron Isles. I didn't like how they introduced the King's brother there and resolved the conflict without even letting us realize there was a conflict between the two first - or did I miss it in previous seasons? It seems like they are rushing stuff too much. IS this the last season?

No, one more split season to go. So, two more years.

They are so far away from the books now, so who knows what will happen? GRRM gave them an overview and ending, but I do wonder if he went into much detail about the endless hoards of other characters.

Glad someone will enjoy the Iron Islands. I think of that whole thing as simply a tangent GRRM decided to go on, because OMG! Playing Pirate and Vikings!

I didn't read the books Mariah, but the characters there seem to have some depth - Theon's sister. The Dorne stuff with the sand snakes while entertaining initially, now that they have killed the king and the other guy was killed by the mountain, seemed characterish.

Yes, but we are only seeing a fraction of the characters on the show, and very shallow versions of those as well. Jamie, for example, is a truly fantastic character in the books. I won't "spoil" things by saying why, but let's just say show watchers only aren't getting a true picture of this guy at ALL, mostly, it seems to me, in order to beef up and add to Cersei's story/character.

For me, it's kind of interesting to see what characters they are focusing on, because now I know that several things in the books are simply tangents/red herrings. I can enjoy them for what they are, but now know that really? They don't matter.

If that makes sense?

Dorne and the Iron Islands take up a LOT of time in the books as well, and frankly, many loved those stories...I was not one of those people. Ha.

Here is a sample chapter from the book that he is currently writing. If you don't care about possible book spoilers (not show, because I doubt anything from this chapter will actually matter on the show) don't read it.

If you want to get a feel for his writing though, you can here. He has other sample chapters up as well (including from stuff the show's already covered or dropped.)

Also, this is a great interactive map of the known world, no spoilers. http://quartermaester.info/

I have a super MAJOR possible spoiler, in the form of a leaked script. Do NOT click on this link if you don't want to know, and yes, this goes well beyond the books. http://watchersonthewall.com/game-of-thrones-season-six-audition-surfaces-online/

Yes, we've moved beyond the books now with Jon and Sansa meeting up, and Dani killing the khals (on her own, without dragons! Yay!) but a very few things are still happening on screen that may be in the last book.

I'm so excited! I was sad about Osha but thrilled that they are finally getting this cast of characters down to a manageable size. They also have a screen cap up on their website previews that makes me seriously happy, I'll finally see something on screen that I've been waiting for forever in the books, even though almost no one cares about it but me.

So, yay!

I was annoyed that the wilding woman (Is that Osha?) died so quickly. I would've like to see some shenanigans of hers at Winterfell before she did. Too easy for Ramsey. I thought she was more wily than that.

I thought last night's show was the best by far this season. They need to do a better job with Tyrion's lines. They aren't that well written this year.

I call Dynaris's fire action her party tricks (kind of like Kyle's splits). Well done that scene.

I am sick of the sparrow guy. The women are so much better than most of the men written in this series.

Girl power!

And I even like the scene with Theon returning home.

Yeah, enough with the Sparrow. He is way past his expiration date. Although, I think it will be spectacular when he gets the boot.

Why do I not recall Rickon at all? He's Sansa's brother?

In his letter, why did Ramsey keep saying "Cone and see!" to Jon Snow? Is he trying to lure him into a trap?

Rickon is the youngest Stark. He has a temper, and his dog, Shaggy Dog reflects that, he was orphaned by around 7 years old.

Meereen sucks the life out of everyone, even Tyrion, although I do appreciate that he's the only one trying diplomacy.

Rickon and Bran were traveling together with Hodor and Osha and the dog. Remember she was going to take Rickon to one of the the lords of the north somewhere in the northern most area where I thought maybe the guy from the Knights watch was going with Jilly and the baby. And Bran was going with the two kids and Hodor to the tree. They split up.

Ramsey just killed Rickon's dog and Osha the Wilding. Remember Theon pretended to kill and burn their bodies when he was "lord of Winterfell" for the Iron Isles - before Ramsey captured him. I think Ramsey is past his due date too.

So I think Jon Snow and Sansa meet up the the Knights of the Glen and storm Winterfell?

I was glad to see Little Fingers even though he makes my skin crawl - and that creepy kid he is in charge of! Yuck. That's what breastfeeding too long apparently does! hahaha

Is Jon Snow's wolf/dog the only one still living - I know Arya's escaped at the beginning.

Lol, well now you're just showing off, fin. You and that young brain of yours. I'm vaguely recalling Rickon now.

I had completely forgotten about Theon acting like an ass at Winterfell. Is he related to the Starks?

Glad to see Littlefibger, too. He's always up to something. Is Robin the son of the lady who got chucked thru the moon door?

Mariah knows the real details. My husband and I cheated and watched the whole first 4 or 5 seasons last year to catch up. Then we watched last season and now this. So it's fresh in my mind.

Apparently Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon fought with the Iron Isles at some point and won and took Theon as ransom and as Ned's ward kind of. Theon was raised with the Stark sons as a lesser. And that's why it was such a betrayal to the Starks that he killed Rickon and Bran and his general dickery. Mariah knows really tho bc she read the books.

Yea, I think Robin is the daughter of the loon in the vail Catelyb Starks sister - Lysa Aryn.
