Who knows about Megan. She is probably, besides Peggy, the most current character in the show. Does she want to do her own thing - YES - but can she continue? Will she decline eventually because she has a nice life and it's too hard to make it? She made such a big deal about how she will make it but she has resources - money - like others do not. She may give up, get pg, and call it a day. It wouldn't be that odd if she did that. She tried at least. She picked the hardest career to break into without breaking herself - as in screwing her way to the top.

What a thought provoking episode, and it completely caught the feel of that time.

Another wonderful episode. I'm so glad I didn't give up on this season.

Poor Lane. Since that elevator shaft scene, I was worried Lane would come to an untimely end. I'm really going to miss that character. He really couldn't start over, or didn't think that he could. I don't see how he could either. I always thought Don would cover it all up and pay the money but that Lane wouldn't be able to get rid of the guilt. Never anticipated Don's firing him.

I get the feeling Don is ready to fly the coop. But how can he, there are more seasons to go. A show without Don, not possible.

Weiner, keep your kid off the show, please. Kid drives me nuts.

I don't really know what Don could have done any differently. He thought he was letting him go without pressing charges.
For all his womanizing, he has shown that he really does have morals (first wife and with Joan) but then again, isn't Don himself the biggest fraud? Since he really isn't Don Draper and has been living as such for the past 10-15 years.
Sally getting her period brought back memories, except I wasn't at the museum, I was at school and stuffed the toilet paper into my panties for dear life.

Yeah, maybe if Lane were in creative or something, Don could have let him get away with it. But not when he was the financial guy. Don sure has gotten away with quite a bit himself. But Don always reinvented himself and Lane can't.

I thought Jared Harris handled his scenes brilliantly. I'm going to miss him.

Yes the scene with Sally was quite real, including those dreadful toilet paper machines they used to have. Glen just spoils any scenes for me, can't stand him.

Didn't miss Elizabeth Moss at all. I hope we see more of Ken, if Don gets Corning. It's always great to see the spark in Jon Hamm when Don does a sales pitch.

Is Elisabeth Moss leaving the show?

Loved the episode although it was so sad. Dh is a Brit and he had an interesting perspective. Loved the scene with Ken and Roger - absolutely perfect and needed because of the heaviness of the episode. I knew the Jag wouldn't start. Did think he'd jump out the window or down the elevator shaft as in the foreshadowing. Don is guilty as hell - remember his brother hung himself. It's killing him. He did get his mojo back though and I like that.. The last 2 episodes were just terrific. Loved Joan in the boardroom as well. Rumor has it that Lane leaves her his portion of the firm - or else maybe we'll see his wife as part of the board. That would be interesting.

I think they will bring EM back - jacking for clients and competing with the firm or maybe she won't be happy at the other firm. Someone said the show was really not about Don but about Elizabeth and her journey. We shall see. I'm so sad there is only one episode left this season

How smarmy was Pete even cutting down Lane? He's right out of an Edgar Allen Poe story.

I don't think he'd leave anything to Joan. He has a wife and son. I suppose he'd get his initial investment back, but the firm has not been making any money, so what else is there to give? Wasn't his father rich but brutal and sadistic? His father will probably take care of wife and son.

Course if Don gets Corning, I suppose there is a big payoff.

I don't know about Elizabeth Moss; Weiner never says anything. I wouldn't mind if she left the show, but I doubt it. I think Weiner sees her as a major character.

She is or was a major character - you don't think so Wea? She was the first woman to break through the secretarial pool and Don didn't try to sleep with her either. He was her mentor. She's major to me and I think she fully represents everything that changed - remember - I'm Peggy and I want to smoke some pot and everything that followed? Anyway it's all just guesses. I like that MW doesn't tell us what to expect. I don't actually mind his son's part either. He plays such an awkward boy which is how most of them on in the tween years. Little Sally is going to be gorgeous.

OMG, I had no idea that the kid who plays Glen is Matthew Weiner's son!!

That whole character is just weird. No wonder he still pops up from time to time.

I think so - absolutely. Peggy's journey/character is one of the most interesting things about this show as far as I'm concerned.

When Don told Lane that he's started over more than once and this is the hardest part I thought about when Don visited Peggy when she was stuck, depressed and lying in some care facility/hospital after giving birth. I loved that speech - it's why I've always liked Don and Peggy's relationship.

I floved this episode and I was so glad to see Don get some of his mojo back. I think Weiner's son is a great little actor actually. The look on his face in the last scene was perfect. The ending was perfect.

I'm an episode behind but decided to read this thread anyway ...

I think Peggy is a major character. She'll be back, but maybe not this season.
I dislike the kid who plays Glen, aka Matthew W's son. He wouldn't still be around if he wasn't related to the writer, IMO.
I was shocked/disappointed when Joan slept with that guy.
Sad to hear Layne is going away ... dead? No, don't tell me ... he must be, if "inheritance" is being discussed. :(

Oh, I do think Elizabeth Moss' character is major in Weiner's mind. She does represent the young working woman of the 60's. I just have never taken to her, character or actress. That's why I didn't miss her last week.

I too was reminded of the scene in the hospital when Don told Peggy, "this never happened." I loved that scene.

I've heard she is gone for this year, but as for next, only Weiner knows. I suspect she'll be back. They have no other character to represent what she did. You know Don and Chaough (sp?) will have some bad blood and Peggy will be involved.

That actor who plays Chaough (sp?) was a regular as "Kyle" on JUDGING AMY. I thought he was such a cutie. Glad he got another gig.

Weaver, I agree about Eliz. Moss. She never grew on me either (ha ha ha). But she's had a lot of time and development ... he barely spent any time on Betty this season, it felt, so he owes both Eliz. and Jan a bit of storyline, IMO.

That actor who played "Paul" who escaped to LA/TV land? So happy to NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN. He bugged me a lot.

The guy was also on Desperate Ho's and he played the gay neighbor

Eliz. Moss started as one of the daughters on the West Wing. I feel like I saw her grow up on TV
