I watched House pretty regularly for the first three or four years. Then I thought the writing deteriorated badly, I couldn't stand Lisa Edelstein, actress or character, and thought Robert Sean Leonard woefully underused. So I watched only sporadically as the years went on.

Because it is ending, I watched the last two weeks and they have been brilliant. Of course Edelstein is gone, thank heavens. RSL and Hugh Laurie have brilliant scenes together, my dream scenes. The Chase actor has improved enormously and had some really powerful scenes this week. I need to rewatch last week's show, April 30th's. I was glued to the screen.

Monday is the final episode of the series.

I'm a YOOOOGE House fan, pardon my Trumpism. Problem is, I could never find the original-run episodes on Fox and actually gave up long, long ago. So I've been stuck in rerun land for years now. I think the most recent episodes I saw were when Foreman and Thirteen just broke up, she went to...was it Africa?, or she tried to go to Africa and House hacked her computer and cancelled her reservations? Yeah, that long ago.

I never had an opinion of Lisa Edelstein one way or the other. But I did think that the writers concocting a relationship between then was completely wrong. It seemed like they went that direction because they'd run out of anything else to show us.

However, Dr. Gregory House is the King of Douche-baggery. The walking train wreck from which I just cannot turn away. Which is why I love this show so much.

Yeah, I am a re-reun person too. I think it always aired (and still does) against other programs I like. I'm not sure I like the whole cancer story, but it's making a compelling story to go out on.

Hugh Laurie was in Sense and Sensibility too, and I was somehow completely shocked when I realized it was him. SUCH an amazing actor.

Thirteen is returning for the finale on Monday. I never liked her either. Hated Foreman too, until this year when he replaced Edelstein. It's a better role for him and he seems to have cut out the sullen expressions.
I used to want to hit Lisa E when she'd adopt that caring compassionate face, especially after House screwed up. And theirrrelationship was so not believable, even within the confines of TV writing.

Hugh Laurie is a spectacular actor. He is worth watching even when the writing is poor. A few episodes this year were more like sit-coms than dramas with lots of one liners. I think the writers got very lazy.

But they did redeem themselves with the Wilson cancer story, IMO. And Chase's departure scenes were handled beautifully, for a change. I'm curious as to what House will do if Wilson dies, and I suspect he will.

Yeah, I think Wilson is a goner. I wish that they had made it a more advanced cancer though. I googled it, and stage 2 whatever he has is quite survivable. IF you follow traditional methods of treatment. It kind of bothers me that an oncologist is giving up like that. Hell, at least make it stage 3 or 4, or a different, untreatable cancer that only has long shot horrid drugs.

Oh well.

For a change I'm really looking forward to the show tonight. I suppose they could leave everything unresolved, sort of like Sopranos.

Holy crap, tonight was all over the map. They are going out without pulling any punches aren't they?

OK, I didn't get the memo about not taking my eyes away from the TV screen for even a nanosecond during the last 60 seconds WHAT was in the bag that the attorney held up? Pill bottles? Labels from something? I just could not focus quickly enough to see.

Somebody help a girl out, pleeeze?

Yes please, what the heck was that? Did he stuff something in the sewer system last week? And why?

It was the hockey tickets Foreman had offered House. House was mad at Foreman trying to replace Wilson in his life by offering him season hockey tickets. So he flooded his office by stuffing them in the toilets. As he said to Foreman, "you want to be Wilson, and I always prank Wilson." I don't think he intended the water to go through the MRI ceiling, not that he cared when it happened.

What now? I thought last night was the finale. Two more hours.

I liked last night, but it did go all over the place. I don't buy Wilson's stopping chemo, its not in his character. And I didn't need to see Thirteen again, never liked her to begin with.

I'm watching also. Has anyone ever seen Blackadder? Hugh and his baby blues was hysterical in that. He played the gay prince if I'm correct.

I'm putting in a request for someone to please post a recap of the last 30 minutes of the final episode. I'm missing it because I'm on cat duty: Oliver the orthopedic surgery patient decided that halfway through "House" was the perfect time for his dinner and a trip to the litter box. Since he can't yet walk and I'm his sole means of transportation, that means we have been in the bathroom since House was talking to Stacey/Sela Ward. (In the bathroom because that's where he eats and does his other...stuff.) Thanks in advance.

I read a recap (it's not on here yet) and I seriously regret it. Vander, honestly, you might want to watch this one. Do they have it up on the web someplace? I WISH I had been patient and not spoiled myself on this one.

Here is how it ended, but I advise not reading it! To do spoilers here just do [ spoiler] text [/ spoiler] and leave out the spaces

I caught the last 30 minutes on some on-line video site. My favorite part? When House re-wrote Stacey's vision of what House's domestic life could be like. He exchanged one wife for a squad of 20-something cheerleaders. lolol

You don't want a recap, you absolutely have to see the whole thing. I thought the show was brilliant. I'm going to watch it again. What an ending.

I also loved hour one.
