Denise Rich is that bitch who moved to London and gave up her US citizenship, supposedly because of taxes. Like the rich aren't rich enough. She is a songwriter and married the felon Marc Rich who had to hide out in Switzerland for years and years. Clinton pardoned him but he still had pending charges so he never returned here. I think he died recently, forget. She is scum in my opinion. You live on that scale and you worry about taxes? |

Denise Rich - it's all about money and fame with her. I think she did write a few famous songs. Her ex is a scumbag - or did he die? Clinton showed his true colors by pardoning him. What the hell? He did a lot of stuff at the end of his term including vetoing the estate tax which I am totally against. All those taxes were paid by families already. Other ways to collect taxes from them. She has all those over the top parties each year which everyone famous and rich feels special to which to be invited. Ita she is scum. She also is another plastic surgery addict. |

Is anyone watching this tonight? Not only did Josh sell Marissa's in-laws 26 million dollar house in Beverly Park - he sold to someone who wants to tear it down. They made it look like they weren't telling Marissa but this show is so fake that's probably when she said they want the million dollars worth of chandeliers etc. Wow... all those London bricks and fancy kitchen tiles, etc. and a tear down. Who has that kind of money? It's amazing. |

I watched. At first I was appalled. But honestly, so what if the bricks were made in England? That just says to me that Zanuck was a prick. Buy American, asshole! All that money spent on shipping so he could say all the bricks were made in England. It's just a pose. So the gym was designed by Arnold S. Also, so what? If I'm rich and buying a home, I want to be comfortable on my own terms, not live with inherited tastes. It's not like they're burning the money -- construction companies, home furnishing companies, LA gov't for permits, lots of people who make their living building will earn wages. Taxes will be paid from many sources. If the home was a historical monument, I'd feel differently. Plus, I'm certain large chunks of it can be saved and will wind up all over LA in other places. When the chef I used to work for put together his NYC restaurant, he got pieces from lots of places, including some old lobby lights from the Empire State Building -- that stuff won't wind up at the dump. Marissa's probably happy to have an okay to remove those tiles. I just think Josh was a dick to not tell her they were tearing it down and for him, what meant another 20,000 was that he was willing to screw Marissa with a lie. And actually, stupid. MAYBE she wouldn't have sold it, but maybe they could have gotten even a better deal because they could have resold a lot of the fixtures. Not that they'd do the work themselves, but have a resell broker handle it ... Josh is a prick and is short-sighted. And he talks out his ass. He showed how many places to that guy and had four more lined up (he said)? He was hoping one would hit then he could say "I knew it" ... but when those places got rejected he kept saying "Now I have a better idea, I wanted to check him on this point" ... bullshit. And "no price limit" is bullshit. I'll bet they had the guy say that, but even before negotiations, I'm thinking there was a cap. Because $26 million is not such a huge price in Beverly Hills. It really isn't. I hate Josh, so I'm happy he's actually pretty bad at his job, in ways that aren't obvious. I gather he has trouble with Heather later ... good. Love Josh Flagg and especially his Grandma Esther. She is a hoot and smart. But I wish she'd wear a flesh colored bra or a thicker shirt -- don't like the look. I think, looking down, she can't see that the bra shows through. I wonder if she watches the show. I hope Bravo pays her a fee for appearing and being miked. Madison ... wacky clients, and that broker in the surf shack was all kinds of stupid. I wanted all the houses we saw tonight. I lust after them! But not Madison's new boyfriend. Too Slavic for me. Besides the gay thing, of course. :) |

I don't watch but I'm assuming the bricks were made with better quality or were created before cheap production started. That's the problem with lots of fixtures these days. They buy stuff on the cheap - especially floors. It looks great but it's a piece of crap and after a few years they are destroyed. They aren't stained right and one scratch shows the true color underneath. I think 25 million is still high even in BHs. Most houses do not cost that much. I think Bel Air is more expensive than BH proper = perhaps Bel Air is part of the BH township but a different town. |

Josh A. said the house is in Beverly Park which is a gated neighborhood in Beverly Hills? I guess it's the most desired, private, $$$$ part of Beverly Hills. They made it sound like that was Marissa's family home rather than her in-laws and at one point she even referred to her m-I-l as her mother. I had to laugh remembering her actual mother on camera, keeping it real. Edited by Cosmocrush, Aug 24 2013, 06:01 PM.

But I think she's very close to Lily Zanuck. I don't think they are so far apart in ages, but I could be remembering the wrong person. In any case, the tear down idea didn't stop Marisa, so either she gets that they are selling it and won't have any say or she wanted the commission more than she cared. |

I laughed at Altman's comment to his buyer's attorney that he (Altman) is one of the few BH Realtors who knows about listings that never hit the MLS. He was obviously looking to impress the attorney with his insider status. Problem is, pocket listings (the ones that are kept private and you generally only hear about via word of mouth) are considered highly UNETHICAL by the State of California. Altman would know that if he'd paid attention in real estate classes. The fact that he's broadcasting his participation in pocket listings on national television? Further shows his arrogance and inexperience. I hate that little blowhard. |

I felt bad that the gazillionaire will tear it down. It was a beautiful home. Seems Lili Fini Zanuck bought Sharon Stone's house for quite a bit less, so she pocketed a nice bit of change. I saw the preview of next week's (the 12 minute thing) and there is a whole scripted scene with Josh and his brother. So I guess brother will now be on the show. I want more Josh Flagg, I just like the guy. |

I like Josh Flagg, too. He's so very secure in exactly who he is and never, ever apologizes for it. I admire that in anyone. Case in point: when Altman came to Flagg's office to discuss the deal they were trying to put together. As Atlman left, his eye was drawn to the listing sheet Flagg had posted on a bulletin board. The listing happened to be Altman's (or maybe it was planted by producers, I don't know, but anyway...). Altman tried to start something by asking why Flagg had the listing on his bulletin board. Flagg, very matter-of-factly, said he liked the photography and was going to use the same photographer. Perfectly logical reason. And imho showed a lot of maturity that he was willing to rise above the fact that this photographer had done business with Altman. Flagg recognized a good thing. Period. End of story. The fact that Altman made some snooty comment and ripped up the listing on his way out? That also speaks volumes about who HE really is. I would hire Josh Flagg to sell my property in a heartbeat. Knows the market. Honest and keeps it to the facts. That's everything you want in a Realtor. Plus, he's got a razor-sharp sense of humor which I also dig. The 12-minute beginning of this Wednesday's show was obviously partly scripted. I don't really buy that Josh A. wanted to show the house under construction immediately and his brother would disagree with him like that in front of the developers. Wouldn't they be on the same page going in? And Heather being the seller's agent for the house Madison wants to show? Scripted! (I love this show though. And MDL NY.) |

I agree with you guys about Josh Flagg; I enjoy him immensely. Josh Altman? Not so much. I don't mind the scripted part. Some of my favorite reality shows were scripted, like Kathy Griffin's Life on the D-List. That actually took some effort. Edited by Cosmocrush, Aug 26 2013, 11:28 PM.

As long as I see the homes, I don't care. I loved the Malibu stuff. Go away, Heather. She looks like Lauri on OC, she must have used same surgeon. |
