Thanks Cosmo, I really want to give it another try. It starts at 5PM here, runs into Survivor, but I'm not sure I care much about Survivor anymore! ;) |

It's not really about the meth culture. It's more of a show of a high school chemistry teacher who has been handed a death sentence - lung cancer - and who at first wants to provide for his family. Then he changes so drastically. It's almost the best show I've seen. I think you should watch it from start to finish. It's a drama, but has lots of black comedy. |

I watched the 2nd to last episode last night, for the first time from start to finish. I dunno, maybe this show isn't for me. I see the quality, but I'm surrounded by cancer in my real life, even more right now, and you add the drug senseless murders, and the kid screaming at his dad, and the hopelessness of trying to get the money to his wife, while he is obviously dying, and it was just too much for me. This may just be a timing issue for me though. I know a marathon is starting today, but I was SO depressed after last night's show that I put on Mad Men DVDs to distract me enough to sleep. The acting was wonderful, the script gritty and real, but I think I am just not up for hopelessness right now. |

Marathon from beginning to end is starting RIGHT NOW. (At least I think it's from the beginning, some guy in his underwear and a mask is crashing an RV._ |

OK, the first episode was really good, I see how one could become hooked. I just get sad knowing where this will go. For now though, I'm still in, on episode 2 now! |

I stayed up until the last episode of the first marathon stopped last night, 2 AM! It began again at 6 this morning, but obviously I missed several. I see why people liked it. The first year kept me hooked, coming into this during the last year, when it's all gone to hell, was too much. You need to walk into this from the beginning I think. |

Totally agree, Mariah. I watched it from the beginning and got sucked in. This last season has been painful. The show has some of the greatest moments on TV, though, I think. |

I'm obsessed with this show now! Thanks for the push you guys. I've been watching the marathon, but it's not on until later today and I've missed a few. I'm watching season 5 right now on seriescravings.tv.com Wowsa. Note: I really like series cravings, but once in a while an episode won't play, and asks you to download something. DON'T. I've watched dozens of episodes of various shows on that site, and only once has it asked me to do that. Just skip that episode if it happens. It may be safe, but I don't do that, and google wasn't encouraging about the download. Edited by Mariah, Sep 28 2013, 04:06 PM.

I honestly feel that this is one of the best shows I've ever seen. It's just perfect, from start to finish. Series finales should all be done like this. |

Sorry Shoppergal. Why? I am so in love with the way he finally admitted he did it for him, and really, just everything about the finale. I include the last few episodes in that in many ways. http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/series-finale-review-breaking-bad-felina-its-all-over-now-baby-blue#~oiZ3P6ikBXxLgO http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/lessons-of-the-breaking-bad-series-finale-20130930 Edited by Mariah, Sep 30 2013, 10:39 PM.

it didn't hold my attention - basically the last few episodes. One of the reviews linked above mentioned how the 2nd to last episode was kinda filler. Well that's how I felt about the whole back half of this season - Walt in isolation really did me in - I hated those scenes. |

I think I was very lucky. I got to watch it basically straight through in 4 days. The first one I watched I just hated, yup, Walt in the cabin, and it was all just so hopeless. I went back and started at the beginning and saw how he got there, what a roller coaster! So, that end bleakness just made me want it over, and Jesse to live. BAM, Walt had plenty of time to think everything through, and figure out answers, and that last episode just gave me such a perfect ending, and it wasn't unbelievable to me, partly because Walt had been isolated with nothing to do but think. So this time, all of his plans actually worked, except that he planned on killing Jesse and himself with that machine/gattling gun rig too, and when he saw Jesse in chains, he saved him instead. The only other episode I watched all the way through until the marathon thing was the train robbery, and I just hated how brutal it all was, and didn't watch again. I'm so glad I did though. I never expected a relatively happy ending. |
