On Modern Family have they finally let the daughter grow up. Sara Hyland has been playing a the same age for what seems like 7 years. I remember her from a little gem that no one watched: Lipstick Jungle. I like Lucy Lui. Sara played Broke's daughter - same snotty character and same age - 'cept that was back in 2002.

Speaking of Lucy Lui - anyone watching Elementary tonight? I didn't realize that was the name of the show and almost tapped "Sherlock Holmes" on PBS.

Hey Shopper, if you jump back a page, you can get the low-down on Romi the Ridiculous.

I always thought Romi was gay for pay. Like Showtime found her and said 'hey you wanna be on tv...but you'll have to eat a little rug.' They all just irritated me.

What was the deal with the couple that lost a baby between seasons?

They kept trying and she got pregnant again but she miscarried two or three days after she got the positive test. So, they were going to take a bit of a break and give themselves a chance to get off the baby train for awhile.

And yeah, I thought that, too, Shopper - about romi. All I could think when she was marrying Dusty was "well, there goes your spot on THE REAL L WORD. You know, the show about LESBIANS?" I think Romi will climb in the sack with anything that moves be they male or female as long as she can suck them emotionally dry and get rammed with a strap on in the process.

Ok - prelim review..not liking Elementary. I didn't realize Lucy Lui wasn't going to be a detective along with Johnny Lee Miller- not digging the sober companion angle.

Disco - just watching Modern Familly. Cracking up over the discussion about Poetry Camp and which walking sticks to bring.

BTW - how have I missed out on Gerard Butler all these years? Saw him on Graham Norton. Wow.

Oh, I know... I first saw Gerard in Timeline.... (cuz you know I'm a history freak) and wow...
BUT..... he's been with like every actress in Hollywood. Kind of wouldn't touch that pole with a 10 foot pole.

I'm kind of on the fence about 666. They maybe should have gone for straight camp or straight scary, it was all over the place.

BUT, it follows Revenge, so I'll probably give it a shot for a few more episodes.

Amazing Race seems to have stepped up it's game a bit this year, starting off with a rappel from the bridge was cool. Can't say I'm terribly invested in any of the teams though.

I HATE that it's on against Once Upon a Time, and no, I don't have a DVR. We may need a tech thread for gadgets, I need some updating, and there are so many options now that I am not using. On Demand, Blu Rays that stream, I'm getting a bit lost finding the most cost efficient way to do all of this. /lameness

Mariah, my DVR comes from my cable company. The DVR service is part of my package and they give me the box to make it work. The OnDemand stuff is available thru the same box at no extra cost to my cable plan.

Most blu ray players (and many gaming systems) now come equipped with a wireless chip built in. This means that if you have a wireless network in your house, your video device can be set up to connect to it. If you do that, you can access Netflix Instant Streaming and Amazon video services.

I love Revenge. I wish I didn't delete the recap episode but I watched last night. So much going on.

Watch Homeland if you haven't but last season would be a shame to miss so if you can start there or rent it.

I enjoy Modern Family but don't think it holds a candle to shows like Seinfeld which we started watching again on reruns. I gave it a long break. Never thought Friends was that great either. Thought it was stupid. Loved Curb Your Enthusiasm and hope they have another season. I'll re-up with HBO if they put it back on. I'm not a big sit-com person these days.

Anyone catch The Good Wife last night? I have it on tape. Love that show too.

Amazing Race was just 'meh for me last night. I think I'm really getting over all competitive reality shows, at first I thought it was singing shows, but now I can't get into TAR or Survivor either.

I don't know that Vanessa Williams can carry a show - I hope her part in 666 is minor b/c I don't believe her track record is all that great.

I love The Good Wife, but I was disappointed with the first show. I really want to see more of Kalinda, but not in elevator kick boxing scenes and sex scenes. I want to know more of her background.

And the kid in the car plot was lame.

Major Crimes was good this week though, I have to rethink not watching it. I love Tao.

I like a dose of Modern Family now and then but I agree it can't hold a candle to Seinfeld or Curb or Frasier, for that matter.

Yeah, I wasn't that thrilled with the Good Wife either. Although I did love when the trustee stuck it to David.

I loved how Nathan Lane underplayed his part, for a pleasant change.

Anyone watch Call the Midwife on PBS. Interesting drama on late 50's midwifery in the East End of London. Conditions seem more like the 20's than the 50's. Hard to believe life of the poor was so dire there postwar. First episode OK, I'm going to keep watching.
