Loving Anthony Bourdain's new show. Hopefully there will be a lot of reruns, I only caught the very end of Libya, but did see the Peru one tonight.

The only thing better than Tony is Tony with Eric Ripert.

I just love the way this man writes. I have several of his books, but they way he sums up the history of the Congo in a few short, vivid paragraphs is remarkable.

A producer interview, pretty interesting. Never fly in the Congo.

I'm getting caught up on all of the seasons of shows I missed. I splurged for Hulu Plus while waiting this week for my direct tv to get set up. Here's what I got - what order should I do?

Mob Wives - You know I'm a reality addict. I can't believe Renee is blaming Jr. for her drug addiction. On E3

Scandal - I just can't get into it. I watched the pilot twice, once when it first aired and again yesterday. Tell me it gets better.

Revenge - haven't gotten to S2 yet, but I did squee when I saw it on there.

Once Upon a Time - Season 2 season premier, didn't grab me either.

Revenge season two sucked. Got it's showrunner fired, not sure if the season 3 will come back up to season one standards or not. I never could get into Once Upon a Time, probably because it aired when TAR was on.

OMG, Congo episode has just begun and I'm already RIVETED. This is AMAZING. Yeah, in all caps.

I watch Scandal but seriously don't know why. HATE the fast talking like they are in some kind of contest. Guess I watch it because it entertains me enough. Sometimes I lose track of what's going on. Don't get the Quinn story nor do I like her. The ex spy guy is just too weird. Maybe I shouldn't watch it at 10 when I'm so tired.

This Congo episode is just so fascinating.

Maybe because one of my very good friends grew up in the Congo, as part of the Belgium government people. Listening to her stories of horror and savages and watching Bourdain tell "the other side of the story" is riveting to me. Veronique was, and is not a racist, except about the Congolese, she used to say they were savages. Of course, she was there from the ages of about 3 to 14, so she only has a child's memories of horrors.

Now Bourdain talking about the Belgians killing over half of the population, and cutting off the hands of many others for not producing enough--just wow.

This show is breaking my heart. Goma, the bracelet that chief gave Tony...wow.

I also so much loved the book THE POISONWOOD BIBLE, long before Oprah recommended it.

I'm not the fan of the chicken killing part of the show, but damn, even that shows the difficulties of simply eating there.

Sorry for being such a fangirl, but I really am loving this show.

Is anyone watching Mistresses? What can I say, I'm a sucker for bad cheese. I have a feeling it's gonna get yanked soon, but I find it entertainingly bad. I think in my heart of hearts I want a replacement for Lipstick Jungle - yeah I'm one of two people who watched that mess.
