Did anyone watch that "Rich Kids of Beverly Hills" show? Where are we talking about it, here, or in the BH threads somewhere?

I finally caught a tiny bit of it. I saw that one brat charge $488,000 or something in one store and nearly threw up. Another saying that she'd just buy a new purse and shoes when a friend spilled drinks on hers. (Total cost somewhere in the thousands.) Oh, and another brat talking about $60,000 Birkins.

So many people I know are struggling right now, really struggling. Honestly, it made me sick in a way the RH's shows have mostly avoided doing. The distance between the "haves" and "have nots" with all of the minimum wage jobs out there now, and the middle class struggling hard just to hold on, but mostly disappearing is making me feel political. One of the "cheap" Birkin bags these assholes buy could pay off crippling cancer debt for someone very close to me. I felt nauseous watching them.

Maybe it was because the entire show was about spending massive amounts of money? At least the RH go through the motions of distracting fights or something?
Disclaimer: I only saw about 1/2 an hour and listened to the other half an hour while doing other things.

That said, all I could think of besides how ANNOYING their voices are, is how embarrassed I would be if those were my 'kids' and by kids of course they mean mid twenties: living at home, doing nothing but spending money and worrying about someone having the same things as they have, freaking out over chipped manicures, and spending an entire show patting themselves on the back for organizing(?) and/or attending a blood drive. Good grief.

All the ho-wives over the top spending never really bothered me (remember S1 of RHOOC when they put the prices of everything onscreen, lol) because it was their own money (and in some cases debt) and that's what drives the economy.

But these assholes don't have any money as far as I can tell - they are spending the parent's money. Also, and most importantly, it seems to be all these people care about.

Kind of makes you understand people shouting at Marie Antoinette, "off with her head!" doesn't it?

I swear, this country thinks it's immune to revolution when a mere 238 years ago (SHORT in historical measurement) we HAD a doozy of one against one of the (then) most powerful countries on earth.

I'm not going to watch anymore, I hate feeling political, wishing there was no such thing as inherited wealth, and wanting a massive redistribution of funds.

Yes, you are right, watching people basically making and spending their own money doesn't get my blood boiling, but this show seriously does. Selfish, materialistic brats spending enough for a fucking purse to feed thousands of starving people for months. Or you know, pay for 40 homeless families to have an apartment to get out of the freezing weather for the winter. It's one reason Adrienne makes me physically ill, but she's gone now.

Something is very wrong with all of this.

* don't worry, not watching anymore, so my embarrassing political rants will stop now * :$

This is random, but...was up late with a sick child last night and put on the Game Show Network. The show Pyramid was on and the celebrity guests were Aida Turturro from the Sopranos and her cousin, Nicholas, who was on Blue Bloods and NYPD Blue. I am not exaggerating when I say that they might be the two stupidest people on the planet. At the end of one game where there was a potential to get 21 points, the score was something like 3 to 4.

LOL andme.

Maybe that's why we never saw much of Aida on the talk shows etc. during the Sopranos.

OMG, Cosmo. It was almost painful to watch. Aida seemed to have a little self-awareness and realized she wasn't doing great. But Nicholas thought he was doing a bang up job with clues for cat like "this thing has a head".

Unfortunately I think they put these shows on for just the reason that is making you sick Mariah. It is truly absurd and if that's what they want to do then they'll see how vapid they are later in life. If nobody watched it would go off the air. Sounds like it's worse that rich kid show about private school kids in NYC a few years back. It's all material stuff and gross. I don't even think most of it is attractive but that's what our society has become. It's quite sad but as long as people watch and want to see "how the other .05% live" Bravo will continue to film these brats. Since the only thing they can't buy is fame this is the way for them to do it - reality shows.

Does anyone watch House Hunters? I just watched one that was a rerun from 2012 or 2013. It was a professional baseball player and his wife and kid looking for a house in Vegas. She was parading around all high-falutin. Appalled that the house had carpet, etc, etc. For some reason, I decided to google him. Well, shortly after the show, Mr Baseball Player accosted a woman at a Vegas hospital who was on a gurney waiting for treatment. He grabbed her breast, told her she was beautiful and that he would take care of her. He was apparently drunk and couldn't remember how he got there.

I met her once out in Montauk at Peter Beard's benefit. She seemed sweet and down to earth. Didn't have a convo though and nobody talks about the business at these things. It was a casual thing.

New polygamy show starting. Ugh. My 5 Wives. They still live in Utah, for now. I'm sure Utah will run them out as well, almost time for early election campaigns.

Spoiler: click to toggle

How did I miss this thread? Wow. 48 pages ... I tried to read from the beginning, but too much water under the bridge. Just two questions: any discussion that I should search for HOUSE OF CARDS or any discussion about ONE TREE HILL?

I haven't seen House of Cards, but I've heard great things about it.

Anyone else watching Black List or Intelligence?

They are doing old Johnny Carson interviews on TCM today. It's kind of fun. Jimmy Stewart is on now. 15 minute shows.

So - i'm watching the new Bravo show "Online Dating Rituals of the American Male" Sigh, this is what my life has been reduced to. Is anyone else watching it?

Firstly I'm an avid online dater...it's a necessary evil, and I can't figure out what sites they are 'using' I'm trying to figure out just how fake this show is. So far i'm 5 minutes in and none of this stuff can be real. It just can't be. The white guy is especially annoying.
