I just couldn't get into Homeland.

American Horror Story - Wed nights on FX. I highly recommend last season. This season is a whole new 'story' so you can catch on easily, but the story so far isn't hooking me like last season. Last season I was hooked from day one. I mean, a gimp - up till AHS I thought that meant someone who walked with a limp. Little did I know it was someone who dressed in the latex suits as a fetish.

So funny - I turned my friend onto Homeland and she watched all the episodes in 2 days. It's great to watch like that especially on bad days so no judgments from me. I did that with the first season of madmen. Just one after the other when I was sick. I'm all caught up on Dexter and Homeland now.

Going to the Good Wife. It's apparent that they had a sado-masochistic relationship. I hope that we get more background because so far we have none but he's my husband.

I loved Episodes, both seasons.

I am late to it but just watched House of Lies on Showtime On-Demand. Hilarious. And I think my favorite new comedy show this year has been Veep. I've watched every episode 2-3 times.

Can someone quickly break down Homeland and American Horror Story to me? Like what kind of shows they are - good acting, drama, what? I've seen promos for Homeland and I don't know if I'd like it.

OMG, Freely...I love House of Lies and Veep, too. Did you see the episode where Julia Louis-Dreyfuss has a bathroom issue in the yogurt shop?

Homeland deals with a POW who comes home. There's a CIA agent who think that he's been "turned". The whole first season focuses on his adjustment back to life at home and whether or not he's really an enemy. Claire Danes is awesome it.

Thanks andme! I'll try some new shows.

I think my favorite episode of Veep is the last one with Congressman no-chin. I love all the characters. I think it's a brilliant show.

Like andme said, it's a story about a CIA agent and a returning American POW from Iraq. It's definitely a thriller. Stellar acting/writing/directing.

I didn't know Russell Brand had a show. I may have to check that out.

Some gossip about Dancing With The Stars hookups. Probably 2/3rds true. Ha.

This season has had some amazing dancing, was over this show but I'm back in, at least for now.

Does anyone have any sitcom/comedy suggestions?

I kind of gave up on Parks and Rec, and 30 Rock. I like edgier comedies, I guess. I've never watched many of the network shows (like 2 1/2 men). I liked Weeds, but gave up on Nurse Jackie after the first season. What am I missing on Showtime and HBO (or network) that's good? (I do like Modern Family.)

The one that is something like "Don't trust the B in apartment 3-B" is pretty good.

Freely:

American Horror Story -
Season 1 - A couple buys a house that is cursed. It's the site of muliple horrific murders over the years. Each episode starts with a vingiette of previous owners/victims. I all goes back to a sadistic doctor and his wife who lost a baby. I won't ruin anymore. The house is haunted by all the old victims and slowly drives the couple mad. The neighbor (Jessica Lang) also has some weird goings on in her house too.

Season 2 - Just started takes place in an asylum that's run by Jessica Lang's nun back in the 1950s. She's pious, yet twisted, but ultimately good in that she suspects the good doctor is up to no good. The church has hired a doctor who experiments on patients it seems. A journalist is in the mix b/c there's a 'serial' killer Bloody Face (I know, but it's the 50s) who was recently committed awaiting trial and the journalist wants an interview. Sneaking around she ends up getting injured (by what?) and Jessica Lang blackmails her partner - yes she's a lesbian in the 50s who's closeted - into declaring the journalist mentally unsound. This is so Jessica can keep the lesbian in the asylum and 'cure her.' The accused serial killer is a White man accused of killing his Black wife - however he maintains...stay with me...that it was Aliens. Yeah the Alien angle doesn't thrill me.

Andme - Kamu is good. Glad you like it. He's backed by Chris Rock. He started around the time The Burn started. Kamu got another 7 episodes, it doesn't look like The Burn has. Brand X - I Lasted 10 minutes, though I hear it was retooled.

I keep waiting for a show to replace my beloved Best Week Ever from VH1 - before it got taken over by the horrid Paul F Tompkins and his unfunny ass.
