andme, I bailed on True Blood the third season. I am watching The Leftovers - but I'm not too sure about it yet. Two hours in and they are basically still introducing characters. I'm going to read the book instead because it seems like a good dark story (my favorite kind) but it's going too slow. Edited by Cosmocrush, Jul 11 2014, 11:57 PM.

Is The Leftovers a new show? Worth taping? Has anyone else watched the British shows starring Steve Coogan playing Alan Partridge? They're really old, but I can watch them over and over and they still crack me up. |

andme, The Leftovers is a new HBO show. Justin Theroux, Liv Tyler star but it's a big cast. It sounded interesting but I'm not sure it's translating well to TV (based on a book I haven't read) It's about a small town in NY three years after a 'Rapture' like event where 2% of the world's population just vanished - athough it seems like far more than 2% of this town was involved. It's two episodes in but you have to start from the beginning so check out OnDemand. The biggest problem I have is there are about six different storylines at least. I've never seen that show but I do watch old reruns of Friends without any shame because they still crack me up. |

Thanks, Cosmo. Sounds like another Game if Thrones where half the time I have no freakin clue what's going on. I watched the first episode of Leah Remini's reality show. Entertaining, and you get Scientology scoop. |

Lol about Game of Thrones. I stopped that a while ago - I really had no idea what was going on. But yep, I'm finding Leftovers rather hard to follow and since there are probably only 10 or 12 episodes I probably won't make it. Instead, I'm catching up on Masters of Sex (Showtime) because it's starting it's second season and I never saw the first. So far, it's pretty goo. Oh I wanted to add Leah Remni's show to my dvr. What channel is it on? |

Strikeback kind of reminds me of Homeland. My husband loves it. Blacklist is sooo good. You will love it. Burn Notice is a spy drama with a lot of action and humor. And your husband may not like it, but Masters of Sex is really good, too! Edited by andme, Jul 13 2014, 02:58 PM.

Thanks andme. I can't help but not like anyone in Hollywood willing to publicly quit Scientology. Bummer she ended up on that TLC - the home of The Best Funeral Ever but I'll give it shot. I like that it's only 30 minutes too. I always thought Bethenny Ever After would have been really good if Bravo would have cut it to 30 minutes. |

I don't know how much action is involved and the last two seasons are pretty dark, but Breaking Bad is good. Not action, but it's tough to beat Mad Men. For newer series, we just started Masters of Sex and liking it. Hard to beat Homeland though. I never saw Blacklist, maybe that will be next. |

I will look them up. We have every freaking channel and netflix, and he watches nothing. Self-employed and all that, so it's work, work, work all the time. We are trying to get back on a series. I am limiting myself basically to the Ho's with another show here and there if I catch them. |
