Who Is watching the affair?...it's so sex charged. I can't believe he got nominated over Alison. She puts him to sham. This week was sick. What a great actress

I saw it, CC! It is such a slow-burning show. I really like Helen. I am not sure if they intended on making her character unlikeable, because she is really sympathetic. Joshua Jackson is way out of his league with this cast - McNulty, Allison, Helen - they all blow him out of the water. He cannot act except by raising his voice.

Your my hero..

I just watched the first five minutes of the finale four times. It was just too hot with one of my favorite songs. It was simply perfect. It's my life and I'll do what I want ... Perfection

Oh I think Helen is supposed to be one of those ambiguous characters I really nerver liked Maura on any show. I find her always acting the same but she isn't in this too often so I don't mind. She also gets third billing for some reason. I think she's a sympathetic spoiled brat

Transparent on Amazon is quite good. Never heard of the affair. Going to start watching the Americans next.

I watched The Affair. Thought it started out very slow paced, but I was fascinated by the acting, especially Ruth Wilson. She is mesmerizing. Then I let it slide for a while, and ended up watching the final three episodes in a row. They were really good, well worth watching. The show has many flaws, all this two ways of looking at things is too hard to keep track of, some of the characters, like the murder victim, don't stand out at all. Frankly I was hard put to remember who he was when they were referring to Scotty.

And to end the season the way they did? Ridiculous. No one is going to remember all the details when they start season two. A bit more should have been revealed. I read that they renewed it in the middle of the season, so of course, as with Mad Men, had to muddle with the ending so there would be something for season two. The ending did seem to be a while later. They have a baby, or somebody's baby, and seem quite prosperous. Alison's calendar is full, doing what, who knows?

Love Maura Tierney, Mare Winningham, Maura's mother (she lives in my neighborhood), but Ruth Wilson just knocked me off my feet. I've put a couple of things of hers on my to watch list.
Don't like Dominic West or maybe it's just that his character has such ridiculous lines.

I hope in the next season, they just wrap up this murder thing, and move ahead quickly to their lives now. I'd like to see more of Helen.

Ruth Wilson will be on B'way in a play starting very soon. I saw an ad for it. She is simply terrific. That scene in the car with her cutting was insane. So sad she didn't get the nomination. DW does have some dumb lines especially the way he told Helen he was leaving.

Did anyone watch True Detective on HBO? We just finished episode 5 of 8, and it is great. Matthew McConnaughy and Woody Harrelson star. Two police detectives in Louisiana trying to solve a serial murder. They announced they are going to do a new season with different detectives. I don't know if it will be set in La. or not. But it is great. We are binge watching. MM is great in it.
