Well, HBO's Veep is good but it's not playing now. I never thought of Nurse Jackie as a comedy even though TWoP lists it as one. They sure don't make 'em like they used to. Confession: I stil watch Friends reruns and they still make me laugh out loud. While making dinner or in the kitchen I generally listen to msnbc but every now and then I'm just not in the mood and flip to Friends reruns on some cable channel - maybe TBS and even though I've seen every episode at least twice I think it's still funny. Not really edgy, but funny. American Horror Story sounds good Shopper. Can someone just start at S2 without having seen S1? |

yep cosmo....total reboot with 2nd season of AHS Oh and good comedy recommendation is Happy Endings, very quick, though a lot of the references are for children of the late 70s early 80s like myself. Focuses on a group of 30somethings in (I think) Chicago. Damon Wayan's kid is in it and he's hysterical. So is Elisa Cuthburt. It's the little show that could and I believe it's starting it's 3rd season. Last year it made it to ET Weekly Cover. Edited by Shoppergal, Oct 22 2012, 07:23 PM.

Freely - have you watched It's always sunny in Philadelphia? Also, I read that Arrested Development is coming back...not sure where, tho. There was a funny show on IFC or Sundance a few years ago called ZRock. I don't think it's on anymore. Hilarious. Edited by andme, Oct 23 2012, 12:27 AM.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll try Happy Endings and look for ZRock. I tried to get in to It's Always Sunny and enjoyed some of it, but for some reason it ended up depressing me. I only saw the first season. I'm a big fan of Arrested Development. Its return next year is supposed to be only via Netflix, which I bet is going to be more of a problem than the producers think. I'm one of the people who will re-join Netflix just to see it, though. |

I don't know what's with AR return. First a movie. Now a show. Now you're telling me netflix. Who knows? It keeps changing. So clever. I watch Nurse Jackie. Love it but always hate when they get sober - always gets too serious. I like lushes. I must try that Joey show. I enjoyed Friends but never to the extent of Seinfeld so I really don't watch the reruns. I did start to watch Seinfeld again since I haven't watched them in years and my husband never saw all of them but LOVES it. Sitcoms pretty much suck these days imho. I find nothing funny about 2.5 men. I think I just enjoy crime dramas and mysteries more unless the comedies are awesome. Love Curb |

Oh Nurse Jackie -yeah good one too. Kitten Mittens - that's the only thing I know of Always Sunny. I could watch that clip all damn day. Kitten Mittens at Paddy's Pub I like Charlie Day (?) and he was funny as hell in Horrible Bosses - I really should give Philly a shot b/c the clips I see always have me smiling. |

I've also been watching re-runs of Frasier, and I barely watched it, if at all, the first time it was on. That is a remarkably well done little sit com. Sure, once in a while you can see the set ups coming from a mile away, but the entire cast has a charm and skill level that comes together to make a pretty great ensemble cast. I don't think we ever even see Maris, Nile's wife, but she's fully fleshed out and funny as hell and never even on screen. That takes some good writing and good acting to pull off. I could watch "Niles" forever. |

i remember hearing someone talk abut midwife ranjake - but it might have been you..lol. Nope that's to highbrow for my tastes. Here's my speed: Houstons On Our Own: Where the most interesting person in the family is already dead. (not gonna lie, I stole that last part from someone over at TWOP). I have this on the DVR and it's virtually screaming at me "Watch me" Bobby K is drunk and stoned in every scene. |
