I skimmed down this page so fast that I wouldn't see anything. I JUST got into Downton Abbey. I finished season one on Amazon Prime last night. I was watching it with my husband but he's too slow. Season 2 tonight!

I was impatient so I'm all caught up except for the very last Christmas episode, which I'll watch tonight. I'm going to be going through some serious Downton withdrawls!!! When will season 4 start up???

Downton dork that I am, I participated in a PBS internet chat with Allen Leech (Branson) today- and it was really FUN! He said the scripts are great- and they begin filming again in 2 weeks- but he didn't answer when they'll air again in the UK- and the PBS moderator didn't answer when I (nicely) asked if PBS can air "Downton" in the US when it airs in the UK.

All caught up. This waiting ain't going to be fun. Why does it take them so long to shoot and air the show when they really don't have that many episodes each season?

If I'm not mistaken, the season usually starts in the UK in the fall.... so starting to film soon, editing, marketing, etc.... sounds about right for fall? I wonder too, why PBS can't air it the same time as in the UK. When do the PBS stations usually have their big push donations? Maybe that's it.
From what I understand, Season 3 of Downton Abbey was released on DVD yesterday. Guess once DA is over I'll have to be satisfied with Game of Thrones, The Borgias and Mad Men until we get Season 4. But I do so agree with you, Willy!

Just got "The Chronicles of Downton Abbey" coffee table book in the mail- see I'm a Downton dork :) I was wary of buying it- but it's really beautiful- I'm so pleased with it.

I know the UK people get our series later than we do, even shows like the Ho's. I don't know why that is but I'm sure there is a reason for it.

ETA, found this:

Why doesn’t Downton air simultaneously in the U.K. and U.S. (so that we may avoid horrible spoilers of the Christmas-ruining variety)?
The producers took extra precautions to prevent the secrets and twists of season three from spilling; paparazzi-blocking security was added to location shoots, and scripts were marked with code names. So if Neame had his way, U.S. audiences would get to share in the first viewing. “In this day and age, it’s clearly ridiculous that people watch the show in England four months early and 1.5 million people in America go and watch it illegally,” he said. “If I were PBS and I had the biggest drama I’d ever had in my entire 40-year history, I would be sorting my schedules out to make sure I was airing it more quickly.” PBS didn’t shoot down the idea of airing future seasons of Downton earlier, but said “technical hurdles and financial considerations” have prevented it in the past. And by airing in January, PBS avoids having to compete with the glut of new shows that the broadcast networks premiere in the fall. “Obviously, spoilers and piracy are two key reasons supporting the case to air Downton Abbey closer to the U.K. broadcast,” a rep for Masterpiece told Vulture. “The conversation about scheduling will continue.”

"Downton" Marathon on superbowl Sunday- starting at 4 :) We had a yucky storm here last night- and I have Sandy PTSD and so does Jake :( But the power stayed on, the Cable stayed on- and free Downton season 2 on demand got me thru :)

Casting Stuff, they are looking for a "posh and pretty" boy toy for Lady Mary.

Actual Season 4 possible spoilers in article, so just in case, don't click on the link if you don't want to know.

Well since I haven't watch DA - which is quite surprising - I'll rent the entire thing and watch in 3 days one day. Anyway

anyone watching Person of Interest? I think it's been just awesome this season. I didn't think it could get better but it did
