From what I could tell, Edith is going to go get her baby girl from whoever she'd left her with since it sounds like there was no formal adoption. She's made an arrangement with that dude (who I think is the one who rents or farms part of their land? I forget who exactly he is, something like that and he and his family have lived there for years). She'll pay him and in return he and his wife will raise the baby as one of their own. So she'll be close by and Edith can be a part of her life from a distance but she didn't tell him that she is the mother (although I think he suspects). He won't tell his wife the truth about the baby but will simply tell her it's the daughter of an old friend of his who died. It also sounds like they are saying that baby Daddy took exception to the crap the early Nazi's were spouting and they didn't appreciate it. I don't know if they're trying to say they killed him or have taken him to some kind of early Nazi prison camp or what. |

I think Baxter just said to Mr Molesley that she's scared of something in her past being exposed, and Molesley said it might be better to live with it exposed than to live in fear; but she didn't say what it is. I don't like Ms. Bunting, the schoolteacher, from the special at all, I want better for Branson. Interesting that it looks like it's shaping up to be Thomas vs. Tom Branson; interesting because in real life the actors are great friends. |

OK, I thought maybe they'd said what Baxter's secret was back when she first came on the show and I'd just forgotten. Maybe they never did say yet on purpose. I want to see Tom go all I live upstairs now bitch on Thomas' ass. |

I think that would be awesome! About the xmas special- I found Giamatti oddly attractive, and was sad that Thomas is now a straight villain- I liked him better as a more complex character. I found Lady Rose more likable than Lady Mary, and Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith) blew me away- amazing acting. |

So Bates probably did kill Mr. Green. How did Mary know about the rape? |

Just saw this. Mary knew about the rape because Mrs. Hughes told her. When Lord Grantham was going to America to deal with Cora's brother, Mr. Bates would normally have gone on the trip with him. But Bates was going to refuse to go because he felt Anna needed him home and Anna said he'd lose his job if he did that. So Mrs. Hughes ended up telling Mary what happened to Anna and Mary convinced her father to take Thomas instead, although she didn't tell him why. |

Yeah, I watched last night. Pretty chilling when Bates realized that it was the man he suspected at that dinner table! Also pretty wonderful having Mary out there slopping around in mud with the pigs. Very nice episode last night! |

I liked it when Mrs. Hughes told the rapist off. |
