Do you mean the guy who played Larrick?

He was blackmailed by the Russians because he was gay. So he was forced to work with them. Anyway, the last thing they had him do was give them information about that base, where it all went wrong and they had to kill several people. He was wracked by guilt that he caused "his brothers" to die. He decided to turn both himself and the Russians in. He would have been executed as a traitor, but felt that was better than being the Russian's tool any longer. For his last act he wanted to stop the Russians, at any cost to himself, trying to make what amends he could.

yep and I don't remember the beginning of the storyline at all. Must have been in the kitchen and didn't pause. Anyway - he's dead and gone.

His story began in the first season I believe. He might have been the first one they "ran."

I must have missed a few first season episodes as well. Hopefully they'll do a marathon!

There must be a hundred reviews of this show, and most of them are just raving about it. The only quibble was the kid being able to talk for so long and so clearly as he died. Even that isn't very bad though. I'm so glad they wrapped up that story, and now it's leading to an even bigger story. What will they do about Paige and the KGB?

Another nice article, from Vanity Fair, which goes into details about the accuracy of the show as it depicts spies, both then, and now.

Wow. Finally watched both seasons. Can't wait for number three.

The kid killing his parents really surprised me.

Lol, can you imagine having a spy wife and family, a spy job, a travel agent job, and...Martha.

So glad the FBI agent didn't give them information. Too bad he didn't work harder on his marriage.

Felicity - um, Keri Russel - left her husband and now is with Philip! Philip and Elizabeth, together in real life. Hopefully it works out for them. Or something.

I love this show so much, I can't WAIT until it's back! Glad you finally watched!

Wow Oleander, I didn't know that! They do have some intensely sexy and emotional scenes on this show, I've never really believed that all actors can completely remove themselves from the emotions/desire of that.

Yes She is. Cold fish. Philip is the conflicted one to me and ones across as having a heart

I haven lot of Russian friends here in NYC and sometimes I cant stnd them. Honestly. They are so cold and rough on their kids. Also so many classes. They must know everything. Many are also bigots but that's for another time. It sickens me at times

Russians (that I've met) have a really dark sense of humor, but they've been the kindest, sweetest people once that shell comes off. Maybe I've been very lucky? Maybe my wonderful accent, but terrible and rusty grasp of their grammar just cracks them up? I don't think I've met many Russians who don't cook for me, either right when we meet, or soon after. I agree though, very tough on the outside, and almost taciturn, but in my experience, that melts away so quickly...

Question about the last episode. Do you think the Stan didn't give info to the Russians to save Nina because he realized his that she was double-crossing him? I thought maybe when the Russian told him not to tell her he loved her so much that Stan realized that she'd been talking.

I hate how Stan treats his wife.

Martha is a strange bird. Wonder why she would put up with a "marriage" like that? Phillip must be a dynamo in bed. His toupee cracks me up.

Was bummed when Larrick was killed. He had issues, but he was one of the few Americans who seemed competent.

I always felt that Stan realized that he's just not cut out for treason, but that comment MAY have opened his eyes a little bit more. It's a tough call on that one.

Oddly enough, apparently having "Martha" types was pretty standard back in the cold war, imbedded spy days. Somewhere I read about that, and one of their (former CIA) advisers was talking about how often that happened back in the day. I loved how they finally addressed that Martha knows he wears a rug. That was bugging me.

I think the whole daughter story is going to bring things to a read head, they are already wavering in their loyalty to Mother Russia, and that may just do it.

Yeah, that's gonna be interesting.

Another question - was Kate having sex with the kid to turn him?

Kate was the other Russian spy right? If so, yeah, definitely. I'm getting foggy on my memory, it's been so long, but definite seduction of the kid.

Sex was also an oft used method.

I still think that church group showed up in the daughter's life MUCH too "right when she needed it." So far, that hasn't played out, but I still wonder if it will, and someone involved in it is a spy. They did deny that in the excellent AV article linked above though.

Wow 12 pages. I'm only three episodes in but I still have Saturday and Sunday to binge watch. I'll try and catch up. So far I'm digging it. Not sure why I didn't try it off the bat. I think the period was a turn off. So far I like everything on FX but Justifies. I should have known. Lol.
