Wow cc! That is so cool.

ranjake, I hadn't heard that but I think those two have some serious chemistry onscreen.

oh I have no idea about that gossip. Got something to google today. Anyway - a costar role just means that you are on for one episode and it's 3 lines. Series regular is one that is on all the time. So it's quite different but I was excited bc I love the show. Small call. I had no idea they were taping it. Usually they have a call and then a cb with taping. She had to do it twice and then an improv on the scene - not her best talent but she had fun. I don't get much info from a 7 yo

I'm tempted to ask you what lines she had to say, I'm a spoiler-lover. ;)

Oh they were totally uneventful. We didn't get a full script for the episode. Just the one sheet - it's a kid going to school. No storyline reveal at all and if it were I couldn't tell you bc it would be confidential but I'm being honest it was just a tiny page.

They've been doing a few reruns. Hopefully they will do a full catch-up marathon before the next season begins (Feb 26th?) I guess a lot of shows are waiting until the Olympics are over to start up again. I think this one might be going head-to-head with Mad Men though. :(

doesn't really matter since on the cable channels they rerun often. It's harder on network shows. Hot Shot!

Great shot! I'm not worried about who they go up against. A lot of cable shows do back to back broadcasts the same night - one right after another and of course there is the dvr.

True. It's also up against Game of Thrones I think. I just want them to get ratings so they can continue.

Mad Men will always be my first choice, but The Americans is right behind it.

Yeah, that is a GREAT photo. Well done to the models and the photographer!

That photo is KILLER. Keri Russell is ugh, damned gorgeous.

Some cagey tv reviewers are saying season 2 is far superior to season 1 -- I cannot wait. I happen to be the cheese that stands alone on 'House of Cards' - I think it's just not good, sunk by the plots and writing no matter the source material and that Spacey and Wright ain't all that. So I'll get my DC-area highly scripted drama fix from F/X. Season 1 is also streaming free if you have Amazon Prime.

This Wednesday, 2//26 at 10. I think I will actually be out at something then so I'll have to DVR the first episode at least.

I'm really excited to see the aesthetics -- I seriously could not get enough of Elizabeth, Sandra and Nina's looks and all of the disguises. I loved how the very early 80s were just sort of classic in terms of how these characters are dressed - the actresses could wear what they wore in season 1 and seamlessly blend into 2014. Wonder how far they'll jump into the 80s, and whether there will be feathered hair, shoulder pads, flashy jewelry and more synthetic fabrics this season...

Tonight!

Yay, so happy.

For people who haven't watched before, you'll catch on fast, love it, and can go back and read recaps on the first season (which, eventually, you will want to watch. It's so good.

The Americans is a period drama about the complex marriage of two KGB spies posing as Americans in suburban Washington D.C. shortly after Ronald Reagan is elected President.

The arranged marriage of "Philip" (Matthew Rhys) and "Elizabeth Jennings" (Keri Russell), who have two children – 14-year-old "Paige" (Holly Taylor) and 11-year-old "Henry" (Keidrich Sellati), who know nothing about their parents’ true identity – grows more passionate and genuine by the day, but is constantly tested by the escalation of the Cold War and the intimate, dangerous and darkly funny relationships they must maintain with a network of spies and informants under their control.

Their neighbor, "FBI Agent Stan Beeman" (Noah Emmerich) has already come dangerously close to discovering their secret, but was thwarted by "Nina" (Annet Mahendru), his KGB mole and paramour. Torn between his wife "Sandra" (Susan Misner) and his deepening feelings for Nina, Stan is completely unaware that the beautiful Russian is actually a double agent, reporting on him to the KGB. Philip has been more successful handling his mole within the FBI, "Martha" (Alison Wright), assistant to Stan’s boss, "Special Agent Gaad" (Richard Thomas). Romancing Martha under the guise of one of his cover identities, an FBI bureaucrat named "Clark," Philip has secured her unquestioning loyalty…by marrying her. Meanwhile, in the Jennings’ house, Paige has become increasingly suspicious that her parents are hiding something.
