That photo is KILLER. Keri Russell is ugh, damned gorgeous.

Some cagey tv reviewers are saying season 2 is far superior to season 1 -- I cannot wait. I happen to be the cheese that stands alone on 'House of Cards' - I think it's just not good, sunk by the plots and writing no matter the source material and that Spacey and Wright ain't all that. So I'll get my DC-area highly scripted drama fix from F/X. Season 1 is also streaming free if you have Amazon Prime.
I'm with you Camo. Just got to episode 7 or 8 on season one of House of Cards recently and I'm getting very bored. The ending is so predictable. The only character I like is the one I know is going to get royally screwed, I can just tell. And I love Robin Wright, but she is playing just too low key. She does use a handbag I sold on eBay, that made me happy.

I remember the British series it was based on, far better.

I just read great things about The Americans, so I think I may pick it up on my DVR.

http://www.tv.com/shows/the-americans-2013/community/post/the-americans-comrades-review-season-2-episode-1--139337033504/

Everyone should watch this. There is tension and emotion and action and high stakes for all of those things. The cast is AMAZING, and all of it believable and real. It's so very good.

Another good article.

And another.

(*I've forgotten the plot with the guy who wanted the $500K and the guy that shot him in the head twice. A little help?)

Mariah, Prince had high DOD security, and was working with someone in missile defense (that individual was actually leaking information to the Rezidentura - to the man who was in Arkady's position, until Nina and Stan set him up.) Elizabeth had to kill the contact in missile defense - he was getting 'jitters' and she approached him on foot in a park and shot him. She then approached Prince, in a new look -- black wig with bangs, red lipstick, leather. Prince gave Elizabeth tech plans, but then said that the Colonel had the real skinny, and set up the meeting that Philip attended with the Colonel. Before the actual meeting, Prince was picked up on a warrant for unpaid child support, but because of his security clearance, was immediately put into federal custody, and Stan was brought in to question him. He instinctively thought that Prince was hiding something, and left him in interrogation for many hours, and Prince eventually volunteered that he had information on the Colonel and spying, and wanted $500,000 for it.

Prince told the truth: he described Elizabeth as he knew her, explained that the Colonel was giving information about 'Star Wars' to the USSR, but never got the money because Stan and the FBI never found Elizabeth, and the Colonel had plausible deniability, by immediately reporting Prince to the FBI as a stalker when his meeting with Phillip and Granny was aborted (when Granny saw the signal that Arkady put on the Rezidentura cars, when Nina told him that she knew Stan's glee meant that the meeting was a set-up -- though it was the other meeting that was the set up.) What the Colonel told Phillip and Granny was that the US plans were 'incredibilis' - 50 years away at best, never going to happen. Very interesting thinking about that with Phillip in the season 2 premiere meeting Afghani resistance fighters, and him telling them ultimately, 'the KGB is everywhere.'

^^That was mega-convoluted, sorry dudes.

I loved the premiere: it was complex and interesting. The scene that Paige walked in on...trauma for life. There were 2 scenes that were trauma for life. I am fascinated by Nina -- she's so smart and reads people brilliantly. I love that the actress leaves a small bit of mystery as to whether some part of her loves Stan, or not.

Weaver, I hope you love the show-- it's streaming free on Amazon if you have a Prime account.

Thank you Camo!

Yeah, I love Nina's whole storyline too.

I think what I love most about this is how real all of the stories seem, and the way they seduce or trick people into becoming spies. This show always seems to surprise me too. Unfortunately, bad ratings for the premier, I really hope the raves it's getting prompt more people to watch.

OH, I'll tape tonight. Thanks. I tried to watch the first epi on On Demand, but you couldn't FF through commercials.

I'm not an Amazon Prime member, must look into it. I do Netflix and iTunes.

When you tape it, be sure to tape "extra" or the next show too, or you will miss the beginnings or the end. It always goes long.

I couldn't find epi one. I set up taping for epi two and three for tonight. It took me 30 minutes to do this, thank you TWC.

Epi one is only on OD,

On Direct TV it goes like this:

7PM-8:05PM New episode (Cardinal)

8:05-9:09 Repeat New episode

9:09-10:14 Season Premier episode (Comrades)

10:14-11:18 Repeat this week's episode

(I'm west coast, but I think I get the east coast feed on FX)

??? there is no 3rd episode yet ???

I know I DVRed epi two and epi three last night. At least that was how TWC labelled them. I might be wrong, I can hardly see their menu since they changed their format. Also, it takes me 30 seconds or more to scroll through each time slot. So it is extremely frustrating to find things. I'll look later for the names of the episodes.

Edited to say the two I have recorded are Comrades and Cardinal. So I guess I have the correct ones.
