I'd enjoy a Vicki's crazy family show, too. Just add vodka and watch the hijinks happen! I watched Ryan's rage again before I went to sleep last night and it's extremely clear that he does this shit all the time. Vicki's body language just screams that she's afraid of him and will do anything to placate his nasty ass. The way she immediately dropped her arm when he yelled at her not to hug Judy made my skin crawl. I think she's so worried about his rages that she's put up with his shit in order to keep Brianna and Troy close to keep them safe. There's not a doubt in my mind that he'd hit Brianna (if he hasn't already). Her making excuses for his insane behavior tells me he's been an abusive asshole for a long time. I bet he tells her that she's fat and she's lucky to have him. Anyone want to come over and wrestle donkeys this afternoon? It's hoof trimming day and sometimes they don't have very nice manners. I'm hoping they'll be tired from the heat and will behave. |

What is this trend to get one's drawers in a twist over some vague "disrespect" ? And how is someone putting their feet on a couch that doesn't even belong to you, disrespectful to you? |

It's not. Ryan seems to have appointed himself king of a castle that doesn't belong to him. And, I wonder why he didn't think it was disrespectful to blow Vicki off when she asked him to take out the garbage? Can you imagine how he treats any household help like a housekeeper or a gardener? |

Someone posted that Ryan should stay with protecting our country and forget about Vicki's couch. I was brought up that when you have invited guests into your home, you pretty much shut up about their bad manners, unless of course they really are trashing your house, or your name is Slade Smiley. |

He was so scary he almost made me cry. I come from a family of huge tempers but he is worse than I have ever seen my father. Scary shit man. Send him back to the front line. I love Lydia's mom and didn't she take her shoes off? Even if she didn't his reaction was so OTT. I hope he gets kicked out on his ass. Maybe Brooks and he can start an anger management group. It appears that creepy Brooks never gets angry (that is odd as well) and Ryan does all the time so they'll balance each other out. Make the group over in Iraq and we can see the last of them. As Ranjake will join me in - we watch those murders on ID channel before bed and it doesn't give us nightmares - Ryan made me want to throw up. He gives me nightmares. Get him off my TV. OK my diatribe is done. |

Or until you leave orange stains on white chairs on multiple visits. Then you'll get a bill for cleaning. |

I was so irked that he just blew off Vicki when she asked him to take out the trash and do something else. He is a control freak and totally is into dominating Vicki and Brianna. |

I was raised the same way Discomom. There is a great line in To Kill A Mockingbird where Calpurnia is scolding Scout for being rude to a guest in their home. She states "That boy is your guest and if he wants to eat the tablecloth, them we'll let him." That is pretty much our guest philosophy. Fortunately we choose our friends and therefore guests wisely and don't have wanton destruction. I firmly believe that Ryan's behavior has happened MANY times before. Brianna looked worn down when she was making excuses for him. When she was on the sofa upstairs and Vicki was talking with them she let out a huge sigh and just looked so defeated to me. That's why I can't jump on the "Brianna's an asshole" bandwagon, just yet. I see a young woman who was very naive about men (she and her boyfriend Colby were "saving themselves " until marriage) who has grown up under the reign of a controlling mother who has a complicated relationship with men (husbands, one night stands, lovers, whatever), and had a very serious health scare. I think she woke up at 24-25, however old Brianna is and decided to jump at the first male that gave her any attention. Now she will be paying for that bad decision the rest of her life. I do not think this is going to end happily for her. |

I feel the same way dilbert. I don't blame Brianna for Ryan's behavior. I do feel bad for her because this jerk is going to be part of her life for the rest of her life. Ryan is going to be someone who ends up in prison or worse if doesn't do something about his anger. That shit was out of control. I don't know how Vickie has been able to stand him living in her house - except that I'm sure she thinking more about Brianna and the baby than Ryan. Ryan whom she never really even knew until after Brianna married him. Anyway, I think it half-way explains why she was willing to go along with the "No Crooks" rule if this is how he reacts to a party guest of hers I can't imagine what he would about Crooks. On the other hand, if he went off and clobbered Crooks it would solve two problems; he'd be locked up and Crooks might skeedadle back to the swamp he crawled out of to con Vickie. |

Let me just say that I have no idea if what I am about to type has any validity but... Has anyone else noticed the large scar on Ryan's forehead? He's been through a war zone before now and I wonder if he sustained a head injury. I wonder if that injury is part of the reason he's on such a hair trigger with his anger. Brain injury - particularly frontal lobe injury - can really change someone's personality. |

He seems so hair trigger. But the dismissive way he spoke to Vicki about the garbage made me think he is an arrogant prick to boot. Good point Momo. |
