Mea Culpa - she said Puff Daddy, and maybe he is back to going by that!

Carole is taking a ton of flack for saying that Aviva "What have you done? You are nothing, you have never worked outside the home."

Ramona definitely has a some sort of processing problem. When she is listening to people you can literally see her trying to process what the person is saying to her.

I saw the preview of this episode, which I rarely watch, but it made me froth at the mouth and write an essay!* I was that incensed and realized there's a trend with this sort of thing. Used to be women were unknown, even if they had tons of friends. OC first? No one knew any of them. Then NY and Bethenny Frankel, who had some current celebrity. Then BH with the Richards sisters and then Atlanta with Kenya Moore, former Miss USA. These people all have pasts that have value, which is different then their cast mates. So they have more to lose.

Who is Aviva? No one. Absolutely no one. Common as the day is long. If she hadn't lost her leg, she'd really be milquetoast. So for her to question a writer -- and yes, there are actually people who WRITE, Aviva -- or did Carole's ghostwriter hire a ghostwriter who hired a ghostwriter ... or is it that he's a MAN and men are the people who get things done in your world, from your Daddy to your husband to your publisher? Aviva, who can't fly on her own. Aviva, who doesn't work, but needs a nanny to raise her kids. Aviva, who is so exhausted from moving when she had workers up her butt. For her to question Carole in that way is really beyond the show -- she's damaging something that Carole brought with her that has genuine value. I really think it's one of the shittiest things I've ever witnessed.

As for her motive? Andy Cohen handed her that: make a change, make an impact or goodbye. She's on her last chance round and trying to make it count. But IMO she has gone further out on that fake limb and it's cracking behind her. I'm really disgusted. Can you tell? ;)

* Just my way of wrapping my brain around the clusterfuck that is Aviva D.
I despise Aviva - but she got on bc she is well connected. Her disgusting father is the first connection. The second is that she is friends with big PR people. I know this because she knows an old uni friend of mine's wife - if you can follow - and she did some bit parts on reality shows. She owns that PR company that is all PINK. Anyway - one day I need to do a flow chart in a way like 6 degrees of separation - kind of like the Kevin Bacon connection thing. She is a nobody though and a nasty one at that. I haven't watched this week's episode yet so I'll have more comments after I watch. Forgot it was even on and taped it at 7 tonight. Aviva got that keratin hair treatment. It's better than it was. Guess she got over being afraid of the chemicals.

I thought the funniest part was when Carole and Aviva walked out of that bedroom and Aviva's image consultant was standing there. She looked at the two of them and then got this "oh shit" look on her face.

So i just was reading over at TWOP...in the previews does it look like Carole gets physical with Aviva? Confronts her on a stairwell and grabs her chin? Did anyone see this? Ratface has a temper and is probably sorry she let Aviva get to her like that.

That's funny Willy, I didn't see her there. She will have an ulcer by the end of the season if the previews prove right. I wouldn't want to be Aviva's PR person.

Carole is right. Aviva probably never has worked. She has degrees. But they seem like they were vanity degrees in that, "Gee I am so smart, I have my J.D."

I honestly thing Aviva is pretty "nothing" in most viewers' eyes. She hasn't begun to approach the Jill Zarin levels as yet, but she's only had a short time to try. She may exceed her eventually, but mostly she just looks nuts.

I think that Carole meant more than just Aviva never had a paying job. Aviva can't seem to comprehend that other women actually do have paying jobs and aren't living off of Daddy or husband. Then you have Aviva whining about how difficult moving is when she has people at her house not just carrying stuff but literally packing for her. I'm sure a decorator came over and did that for her.

Finally realized who Carole reminds me of. The actress that played the lady cop shrink in the movie The Departed . Carole is the preppier version of her.

I'm up there and you're down here? REALLY. Is Aviva all right? Seriously. The comment up thread is right, Aviva got told to bring it this season or else. Just like Alwx on RHoNY allegedly findi g her voice in her third (?) season . It was the final season.

I was just reading at TWOP and I SWEAR this is Aviva! A brand new poster opened a brand new account to post this little gem.

I am in the minority here, for I find Carole's snark bewildering. For full disclosure, I had not been a fan of Aviva until I read her book. It surprised me how witty and delightful it was. Of all the Housewives, she has one of most fascinating story to tell (which made Heather's comment of who she was writing for all the more strange). It puts in perspective what it is was like have a disability, grow up in New York City, be raised by George, have a mother who was raging alcoholic and be married to a lay-about like Harry. By the way, Aviva had a successful jewelry design business after law school. There is much more to this woman than meets the eye.

Back to Carole, she quit her day job 15 years ago where she has has been living off of inherited wealth since her husband's death in 1999. She still is clinging to an identity that is pretty stale by now. Being a writer has a rather low barrier to entry. Isn't a writer essential someone who writes? I was amused when she said in her work product that there would not be a change of syllable unless she approved it. I believe that is standard operating procedure in publishing. She implied that she was more concerned about the a lyrical sentence structure, intimating that Aviva, a woman with a masters in a French and a law degree was somehow incapable of such high art. Is there any excuse for calling someone a "nothing" in their own home? I don't care if she feels that she was provoked.

I must have watched a different show than the rest of you.

Yep. Quacks like an Aviva, must be an Aviva. Funny. She sees no skill in writing, but wants credit for writing. Oh, let's face it -- anyone who has read Aviva's book MUST be Aviva or a friend. Is it even OUT? Gotta go check at amazon.com

ETA: Holy shit -- it came out in February. Did anyone ever hear Andy mention it, even once? Here's her author blurb ... uh, with bolded additions from me:

Quote:

She’s blond, beautiful, and brazenly honest about her fake leg— one of the boldest cast members of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City and most talked-about stars of reality TV with a fake leg. From the moment Aviva Drescher stepped her prosthetic leg into the spotlight, she sparked controversy and ratings as people proved they can't look away from car wrecks. Now, for the first time, the native New Yorker stands on her own two feet though one is fake, don't forget to speak out on her fascinating life.

With true courage since she's not flying or in an elevator, Aviva tells the story of how she lost her foot in a barn accident at the age of six and the numerous—sometimes bizarre— attempts to reattach it. After a trip to India to be “cured” by a famous mystic, young Aviva learned to use fashion and style to draw attention away from her prosthesis and started talking about it in a fit of LOOK AT ME-ism. She fled to Paris on one foot! brave girl! in her early twenties on one foot, where she transformed herself but still was missing a leg into a wild club chick and danced on tables hopping if her one surviving limb was tired with the crème de la crème of the big-hair supermodel era who all have two legs, but are all fatter than Aviva.

Through a series of tumultuous relationships, Aviva had four children by two two-legged husbands, changed religions, got a law degree, and became an entrepreneur. All the while, she wrestled though differently abled with chronic panic attacks and phobias (it’s not easy being terrified of elevators in Manhattan), and a few savage Law & Order–worthy civil courtroom dramas aka divorce & custody battles. The real terror of Aviva’s life, though, was her mother’s debilitating alcoholism worse than standard alcoholism. Thanks to her loving husband and chief enabler, Reid Drescher, Aviva came to terms with her mother’s early death, got a grip on her anxieties, and found the strength to show the world who she really is. And the world will never forgive, er, forget her.

In this no-holds-barred as long as they don't attack her prosthesis memoir, Aviva bravely exposes her fake leg the truth uniquely her own about her many medical and elective surgeries, and what really happens behind the scenes of reality TV which you've already heard from other more witty writers, but this is Aviva's chance to earn some coin, 'kay?. She also answers many frequently asked questions from Reid about amputees: How much does your prosthesis cost? How often do you replace it? Do you have sex with the leg on or off? Her father asked the last question.

Filled with Aviva’s trademark wit trademarked by Carole Radziwell, 20 years before, wisdom, and no-nonsense candor, Leggy Blonde is a story that stands all on its own. I got nothing.

I doubt if Aviva can write this well, must be a PR person.

I was pretty shocked when Aviva came out with her "its just like a long email" speech. She supposedly is educated. I think none of these people ever read real books. Remember when Bethenny was typing into her Blackberry and calling it "writing." It shows a lack of respect for the true writers.

I was kind of surprised that with her leg issues, she'd move into a two story apartment. But I guess the elevator works most of the time. Or was she referring to a building elevator, not an inside the apartment elevator. So this is the famous "Park Avenue townhouse," that is not on Park Avenue, and isn't a townhouse, at least not a one family townhouse.

I'm sure she had prepared the "You're up here and I'm down there" speech for days.

Lovesnark that is a hilarious post. She has a bunch of people on twitter supporting her too. There are others on Twitop supporting her too saying Carole was totally out of line. I have to go find that post and see what else that loon is posting. If it is Aviva, it will be easy to poke the crazy.

Icy I love your additions.

What is the deal with Reid? Is he closeted or something? Why does he stick with her? He was married before right? I think he would easily get custody of their kids because she is so unstable.

I like Kristen a lot too Icy. I think she is normal. I don't think she is acting. I can see why she bonds with Holla!
