Re watching.

Is that peeling paint on Aviva's bedroom door ?
Look at the back of Sonya's head when she hugs Aviva greeting her at the party. Sonya has freakin' bed head! Harry and Sonya got busy before the party.....

Love her house. How does that work in a townhouse when you only own two floors not the whole thing?

What the f is Ramona wearing in that Candyland dress?

I think when they split the town house the garden apt and the first floor goes to one apartment and the second and upper floors go to the other. You walk up the steps and the inner splits? My sister had a whole townhouse in Philadelphia. It was massive. Down where they filmed Trading Places (from the '80s). I can't imagine owning a whole one in NYC. Aviva only rented it, does she still have her original place and moved in temporarily for filming?

I was just reading at TWOP and I SWEAR this is Aviva! A brand new poster opened a brand new account to post this little gem.

I am in the minority here, for I find Carole's snark bewildering. For full disclosure, I had not been a fan of Aviva until I read her book. It surprised me how witty and delightful it was. Of all the Housewives, she has one of most fascinating story to tell (which made Heather's comment of who she was writing for all the more strange). It puts in perspective what it is was like have a disability, grow up in New York City, be raised by George, have a mother who was raging alcoholic and be married to a lay-about like Harry. By the way, Aviva had a successful jewelry design business after law school. There is much more to this woman than meets the eye.

Back to Carole, she quit her day job 15 years ago where she has has been living off of inherited wealth since her husband's death in 1999. She still is clinging to an identity that is pretty stale by now. Being a writer has a rather low barrier to entry. Isn't a writer essential someone who writes? I was amused when she said in her work product that there would not be a change of syllable unless she approved it. I believe that is standard operating procedure in publishing. She implied that she was more concerned about the a lyrical sentence structure, intimating that Aviva, a woman with a masters in a French and a law degree was somehow incapable of such high art. Is there any excuse for calling someone a "nothing" in their own home? I don't care if she feels that she was provoked.

I must have watched a different show than the rest of you.
Yep, it's Aviva... or Susan Saunders ;)

Not to go all grammar nazi but if that is Aviva I'd say it's proof that she had a ghostwriter for her book. She couldn't even manage to proofread her post for grammatical errors. I've bolded the ones that I noticed.

Okay - I did a search on Twitop and it looks like Mozelle wrote it? and must have deleted it because Jextella quoted it and it only comes up in search under Jextella's post in the quote - not under the original quote. So either one of the mods dinged it or the original poster deleted it. Shades of Susan Saunders indeed! But then you look at her other posts and she seems to be criticizing Aviva so maybe she is throwing us off the track.

Lol.

Speaking as a person who makes her living as a writer, Aviva is dead to me. Dead.

I really understand... don't forget, I'm a teacher. Everyone thinks they can teach because they went to school once upon a time. They have no clue about the years it takes to hone your skills to make it "look" that easy.

Thanks, Dilbert -- I feel the same. Though, to be truthful, she was dead to me after her behavior on St. Bart's last season. She's been a walking corpse. NOW she deserves to be sent to Hell. Or Siberia.

And thanks, Fin -- I wasn't sure if I was going too far with the jokes. ;)

No, Mariah...are they epic?

dilbert, I wondered how you felt about this. I thought Aviva was smarter than that - I can't believe she'd argue that writing a book was like 'writing a long email.' Or that she'd confuse 'editor' with 'publisher.' I thought Aviva thought enough of herself to avoid the embarrassment of exposing herself as clueless.

There's conversation on TWitOP about whether Carole and Aviva may be seen as the same kind of writer, which totally mystifies me and I've never even read 'What Remains.' I know Carole is hard to love for some people but damn, she really did build a second career for herself as a writer and I think that deserves respect. The way Aviva seems to think her co-written/ghostwritten memoir makes her just like Carole, writing for different publications and having now produced both fiction and non-fiction full-length books, reminds me of the kind of disrespect that Sonja showed Heather when Holla! tried to help her with the toaster oven nonsense last season. Aviva and Sonja in their respective situations were so beyond clueless that they maybe didn't even understand how very far they were/are from competing with Carole and Heather.

I really wish Carole would have lowered her hackles and instead of going off on Aviva would have calmly, rationally and thoroughly disabused Aviva of the notion that she (Carole) used a ghostwriter and that she (Aviva) was in any way, shape or form the writer Carole is. Instead she played right into Aviva's crazy and turned what is truly a serious slander into a seemingly petty housewife argument. It appears to only get worse with the previews of Carole grabbing Aviva's chin. Sigh....don't do it Carole!

I get it. I understand being absolutely gobsmacked beyond logical thought by something that is said or done; so much so that you do not act rationally at the time. I just wished/hoped since Carole had been pre-warned, she would have shut the topic down with aplomb. Aviva is not worthy of this angina.

I was not a fan of Carole last season, but I do admire her work and breadth of experience. That she has managed to carry on in a productive way after living through the personal tragedies that she experienced will always make her a formidable and worthy person in my eyes.

Aviva would still be in a heap where she fell, tended to by a cast of thousands if she had gone through what Carole did. She is still devastated/traumatized by the loss of her foot after all these years and the privilege of having the best care and multiple prosthetics that exist.

On a personal note: I cannot count the number of times as an author I have been casually dismissed and diminished by people. Seems everyone in the world has written a children's book or is planning on writing one someday. Yes, anyone who paid attention in the first through third grades can write. That does not make them a writer or an author. Someone on Twitop pondered if Aviva stood in a garage and declared that made her a car. HA!

No I'm not touching Amazon with a 10 foot pole this time. It was enough of a hassle last time. ;)

I know what you mean dilbert. The only thing I'd add is that there are many good writers out there, who have practiced, and written for a long time. Being published is hard, and not always representative of talent, or commitment. Who was that wonderful, well respected author who submitted a new book under a pseudonym, and was rejected by everyone, including their own long-time publisher? I loved them for doing that. Of course, as soon as they were told who wrote it, they were all kicking themselves. They did it to encourage writers. Lovely gesture.

Aviva though, with her "like a long email" was SO insulting, and anyone who has ever actually completed work they are proud of, regardless of whether or not a publishing house agreed, understands that writing is not "easy."
(Except perhaps for that one romance/history writer who turns them out 3 a year or something like clockwork, and leads the field in that genre. Ha.)

I loved what Brian Moylan wrote (it's in the media thread.) I think he nailed it.

I think Aviva did it all just to bait Carole. She's a psycho bitch that way. She provokes people to get a reaction and then plays victim when they bite.

Do you need an illustrator? Dh needs to do that. He is quite the artist but lost most of his eyesight. He can still draw incredibly. If you ever do I'll have him draw something for you and can get back to me. I understand where you are coming from. Like Bethenny thinking she can write the best novel ever!

Thanks ccc, I will definitely keep him in mind. Taking a bit of a hiatus at the moment because contrary to Aviva, writing is not a fun fest.
