Just remembered -- in the opening scene (finally watched) as they are going down those stairs -- Aviva leading so she can trap Carole and prolong the drama -- Carole says to Aviva "you didn't talk to me for 8 months!" -- so Aviva didn't reach out to Carole until the new season was starting and she was back on the show even after St. Barts. I figure she's thinking "why talk to any of them if I'm not on the show? let's see" ... |

Since I only watched half I can only comment that I simply loved Carol going after Aviva and all the comments to her dh and the rest. I know many of you think she lowered herself but I just loved every second of it. It was beautifully orchestrated. She knew exactly what she was doing and that the cameras were there. Good job!! Had she simply walked away - well that would have been fine but not close to as fun as the tiny little comments. She is learning the game. |

She's learning the game or actually losing her touch with reality and joining the ranks of reality. |

Lol andme. I'm with you ccc. I know it would have been better for Carol not to engage with the crazy that is Aviva but I loved it. Ramona stirring up the shit and then splitting was awesome too. But like Icy, I'm over the boo hooing about kids leaving the nest. I thought it was really sweet the first few times we saw that since my own departure to college was basically a set of luggage as a gift and quickly followed by turning my room into an office so I couldn't come back lol. I get it though. I have friends that went through it - particularly one friend who stopped working the day her water broke (literally) and was then basically went through a mourning period when her daughter left home for school. And by left home I mean 20 minutes away to Seattle. ^o) Five years later, that daughter is working a good job but back living at home. To say my friend is annoyed would be an understatement. I loved her skedaddling. And the talking head, "I never meant to cause such a ruckus!" I guess the obligatory crying mom scene is for those viewers who don't watch more than one city. We even get to see Kyle cry on BH this year because she sent Farrah 6 years ago and will be sending Alexia? next year. And next year we will get to see her boohoo again. My mom was late getting me to the airport, so she had to drop me at the curb, and I had to run through the airport and jump on the plane. I almost missed my flight. Those were the days when we probably didn't even have metal detectors. My mother felt so bad. If she cried, I never knew. I didn't cry when my first son went. As my nephew told me, "Just pretend he's downstairs playing XBOX." When my next one goes, I think I will throw a party. Lol, jk...but it's true. jk.... Edited by Finestra, Mar 27 2014, 06:48 PM.

Yep, mine were pretty much, "Write if you get work" otherwise see you during the holidays! And in no uncertain terms did they let it be known that I WAS NOT welcome back in the home after graduation. Visits, yes. Extended stays, no. They had gone through that nightmare with my older brother and weren't gonna go through it with me. Definitely sink or swim with me. At the time I would have appreciate more coddling but now I am eternally grateful to them for that as it set me up well for the life I have ended up living. |

"They" say one of the big problems with today's recent grade and 20 somethings is that their parents are a safety net either for rent or for room and board, therefore they don't fear losing their jobs so much because they don't worry too much about paying the rent and other bills. |

I have friends who can't pay their own bills because they have been paying their kid's bills for years. Can't afford a new car because unemployed 25yr old living rent free in the basement needs a BMW. It's nuts. The kids expect to move out of the folks house and into the equivalent on their own... No starter house or roommates !!! |

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We don't do our kids any favors by never making them work for anything and they won't die if they have to go without some things. When my own have complained about not having this or that I tell them "If I gave it all to you now then what would you have to look forward to when you are old like me?" |

I cried the whole distance of the PA turnpike...from Philly to Pittsburgh. I thought Avery looked , well not good. I thought her eye makeup in particular was way to heavy for her age and her blonde coloring. The dress was cute. I don't really like younger girls in longer gowns, but at least her gown was modern and didn't look like a pageant dress. |

I liked the dress, too, Shopper. She looked so happy and confident. Ramona and LoveRat must have done something right. |

I do believe that the "word on the streets" that Aviva heard about Carole needing a ghostwriter came from JillZ. She is good friends with Aviva and she wants this RHONY to fail without her. |

That's my new catchphrase. I've used it several times this week already. Except no one gets the joke because they don't watch the ho-wives so they just look at me weird. |
