I think New Jersey ratings are good just because they're crazy people- they're all ridiculous (in my humble Jersey opinion). My husband would sit there and read while I had the other housewives on- with Jersey- he's stop and laugh his ass off- and we're FROM here. We're nothing like that, purposely. If I say something improperly, spell something wrong- I want to correct it- I don't want to say "cawfee" or call storms Norwegians- but they LOVE it. Their egos are so big they think everything they do just rocks. It's hysterical to watch- it's like a large, neverending human train wreck...

Yep ranjake. I agree and I've never even been to New Jersey. I'd add that because they really are tied to each other - through history or through blood there is a "real" element there that the other shows just don't have. And of course - the crazy. ;) As far as NJ goes - before shows like The Sopranos and Jersey Shore and of course this one, the first thing that came to mind when I thought of NJ was Bon Jovi and Springsteen. |

Icy no I don't think it was just based on social media. I agree it was a variety of factors however I think it was dumb to dump the entire crew bc they all had their fans. Look you liked Alex and I despised. I never minded Jill. Everyone has their own opinions but they basically made an entirely new show. I think ratings were up last year actually not down but for the reunion.

Really? The reunion numbers were down? That's interesting. For me, the reunions are the best shows! I read something that said Andy feels he should have gotten rid of them all and started fresh. Eh, who knows, it's such a crap shoot! (Pun!) |

I'm being completely honest, this isn't hyperbole or a "maybe" post. I would definitely NOT have watched RHNY this season without the cast changes. It was repetitive, stupid, boring, and completely embarrassing to me as a woman. I couldn't take any more of the stuff that frankly was below the average maturity of an 8th grade mean girl gang. I'd already written off the show, then the cast changes were announced and I knew I would give it another shot. So far, it's not making me sick! (Yay!) The trashy and tasteless factor is way down, and the new women are acting like adults. Lulu and Ramona are still holding on to the past "team" shit, but maybe the new ones will embarrass them into growing the fuck up and dropping that Jill-inspired fake and nasty "drama?" I've paired down my Housewives shows to only NY and BH, and yes, I used to watch them all. NY was on it's very last leg (ha) with me, I could barely get through last season, and it wasn't fun or interesting except for increasingly brief moments. I do think the main reason was Jill, her ego, and her completely fake bullshit pushing the whole "team" thing. I'd already dropped OC long ago, vapid and stupid women with no redeeming qualities. Jersey made me absolutely sick early on, never bought Caroline as anything but a mob-lite wife pig, Dina was the only one who didn't routinely humiliate womankind. DC had promise, but didn't work, was pretty dull, now that they are all divorced, if the rumors are true and it comes back, I might give it another shot. Miami might have been OK except that old cat woman made me nauseous, and so much was more Bravo cat fighting and back stabbing, which is apparently their go-to favorite image of women. Atlanta, which is the highest rated, right? I SERIOUSLY don't get, unless it's the complete trashy nature of women that is the pull? Or maybe it's because it's one of the few shows out there with a mainly black cast? Edited by Mariah, Jul 6 2012, 07:23 PM.

And many decided not to watch obviously because of the cast change since ratings are obviously down. No big deal. I stopped watching Atlanta a few years ago. OC and NJ are watched in the background. Honestly Taylor will probably make me not watch BHs. I just cannot watch her. She's a true criminal to me. |

True. It may be lack of Jill, Kelly, and Alex that dropped the ratings. It could also be that the last two seasons made everyone sick, or that the housewives shows have run their course, except for the super trashy ones that have more loyal fans. |

Same here. You hear that Bravo Mole??? Pass it along to Andy that plenty of people are sick of Taylor and won't watch if she's back. So you wasted your money hiring her for season 3. Get her off my effin screen!! |

I have a really strong feeling that Bravo knows, and we won't see very much of her, and by next year she will be gone. Too "cruel" looking to fire her so soon, but they'll want her gone. |

Where did the Bravo Mole rumor come from? Is this fact or rumor? I hope it's that cute intern Omari..lol He's so cute whenever Andy *makes* him bartend. Speaking of that - so shall we pool our money and bid on the bartender for a night gig...preferably when Clownie is there. what.... Is that crickets I hear. OK. ETA - b/c are and our are two different things...sigh, I'm getting careless - sorry. Been posting more and more using my tablet and it does not have spell check like google chrome does. It is the lack of Jill, Kelly and Alex that made me tune in this season. I would not have watched another season of Jill trying to make teams out of the others. I could take them all in very small doses, but they were shown to us in huge time segments last season. Kelly's crazy, Jill is mean, petty and delusional. Alex tried to compete/step up to the drama, and it didn't work for her. I'll take the new women over the old. I like Carole's candidness. I think Heather is kind of funny. I admire her with her son. I think Aviva is boring now, but she will evidently bring the drama as shown in the previews. ("You're white trash!" about Ramona and Sonja.) I think the show has about run its course. It's not as fresh as RH of Beverly Hills, which is probably a season away from being boring. |

Was it really Jill pushing the teams or was it Countess? I think the Countess wanted B out of the way so she could be Jill's BFF. Jill of course lapped that shit up with a spoon.

I didn't watch Season 1, but I believe at the season 1 reunion Jill was wearing a "Team Jill" shirt. (correct me if I'm wrong!) That seems like a "team" thing! |

Definitely Jill. The Countess towed the line (and I'm still convinced it's because she was afraid of the dirt Jill would spill if she pissed Jill off.) You could tell so many times that Lulu wasn't really THAT into it all. For example, the nonsense about saving the seat in Morocco. Lulu actually scoffed, and "whatEVER'ed" it all. The hanger-gate thing was another time. She certainly played along with it often enough though. "NO DINNER FOR YOU!" etc. It was pretty revealing during the set up for the Scary Island trip too, actually before and after. Jill had obviously tried to derail that trip (long discussions and confirmation of that on the reunion thing) mostly because it was Ramoner's deal, and you could see it when Jill and Lu were discussing it (so rehearsed!) before hand. You could also see that Lu believed them and the PA's about Kelly losing her shit, but then backed down when talking with Jill. Lots of other examples, but those are a few. |

Yeah LuLu did brush off seat gate, but I didn't take that as an us vs. them thing. Jill wasn't involved, it was crazy Cindy. The reason I point to LuLu is she had an ax to grind against B - though they did start out as friends? It was their girls night out when LuLu told B not to introduce her to drivers as Luann. But anyways, she got on my radar by derailing the potential makeup session at Ramoner's. |
