So I rewatched. Not sure that Russ really gave a high five to Reid after his gross comment. It may have been editing

I also think that Carole was better on the rewatch. When she went down to the beach with Heather it was much better this time. I am also liking Heather much more and I couldn't stand her in the beginning! I'm with you girls.

Did Aviva just bring one bathing suit? I still hate her cover up and the brown suit was so boring. If she were such a prude she would not wear a bikini she'd wear a speedo. It was even worse on the rewatch and she was even worse the 2nd time with Sonja. What a pig she is. I'd like to move her over to NJ - that's how much I hate this woman. I also find her unattractive and don't get this gorgeous stuff about her. The camera focused on her hanging at the pool and showing off her flat stomach and it still didn't do it for me.

I thought Ramona - who I don't particularly like - looked beaming on the trip. Where are her wrinkles? R did you get a face lift? If you did it's just fab and please give me you Drs number!

Oh and Aviva - you married a very wealthy man and for some reason he left you or you left him and either way he slipped through your fingers. What a nasty person. It's obvious she carries big grudges since she doesn't want to pay for her son's insurance even if she can afford it. Hey Harry - come on over and we can have some fun. Me, you and Sonja. Leave Aviva in the East River.

I'll add on - I saw Aviva at one of my old friend's parties in the Hamptons on facebook. It was weird. I was like is that her??? Then I was like definitely. I think that must be her UES group of friends and private school compadres. Blech. I won't post who but you can PM me if you want to know. The wife has been on other reality Tv shows.

Ha! Can you imagine Aviva with that crowd. Just JoGo and Juicy would be enough to make her put on her running leg and get back to NYC.

I do not think that being reminded of her husband on that island, or being bothered as those idiots went on and on about small planes crashing into the ocean on islands was over the top.

I didn't think so either - because it was only when Aviva was going on and on and on about how TRAUMATIC it was to fly down there and how harrrrrd it was and how scary flying over water blah blah blah. I'm sure she probably said something about crashing into the water too but we didn't hear it. Then how wonderful St. Reid was, everyone bow to Reid, etc. It's like when someone is going on and on about their haircolor at the same table with someone who lost their hair to chemo. Completely insensitive.

Alex' video blog provided a lot of insight into the whole thing. She thinks Sonja's comment about taking what comes out of her mouth to the bank was breaking the fourth wall -- that Sonja was trying to tell Aviva she wasn't going to look good on camera and to hold back ... but Aviva didn't get it.
Ohhhhh, thanks Icy. I wondered at the time what Sonja was trying to say. That makes sense. Kind of nice of Sonja though. I wouldn't have even tried to warn her.

Perfect analogy Cosmo. I was trying to think of one myself, but you came up with a much better one than any I thought of.

I am not unsympathetic to Carole's loss. And I am giving her the benefit of the doubt that it was the craziness of St. Barts that made her weepy. I am sure the wine aided, as well as Aviva going on and on and on when Carole is sitting there thinking, "WTF Aviva, I lived that and you are only worried about it." It also may be that emotions were running very high, and Carole wanted to cry anyway. I don't think on a normal day, at a normal luncheon where the women weren't hung over and high strung, that Carole would have cried.

But a part of me thinks it became part of her storyline because she wanted the attention back on her. Getting up and walking away and strolling around all alone struck me, IMO, as Carole attention seeking. The plane crash was in 1999. While some people may tear up when they think of lost loved ones, Carole doesn't strike me as that type. She seems much more analytical and frankly chilly. I think writing the memoir probably helped her process her losses. I think Carole likes the persona of a strong widow who has moved on and doesn't like to associate herself with her famous inlaws. It is her schtick. Kind of like Aviva liking to think she is a person who has moved on from her leg injury.

I too have suffered tragic losses in my life - most recently nursing for months a young mother dying a horrible cancer death leaving two young boys behind to live with an alcoholic father (my brother). And nursing my mother when I was twenty years old as she waged a 20 month battle with cancer. And I get that all people handle grief differently. But Carole's crying just seemed a little out of character for her.

I agree with you, Finestra. I think Carole was milking it for the cameras and attention. She also managed to put herself in a superior position to Aviva, which was very easy to do.

I think they're all famewhores. I don't know why Aviva chose to sign up for this show, it's kind of a mystery. She's not a party girl like Ramona or Sonja, and she isn't marketing a business venture as Carole and Holla are.

Aviva is getting ripped to shreds on the internet, for the most part. She's got to have some toughness to be able to handle it. I am looking forward to this reunion more than any other. Hey, did anyone come up with good questions for Andy?

I asked about Sonja's toaster oven and asked Holla why she was so pissed when Bravo was paying for her time, etc. I stayed away from questions everyone else was asking, which it seemed were mostly about St. Bart's.

I think that Carole needed a bit more oomph and that the crying added to the storyline. They probably asked her to mention the name dropping but I'm not sure since I don't know her IRL so don't know if she does this often or not at all. I don't handle tragedy well an it stays with me for a long time. Maybe she's like me. Fin, as you stated, we all suffered tragedies, but how we cope with them varies. I'm more like Carole so I suppose I sympathize with her. Everything stays with me. Doesn't much matter how long ago it the bad things happened they can come flying back in an instant for me. I'm such a sad sack these days.

Icy where did you ask these questions? I must have missed your original post.

This is a really good point Finestra. If for example this was in NYC, Carole could always make a work excuse and go. Or tough it out knowing she could be rid of Aviva et al in a hour or so.

After all, Aviva went on and on about her fear of flying to Carole on a shopping trip when they were shopping together in NYC and Carole quietly reminded Aviva of her own situation and then walked to the other end of the store; probably knowing she would be on the other side of town in an hour.

If Ramona and Sonja are white trash to Aviva, what would she consider the famblies in jersey to be?

I think the culmination of a week being filmed made those last days difficult, even without taking Aviva's drama into consideration. Then add Heather's displeasure, which -- who knows when that came out -- Carole was on overload.

Sonja looks like Heidi going to Studio 54 during Lu's dinner party.

They are unveiling some new talking heads...the red dress TH of Sonja's is killer...good makeup, good extensions - she looks refreshed, like she's off the booze...maybe sobering up in prep for the reunion taping.

I hate that I don't get the East Coast showings anymore. I can't even watch WWHL live.
