If you didn't live in the tri-state area in the 90's when Barbie Girl was popular, you won't know about this, so, I give the best present the NY area ever gave me.

Hoboken for the win!

AWESOME Velvet!! :D

Icy, like I said I do have some sympathy for Lauren; she's got the middle child thing plus Clownie for a mom and her father's fat genes. On the other hand the girl is 24 - still at home, not in school, and not working. She could have her own life - but I'm not sure that idea has even occurred to her. She's just hanging out until she marries Vito and gets pregnant. Because he works in his family's deli in another town instead of for her father at the Brownstone I think she may be waiting awhile.

Sad to say, I sort of get what's bugging Lauren. Her family is her brothers, mother and father -- they've been her whole world before Vito, and he's not the answer to her happiness since he seems to be a meek guy who wants to suck up to her family, rather than helping her make their own. So her family all seems to be cutting her out at least in respect, that something they all consider BIG is told to her as a joke, over a walkie-talkie, and half-assed by her younger asshole brother, who is her constant source of pain.

With a history of a mother like Clownie treating her as second-best, the whole thing was hitting her sore spot.
I feel for Lauren also. But she isn't blind to her mother's faults and as much as Caroline thinks the sun shines out of Albie's ass, Lauren has to know that Lindsey moving in with him is not going to fly too well with Caroline. If the way is was disclosed to mommy and daddy was planned.. the awkward speakerphone comment.. I'd say Albie was probably scared shitless to say it privately and from the 360 degree swivel of Caroline's head I don't think I blame him. Lauren's jealousy of ALbie is understandable, but I think unwarranted. I think the burden Albie carries as mommy's golden child will be more difficult to bear over the years then Lauren's feelings of being overlooked and undervalued will be for her. In reality Caroline's attitude should make it easier for Lauren to break away and strike out on her own, where Albie will always feel a responsibility or obligation to mommy.

Wait, I thought those sibling bracelets meant they were married?

After the huge deal that Clownie has made about being siblings, is it any wonder that Lauren is upset that a big family announcement goes down while she is in the other RV?

I can see Vito running the Brownstone and the two mama's boys skimming off the profits and eating ham. Lauren would do well to move to Hoboken and get her own apartment.

I lived in Hoboken in the late 80s/early 90s. It was a lot more affordable than the West Village where we lived previously. It's a fun, relatively safe town. Perfect for suburban Jersey kids whose parents are afraid to let them move to the big city. It is really an over grown post college town. If Lauren could find even one girlfriend to get an apartment with, she could have a fun nightlife of her own.

One thing I have to give the Jersey Shore crowd credit for is the fact that they go out clubbing every night. Beats sitting at home with dumb and dumber playing the ham game. If you were in your 20s and single, what would you be doing every night? Somehow, get the feeling that the Manzo boys and Greg spend a lot of time in that apartment or at Clownie's.

When I was watching the episode I wondered if Lauren HAS any girlfriends. We've never seen them. Vito started off as Albie's friend. Crittofer has Greg and Kim G's son. But we've never seen any girlfriends over with Lauren. And when I was young ( because ahem, when I was Lauren's age, I already had a profession and a husband) I had friends over all the time. Is Lauren a bitchface around more than just her family and the cameras?

I suspect Lauren was mommy's little tag a long, and they spent their after school time being cheerleaders for Albie and Chris. Caroline was very proud that she never missed a game OR a practice. Lauren had no time for herself.. no we have to go and cheer the boys!!!

Yeah but Lauren is 24 now. Time to get your own life no matter what the circumstances were before. I think 24 was one of my best years.

I don't think they properly explained WHY Lauren would be upset that Lindsey moved in with Albie. I guess it's part jealousy of her brother and part maybe how she had to sleep separate from Vito in the trailers and Albie can do what he wants?

Hey Clownie - Stop Calling them KIDS! They are all grown ass adults. The "kids" don't need help from Joe Guidice.

The more I think about it, the more I believe that Caroline's hate of Teresa comes from babysitting Milania on the ship in Italy.

Lauren resented hearing it second/third hand. I think she's having a hard time making her own life because she has always been intertwined with Albie and Chris. Lauren is the poster child for going way to school. But she would have resisted it, thinking she was being cut out of their lives.

ISH, this is really an insightful observation. And I could not agree more; probably because there are certainly shades of that same sentiment in my own family of origin.

Great points about being single and 24 was and could be. It makes me want to shake that girl and tell her to get out and enjoy herself because tomorrow she will be 45 and the door will be shut. Unless of course you are Sonja or Lulu. :P

I've always thought that Lauren put most of her life on hold because she made her weight such a huge issue - no pun intended. A lot of that I put on Clownie but Lauren doesn't seem to understand that there are plenty of overweight young women living great lives - working and dating and dancing.

Clown 2: The Revenge gets zero sympathy from me. I think she gets more of my ire then the original does frankly.

OG Clown has had 50 years to hone her odious ways. 2.0 is just as odious in half the time. Clown was prego at Lauren's age and married, that is some sort of accomplishment. What has 2.0 done by the age of 24? NOTHING 'cept bitch and be all up on her brother's jocks. We met 2.0 when she was 19 right? So we've 'known' her a quarter of her life. She has done zero in that time 'cept manage to find a boyfriend. She was forced to go to makeup school so I'll give her a tenth of a percent for that, but it was MUA and I'm not knocking beauty school, but she only learned makeup, she was very clear she wouldn't learn how to cut hair or wax chuckies. So her 'schooling' was a month or so tops. And probably for only 1/2 a day at most.

Boohoo the Clown favors the boys. That sucks, but for crying out loud disengage from the family or resign to being 2nd class. And frankly I do think that when she was young Lauren had a good life. Typical rich people problems and I'm just so sick of her bullshit whining.

The biggest proof she's lazy as the day is long: she had lap band (a year ago if the catch about her stitches being wet is accurate) and she's only lost 20 or 30 lbs in that year. I'm rolling my eyes so hard I'm giving myself a headache over here.

And I'll end my rant with this - This Sunday it's Manzo-than on Bravo. You've been warned.

ISH you made a really good point at TW0P about how JoeGo spoke to Melissa in the canoe. He was all "shuddup you" a la Juicy. I think he let us glimpse how he really is sometimes with Melissa.

I think when she's not spread-eagle on the bed or tending the kids or fixin' him up some chow, JoeGo has little use for Melissa. He's probably aware that she's smarter than he is.

I wondered about Lauren and whether or not she had friends, too. And, tbh, I dont' think she has any. Like, none at all. I think her attitude is heinous, and if we only see a brief part of her during these shows, imagine how she must be all the time. Her personality just sucks to me. She doesn't seem fun at all, and she definitely comes across the type to be the sour faced one in a group of friends. You can definitely tell she would be the one side-eyeing the prettier, skinnier girls.

:D

Those scenes were HILARIOUS. Something tells me she could not pull the shit she pulled with Gia on Milania. That book would have been down either her or Cow's throat.
