Just because it's Cow, though, I really do question whether or not Nicholas really does have autism. That may make me a horrible human being, but I can most definitely see her using this as a crutch to garner sympathy. No one wants to be the asshole insulting the woman who just discovered her baby had autism.
LOL! NOW you guys are on board with this. Not to be all Teresa "me too" but damn, I was saying this from the get-go and you guys were ignoring me so I thought, "maybe this is just too mean..."

What bugs me is her concern that she doesn't get any "I love yous" from her son.

Maybe it's me, but it would be more devastating not to know if he understood MY "I love you" to him.

And all Caroline's blatherng about he's perfect, he's beautiful.. Um no. He isn't perfect, and if he were ugly would it matter any less that he is autistic?

I can't take Caroline serious with anything she says behind her laugh-cry.

It's mean, but I thought the same thing too. Didn't say it before cause I was too chicken!! Let someone else test those waters!!!

Caroline jumping all over Tre for her comment about Nick being Audrianna's boyfriend and them breaking up... I don't think Tre was trying to make it all about her. I do think that like a lot of people she doesn't understand autism and if she hadn't seen the kid in a year, she may not have been grasping exactly what had happened. For all she knew he was talking, and now he doesn't. I can see her wondering is it because he can't talk anymore or he won't talk.

Yeah, Tre had no concept. I think that statement was her attempt to connect with Cow over the autism.

Clownie and Christopher playing with him in the pool seemed to be using some of the language of autism. Water is a great soother for some kids and their attempts to have him make eye contact ring true. That being said, the autism spectrum is very broad. If he has lost expressive language skills, then he is pretty severe.

Looky here at what someone posted on Tw0p

I also read some rumors about the senior Gorga's home used as collateral by JoeGo to finance the mortgages for McMansion and shore home. So allegedly JoeGo needs to provide for his parents because they no longer have a home because of their son's greed? IMO I bet that's the real why they don't like Melissa. Like Teresa, Melissa also got the blame for the stupid decisions that their husbands made when it came to their finances. However I can see why the elder Gorgas after hearing that their son bought his tacky BIL a watch, not care for Melissa. I think they all know JoeGo is just not as smart (some may say conniving) as Melissa. The only ideas he gets out of that puny brain are about his poison.

Yeah, I think JoeGo disputed this saying his parents were living in one of his "investment properties" (wink wink nudge nudge) and he had to sell it, so he got them an apartment and is looking for a permanent home for them ... meanwhile, Tree laughed at that and said JoeGo has never helped pay for the parents' living arrangements. I could be remembering wrong.

If Clownie and Chrittofer were playing with Nick in the outdoor jacuzzi (looked like it to me) to help him with autism problems (and what a shock! There's a camera right there!) then they did it so they could say they did. Though he's a boy and we know that counts with Clownie who favors boys, he's not her child and she can only manage enough love for two of her three -- so she has none to spare for her nephews, I'll bet. That was all for show.

ETA: Thanks, Velvet! I was playing Scrabble and used the word Icy and got the idea!

FAS kids usually have specific features which Nick does not. As much as I don't like Cow I would never say that. He just doesn't have those signs. It really takes a lot as well to cause it. Not a drink - not even A drink every night. If that were the cause half of Europe would be inflicted.

As for autism that is the problem. There are so many kids who are responding just fine and then boom they just disappear verbally and in other ways. It's so sad. That is why they were trying to connect them with shots. Normal children, then they get the shots, then they don't relate anymore. I delay my comments on that since nobody knows what really causes it and it's so sad. It's probably overdiagnosed these days but it still sucks.

I assume that at Nick's age he is in a special preK. He's not an infant. So I doubt that Cow is sitting at home the entire day with her kid sitting around her although I did that lots. It taught her to play alone and she didn't need any special therapy. Since I don't know I won't say. The entire scenario makes me sad for all of the kids not just the rhonj. I just can't snark on this.

You know, one other thing: the people who post regularly at Bravo seem like ... well, not brainiacs. However, the crowd at TWOP and here seem smarter and more demanding of logic -- and not just because I'm in them, LOL. I didn't know, but I'm not surprised that the Bravo posters think Tree is in the wrong.
With all due respect, I think that's unfair.

Remember. Those 'smarter' posters at TWOP were decidedly anti-Bethenny. Is it fair, then, to say that since the posters here were more pro-Bethenny, that they were less logical or smart?

I wouldn't ever say that, though, because I know Bravo can magically help everyone change their opinions in over the course of several weeks.

You just never know. There are two more parts to the NJ reunion. By the time they roll out of the Borgata, Teresa may be the most universally hated housewife EVER. LOL. And the posters at Bravo will be crying about how poor Tre is being ganged up on.

Oh, sorry, Rye. I base my comments on spelling, grammar, using full sentences, staying somewhat in the neighborhood of topics -- all problems I've seen at the boards of Bravo when I did go there. I am definitely prejudiced and I apologize.

However, I don't think anyone isn't smart because they don't like Bethenny. Some very (seems to me) brilliant people can't stand her at all.

FET kids usually have specific features which Nick does not.
Velvet or other IVFers. Did any of you read that and think "Frozen Embryo Transfer" kids??

I'm thinking, like what specific features? Cold noses? LOL

Lil Rye was a Frozen Embryo and the only trait he might have gotten from that is he loves ice cream. :)

While it's possible Jac is crazy enough to make something like that up for attention, I don't think she has. You can't look at all autistic kids, nor even talk to many of them and know.

About 1 in 88 children has been identified with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to estimates from CDC's Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network.

THAT is scary. Just a few years ago it was 1 in 200. So, yeah. I'm inclined to believe Jac. Only because the odds aren't really in anyone's favor in that regard. And because I want to believe she's not that jacked up.

Oops I meant FAS = bad typing. I'll go change. I did IVF so it must have been in my head and it just came out that way. I'll add though if you look it up FAS kids usually have odd looking eye shapes and other features. As you said you can't tell an autistic child just by looking at them although unfortunately they don't just look at you most times.

OK...and I was the only one disgusted by her "I swear on my child...my autistic child!"

And Lauren suffers from FAT syndrome.

Thanks, icy. I can't stand Teresa, although I did have a pang of sympathy for her last night. (For about 10 seconds - the length of time she was able to keep her mouth shut.) My wittle fee-fees were hurt when I thought you were insinuating that because I don't like her that I was stoopid. :$

And I do agree about the spelling, grammar, etc. at Bravo. (As she starts that sentence with a conjunction...)

When Mr. Ryebread starts nagging about how often I'm posting on message boards, I tell him that since I'm not working anymore, it keeps my writing skills sharp. Ha.
