You know, a Fendi bag is just such an odd thing for an 11yo girl to even want. Her friends won't recognize the name Fendi, won't know it's an expensive designer. Now maybe Gia just liked the purse and the brand didn't mean anything to her but most girls that age are getting into Abercrombie and Hollister. They'd be more impressed with stuff from those stores. |

Yeah - and it's old school Fendi to boot. But Gia is truly her mother's daughter and i can see her wanting to carry it b/c Tre told her it was expensive. |

Shopper, just because Melissa posted in her blog that she had an offer to teach doesn't make it so. Willy, I think a normal 11 y.o. wouldn't like/care about Fendi, but around this area we have a very high end mall. It has had a Fendi store for a long time. I know Tre shops at that mall because when we saw her at her Fabulicious signing, she told us that she shopped there. I would imagine that Tre pulled it out and said, "My First Fendi!" and told her how expensive and vintage it was. The middle schoolers around here have all sorts of expensive wristlets and expensive clothes. The tween/teen specialty shop in our town has Pinc, J brand, So Lows, Free People etc geared toward kids and teens. Kids like Gia want unique stuff - it is just another symbol of wealth and being fashionable. They buy their freaking make up at Sephora - 12 year olds! It really makes me sick. By the time they are in HS, they all want to go into NYC and shop in Soho. Way too cool for school. No wonder all their parents are in debt. |

When I was Gia's age, Jansport backpacks were all thr rage. Now it's Fendi and Chanel and Lv. All Gia needs to know is that it's expensive and she wants it. I invasive that she and her friends know the big designers. Down in S. fl where my parents live, kids carry crap that I can't even afford. Nothing like comparing yourself to a 14 yo to make your day. Cow doesn't look much thinner to me. It's those huge fake tits. She would look much better with proportionate boobs. That would just leave her face as the most objectionable part of her body, and that's nothing a paper bag won't fix.. |

Lol Oleander - I couldn't figure out what invasive was supposed to be! There is a town somewhere - Montana maybe? that just passed an ordinance that fines the parents if their kid is a bully. I think they limit bullying to the over 16 crowd. |

I'm glad I don't live in one of those places where the kids would know a Fendi bag from a Walmart one cause I'd be broke! |

LOL. Abercrombie and Fitch was all the rage when I last looked. Fendi lovers must be a NYC-local area thing ... maybe? Probably just that the outlet is nearby, as Fin says. |

The ostentatious materialism and the spoiled brat entitlement are the two reasons I hate where I live. Although I do love my home, neighborhood, the commute etc. The level of discourse in our schools is very high mainly because people move here for the schools and make sure their kids do their homework and are tutored up the wazoo. BUT there is so much pressure - academic pressure to achieve. The clothing is out of control. My older daughter is happy to go to Forever 21 and buy her junk there. She goes to thrift stores to buy old mom jeans and then makes hipster shorts out of them. She learned very quickly that you only go to Kids at Heart when they have their 1/2 of sales about 5x a year. My younger one is beginning to get caught up in the label/store thing and we are putting a big kabosh on that. But you go to the Short Hills Mall and you see moms wearing low-rise skinny jeans, high heels and LV bags walking next to their teenage daughters wearing the same thing. Yuck. Parents suck. |

I finally watched. Same ol' shit, different year. It's kind of depressing to watch, or is it just me? (Obviously, just me!) I just don't get it, there is not one person to like on this show, Tre gets it by default for me, because I fucking hate gang mentality, and I feel like she is very limited, and has made the most of the tiny slice of IQ and education she has. Is there anything at all fresh about this show? It seems like Bravo loves it's "let's watch families deteriorate" and "see stupid women and their petty issues." Well, why shouldn't they? After Atlanta, this one is the ratings diamond. |

Jacqueline and Chris Laurita are doing an Autism Fundraiser in Toms River, NJ tomorrow night (the next town over). It's to benefit one family with an autistic child post-Sandy- but it looks slightly sketchy- and my spies who know everything claim they're getting an appearance fee. Will let you know if I find out more- but obviously I'm NOT going. |

Ranjake, I hope someone warns that group to take the money raised immediately, or they'll never see it! |

People who grift from people who need help make me so mad. It's too the point where I only give directly or to organizations that give 100% of what they collect directly to reputable hospitals or labs, schools, etc. |
