In the preview for next week Lauren says something like she wanted an engagement ring for 3 years and now she's just over it. I don't know if she meant she's given up that she'll ever get one or if she's done with Vito.

Or if means she's over waiting for Bravo to give her a wedding so she can be the center of attention or at least noticed by Clownie.

If she's over Vito, fine but she's not going to meet anyone else in her mother's house. IIRC, she only met Vito because he was a friend of Christopher's so the lazy girl didn't even have to leave home to get a boyfriend.

Didn't Clownie once tell Andy that she didn't really even want to do this show but her "kids" really really wanted her to do it? I totally believe that.

I noticed the eyelashes and the nailpolish too. If those scenes weren't totally staged/fake I'd be super nervous about the anesthesiologist.

Who was that friend though? Do tell - any info? She looked old enough to be her mother and we got no background.

I could be wrong but I think the woman friend with Asshat was a friend of Jax's, not Ashley's.

Yes - this is how I took it too. The Friend arrived WITH Jax when they went to great Asshat in the waiting room.

Probably the friend who had the surgery with that doctor, too. What makes me nervous is the surgery IN AN OFFICE. Shit, I'd insist on a hospital!

As for the makeup -- why remove nail polish before surgery? As for the lashes ... I guess if he's not working on the face, why take them off .... actually, if there was an issue and she was comatose, they'd have to take them off to be able to check her eyes and not have them flaking into her eyes - so she should have been made to wash her face before surgery.

I read I think on TWoP that Asslee looks different now. Different how?

I saw the preview or ad for the epi and Jax was wearing epic layers of slap for surgery. So bizarre. I think it's possible she's the vainest Housewife. Is it true that one of the tats that got cut off was on her neck? I didn't realize the Cow had been inked.

The anaste. needs to see your nails to see color or the like - I'm not a dr. but whenever I had surgery (I had wrist and elbow surgery) they said to make sure no nail polish. I was told nothing about make up actually. Even when I had the baby nobody told me no make up and you could have needed a c section and they didn't wipe off your make up. I'm sure that could be googled as to the reason but I do think it's to look at color of the nails regarding to blood pressure and other little ditties. Let's go ask Mr. Heather.

I didn't know she was tattooed either but I would probably be as vain. National TV with no make up. I put makeup on after I had my kid in the hospital and then my dad takes pictures of me and the baby and gets my still inflated belly in there and sends it out. Argh I was so hormonal and angry and cried.

Icy, I'm pretty sure elective cosmetic surgery is always performed in the doctor's office. They have full surgery suites and generally you go home within hours. Often they have agreements with nearby luxury hotels where you can recuperate if you can't go home.

The nail polish thing is when a patient is under a general anesthesia the anesthesiologist monitors something with your nails. . If you show up with nail polish usually they will sloppily take it off - or that was my experience 20 years ago when my then roommate went for a boob job.

I can't imagine why anyone would wear full makeup into surgery though unless they were really that vain and stupid. Oh wait.....

They probably staged those scenes on the follow up a week later. Not sure how they got the pic of the removed skin but maybe the doc took it to show Jax. Yikes.

ETA: Oops, ccc beat me to it.

Camo's mention of Zumba in the Move Your Ass thread reminded me of how much I liked the Zumba segment last night; everyone was into it (well, except Jax of course) even Juicy and the kids. It's almost impossible to wear a bitch face while in a Zumba class - well except Jax of course.

That scene of Zumba and you guys talking about it the workout thread got me wondering about it now. I'll have to look for a class around here.

I also saw Jax's makeup. And was positively grossed out at the triangles of skin they cut off her. Omfg, I almost vommed. Maybe it's because I used that Palmer's cocoa butter and my skin came right back to where it was before (except I'm fatter) but I don't know if I could do a surgery that involved cutting skin and sewing it back together again with chunks missing. Gross.

Oh, and my moment of being mean and vain and just all kinds of wrong.

Caroline really put on weight. They showed her from the side in a tight dress. I always thought she wore spanks but then she allegedly got the lap band and lost weight, but no way she still has the band or she ate it to exhaustion. She was really big in last nights ep.

Asshat just bothered me because she thinks or is trying to portray that she is so perfect now. Oh I'm not ordering a drink at dinner; I can't believe my mother is doing plastic surgery etc. She did look better. Who was that friend though? Do tell - any info? She looked old enough to be her mother and we got no background.

I think Lauren gets her scene next week. Half of my previews cut off. I guess I need to pay more attention but it's just too hard. I liked the scene with Gia and Jo too. I don't think she's a beauty but she has beautiful eyes and insight. Can't imagine if one of those kids fell onto that marble - oh another storyline. Lady control your kids no matter how entertaining they are.
I imagine they'd bounce. Those girls are tough little cookies. We've seen Audrianna trip and fall - hard - and we've seen her get pummeled by Milania. A two year old is tougher than me.

I like that Teresa's girls are tough and aren't treated like delicate flowers. She may dress them up in horrendous bows ad nauseum, but she lets them play - almost old fashioned. I think her girls will all have confidence in their own abilities. And that is a gift. Whether by neglect, default or stupidity, I think Teresa has set her girls on the road to being self sufficient and independent. Honestly.

You know those silly things that went all around by email and now you see them on Facebook: the lists of what we used to do as kids vs. what kids are allowed to do now? Like "I left the house at 10AM and came back when my mom called for me at dinner time at 6PM and she didn't know where I was all day" and "we rode in the back seat without seat belts" and "we drank Kool-aid" ... As if we're just too cautious now and life was more honest back then ... instead of the truth: that kids died because they weren't belted in and children disappeared or were hurt without their parents having any idea and got sick and fat with rotten teeth from too much Kool-Aid ... but those were "great" times, right?

I agree, Finestra -- Tree is raising her kids without the over-excessive caution that a lot of people have for their children now. And independence may be a good outcome. But since children learn by example, turning a blind eye to Juicy's shenanigans and over-spending and flipping tables are also lessons they're learning. I don't see any of those girls ever moving so far away from their parents, as independent as they might be. I don't think they'll be as bad as CTRII, though, they'll get jobs and probably go to college, but none of them will be doctors or lawyers or engineers.

I guess I do have a good impression about her as a mother, but not a mother who wants more for her children than her own ideal of what happy is: a wealthy husband, a fabulous house, gorgeous children, and a lifetime of taking care of her elders in the "wifely" role.
