I usually make them with chocolate chips or sprinkles.

The purchased cannoli shells are really good - I don't know who would say that, I get the Ferrara brand at the fancy schmancy Italian Deli in DC. The ones I see to make usually use wontons, I don't get that at all.

Firstly I enjoy a good cannoli (don't disown me Velvet). Just something about that giant cannoli w/ those greazy men wheeling it out just turned my stomach.

AHHHHH! PENNMAC! A Pittsburgh institution!

Waaaaaahhhhhh - Momo how I miss the Strip District. Sigh. I know I know, all you big city cats have your own bigger versions, but damnit since I moved to BFE I can't get good cheese & meat to save my freakin' life.

Weirdly enough I found a place in the food court of the mall (of all places) that made a hell of a cannoli. The cannoli was so good that I kept going back even *after* they also served me a raw fried fish sandwich during lent. That tells you how good it was - and you could buy them one at a time. Alas they recently closed up shop - must have served one too many raw sandwiches and one too few cannoli's.

Man it's an embarrassment of riches today. I get home from work and I have to check here of course to see the delicious snark, while watching Tre on Wendy and trying to read the Clown's blog. I truly am embarrassed of myself.

I missed the end of last night's episode so I don't have a clear picture of what went on. I'll have to rewatch, but a quick glance showed me Jax trying to parent Gia. SMH really?

I caught the "she's mean *as always*" comment. I immediately went to Gia regurgitating what she hears at home - There was a scene last season when Gia piped in about Missy always controlling the Fidget.

I also found the Gia bra shopping to be cute. I do think Gia likes camera time - she brought the conversation up with Tre on camera for a reason b/c even Tre was surprised. She's old enough to know what you do on and off camera.

The Clown - where to start - I must read her blog as soon as I'm done with this post. In the preview I just wanted to jump through my screen when she was throwing shade at Tre and the Clown's bro. She said something like "look at her over there [insinuating herself in our family]." Of course it was a voice over, so I will reserve judgement. But I find it funny that the gay bro (who was seen often with Dina NOT the Clown) is also very friendly with Tre. He is seen hugging her in the preview. That got her Clown pants in such a twist. I love it.

PS - On Wendy she did the same recipes from the Today Show. By the by, the balsamic green beans, just meh. That large ass canoli looked really nasty. And Tre needs to back off the mystic tan. She was almost as dark as Wendy.

I'm just going to put it out there. That cannoli looked like a huge, cream-filled penis...

Oh I ignored the men. That don't do nothing for me. The cannoli was where it was at! I would have face-planted into it.

OK so I'm watching the repeat now - Jax and Clown are dead to me. So is Fat fuck Lauren. Her little rant in the kitchen about how she wants to just be with her family and how she's tired of the drama and "this one and that one crying" and how if it was just her family it would be quiet and peaceful. Bitch please. I have gone from ambivalence, to feeling sorry kinda to downright hating her b/c she's just an vile person. No wonder her brother had to take her to her Jr. Prom. Mini clown indeed. Vito better leer all he can at various cell phone pictures b/c unless he dumps her lard ass he's destined to become Al Jr. Living in an apartment over his parent's meat store.

Gia has a smart mouth (I had one too - she's only going to get worse before she gets better, I shudder at the shit I said to my mother from ages of 10-16) Her telling Jax to go outside should have been enough to get her popped in the mouth - but by her mother, not Jax or the Clown. And they were antagonizing a 10 year old. How is that for lowest of low. Then Jax started reading the book and I just about died - and she chased Gia with the book when Gia got up and went to find her mother. I am just appalled at the whole lot of 'dem.

That was jax's expert parenting on display on display on display.

LOL @ Fat Fuck Lauren.

I don't understand how Caroline doesn't watch these shows, and see her with her ugly mug and curled lip and constant bashing of Teresa and go, "holy mistress batman, I have to cut the shit!"

Making cannoli shells is WAY too hard for me. Even my MIL said it was a pain in the ass- and she made homemade braciole. You can buy perfect cannoli shells at a good italian bakery. My husband's family recipe has mini-chocolate chips or shaved chocolate- and I LOVE cannoli cream made with ricotta. I have seen the filling with the (green) candied fruit- but I'm all about the chips. I'm getting starving for a cannoli!

Teresa "writes" a helluva blog. She claims she doesn't read the other HWs blogs and I kind of believe her because I don't think she likes the whole black and white thing. I think Melissa scours Tre's blog each week to see if she gets mentioned. It must goat her to no end that Teresa didn't mention her this week.

I love saying "goat" a la Camille because it combines "goad" and "get her goat."

Don't worry - we'll hear about it when she reads her list of grievances off her Iphone at the reunion.

Speaking of which - they started taping memorial day (or the week or so before b/c the billed it as 'summer' ) and they are ending up sometime this fall (when CE started taping). So does that mean we will be getting a short season? I hope not. I believe we are on episode 6. I'm hoping for 18 episodes.

With this crew they could get 18 episodes out of a week's worth of film.

From your fingers to god's ears Momo. Cause after NJ & NY we go back to BH and I'm just not that big a fan...don't get me wrong, I'll watch it b/c I'm Bravo's bitch all day long but I think I'm burned out on the 'intricacies/minutia' and trying to defend my posted opinion while watching them. Made it no longer fun. I'm approaching BH with caution this season.

ETA - Miami has to fit in somewhere. Maybe it will be pared with BH?? Maybe that will be fun, it's still East Coat (my wheelhouse).

I wish they'd get off Lauren's weight already because this whole focus on it makes it like she can't go on to have a happy life until she loses the weight. So this is the excuse for no job, no life, not being social?

THIS nails it for me Velvet. And I could tell her from experience that stupid extreme diets will only result in boomerang eating and you will lose the same 20 pounds forever. Meanwhile it sounds like thinks she will lose the weight on an liquid egg white diet and her life will magically get good. That's all she has to do to be "super rich" and have her own business, and lots of friends. Until then she will be a horrible hungry girl I guess.

The Great First Son and Failed Law Student Albie didn't have to take Lauren to her prom because she was "chubby" Like oleander pointed out - it's because she didn't have any friends - which has NOTHING to do with weight. On a side note, who goes to their prom with their brother?

I was SHOCKED that something like 73% thought Jax and Clownie acted appropriately towards Gia on the WWHL poll last night. Because like Gia, I thought it looked like two assholes torturing a child while she's having a meltdown. That was waaaaaay over the line. I have renewed sympathy for Ashley. I was anxious to come here and see if anyone of you guys agreed with me and I am so glad to see I'm not crazy.

I started reading Clownie's blog as recommended here and am amazed she repeats that she was "tiny" her whole life. Maybe next to Big Al she felt tiny but I've been watching this show since day one and she's never been "tiny" except in showing compassion for her daughter. This passage is interesting - especially the "not antagonizing" part because that's exactly the word I would use to describe what Clownie and Jax were doing.

CLOWNIE: I don’t care whose child you are or how upset you are; you do not look an adult in the face and tell them to be quiet, mind their business, and get out of the room. Especially when they are not antagonizing you.

I expected a landslide in the other direction, too, Cosmo. I think sometimes those polls just FAIL to be accurate. I notice Clownie kept her blog very brief ... she's feeling the pinch! I couldn't make it through Melissa's. Now I need to go back to read Tre's.

I really can't bash Gia. I think she is going through a hard time. I truly think that people who have grown children forget how hard it is to control your melting down kids. The kid is 10 years old and has a family in turmoil both financially and emotionally with all of the fidget nonsense. She loved JoeGo. This has to be really difficult for Gia to deal with.

Why didn't Caroline and Jax just leave Gia alone to vent to her friend? Their whole storyline revolves around Teresa, to the extent that they need to go insert themselves into Gia's meltdown. And I am sure by this point Gia has heard plenty around her house about how terrible Caroline has been over the cookbook.

Caroline is confusing tiny(short) with thin. Caroline was heavy season 1. She may not have been fat, but she was overweight. I think she got the lapband too and just isn't admitting it.

Caroline has been reduced to trying to intimidate a 10 year old and failing. Why if she hates these people so much does she continue to participate? If she has a contractual obligation to appear on screen with them fine, but no one can force her get into confrontations with them. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a big glass of blk water and STFU.

I think Gia was upset that Zio Joe cheated and that it was after they had the little heart to heart about his relationship with her mom and that he assured her that things would work out and that she could trust him. Then he turns around and cheats right in front of her, she was probably thinking if he cheats in a game, why would I believe him about trying to make up with mom?
