Someone else used this painting in a contest and I noticed how much the little girl looked like Gia and the idea was born! |

I'm watching the reunion now and I am so ready to get my Clown hate on, hardcore. I do think that CE has helped me forget how loathsome I used to find Tree. I think I'm going to root for her this season.* *opinion subject to change of course. |

I think I will root for her too, just because of the way that Clowny and Melissa with her little cell phone list of grievances behaved at the reunion. I don't really care if Teresa schemes against Melissa. Melissa signed up for it. And if Teresa can out-scheme her, then she deserves it for being so stupid so as to be out-smarted by a numbskull like Teresa. |

I want to punch Clownie in the face every time she says "Tick, tick, tick..." in the previews. |

This morning, at the butt crack of dawn, there was an epi of Jersey that I'd never seen before! Imagine my excitement! An episode I'd.never.seen.before. Lil Rye almost didn't get a well balanced breakfast today. So much for my mother of the year title. Although per Caroline, that really belongs to her anyway. She was obnoxious then and moreso now. Dina at the pig races. LOL. So awesome. I miss Dina. And Lexie. Both delightful. But I respect Dina's decision to get off my tv and to cut the cancer that is Caroline out of her life. (although that's a little bit sad.) And whoa, Caroline. She's changed a LOT from the first season. Lost weight, gained some eyebrows. Teresa lost her two-head and gained some bubbies. I hope this season isn't all bitchery. It was fun to see where it all started although I had to turn the channel when Danielle was parading her man-body around the pool talking about how her daughters are her best girlfriends and she confides EVERYTHING to them. Hot mess. :X |

Watching last season with my new Tre colored glasses on and man, this is tough. I'm pissed that Bravo isn't playing the whole season in order. They did like 4 episodes today and then more ATL, OC and then NJ tomorrow. But they aren't doing it in sequence up to the premier of the new episode b/c they've also got part 3 of the ATL reunion to show. But anyways, they are on Friendsgiving and while 'redone house' doesn't fly off the tongue, I don't understand what the big deal was for Melissa'a house warming card. |

I saw a preview of next season and it looks like Dina is the only one who is on Tre's side. I am sure she is only a 2 minute snippet at her brother's wedding. I don't know if I can take a season of Tre pile-on led by Caroline. Don't think Teresa is a great person, but I had a gang bully. |

Me, too. I am not a big Tre fan, but all of those yentas attacking is just gross. The same assholes who had me supporting that douche, Danielle.

That's the thing, as much as I already hate Clowine and her crew if they do a pile on that criminal Tre like they did Danielle and I end up feeling sorry for Tre I will be really pissed. |

Agree with you guys. I loved Tree in S1, hated her in S2 for her shit-stirring, and then really came back around in S3. I'm on her side solely because of the pile-on and because I really truly believe that Melissa was just jealous when Tree got famous and she didn't bring Melissa and Joe along for the ride. Also, because I'm not there in their lives, I have to say that relying on someone with a sound opinion like Dina is almost all the proof I need. The good thing here is Tree can defend herself whereas Danielle couldn't do so without guns, bodyguards and general drama. Can't wait for tonight! |

Oh GOD. I flipped to Bravo to see what was on. It was Jersey and I was treated to the Joe sniffing Melissa's panties scene. I almost barfed. |

I can't stand this one, or Atlanta. Maybe my feminist side is coming out but I am seriously beginning to detest these shows that paint women into these shallow, bitchy, insane, low life, back-stabbing shrews. Has anyone seen that incredible documentary Miss Representation? http://www.lhup.edu/news_releases/2012/miss_representation.htm It was so good and I loved the panel discussion Rosie had on her special about it last year. Seriously wonderful to watch the girls and women discuss the effect media has on all women, and it used the Bravo shows as some examples of how perception creates reality for real women in real life. ANYWAY. I liked Dina. Never could stand Carolyn, or her denial about mob connections with her husband's family. Jackie was outed as a Vegas call girl way back in the first season by some pretty credible sources, but nothing ever came of that in "big" media. I don't really care how she made her way, I honestly have nothing against hookers, and she seems so stupid I can't fault her much. She is a seriously horrible mother though. Teresa seems borderline retarded, I'd be shocked if her IQ is much above 92. Another crook, with a crook for a husband. I do pity her at times, because I think she is functioning at about the highest level she can reach. UGH though. This whole thing really is Soprano's "light" and I guess that is the appeal for some, but I just don't get the popularity of it. It's just so sleazy on every level. That is not a judgement on anyone who watches, more of a serious question. WHY is this popular? WHY is Atlanta? They are the top two housewives shows, and their women are just UGH. More than that though, I question why they are so popular with (primarily) women? What is it that makes us want to watch ourselves portrayed as such stupid, money grubbing, nasty reflections. Does anyone really KNOW women like this in real life, or see these qualities in the women they know? Is it partially that whole thing about "just because they have a big house doesn't mean they are any better than me?" Damn, that sounds so judgmental, and I really don't mean it that way, I am just so curious about why it appeals to women. |

For what it's worth mariah, I DON'T watch these franchises for precisely the questions you've raised here. I don't know women like this in my personal life. I wouldn't WANT to know anyone like this. Along these lines, I also never understood the popularity of shows like Jerry Springer and Rikki Lake, with all the histrionics and glorification of white trash "values" (which is a term I use loosely). I remember running into Jerry Springer once in the lobby of Chicago's John Hancock Building. My revulsion was so instantaneous and so.....HUGE.....that it's amazing I didn't throw up on him. |

It's Judge Judy's voice that causes instant revulsion for me. ;) That's the other thing, we also have these Judge Judy or other shrill, know it all, bossy women on the flip side of the housewives shows. (that blond money person, and the one that fixes beauty shops are two more examples) Apparently those are two very appealing different sides of the coin. Either the dumb bimbo or the "smart" woman who is a pushy bitch. Sorry, feel like I highjacked this thread. Orange county isn't much better. I guess I kind of "get" the NY or BH appeal because those are two iconic cities in the USA, and there is/was some very serious money involved, so it's fun to get a peek, in spite of the women acting like idiots.
