WTF - didn't she say she only needed to loose 30 lbs when she was with Perricone? Now she says 65. I'm done with that miserable bitch. Cheat cheat cheat - i can't believe a doctor would agree to do it vs. tell her to get off her lazy ass and exercise something other then her sour puss. |

30 pounds in 9 MONTHS? Doesn't seem like a really big weight loss- or very fast. I try not to lose weight too fast when I "go for it" but even I can usually manage 1-2 pounds a week if I'm diligent and seriously dieting. She should be careful she doesn't eat her way back with that band on- my cousins' husband did. A lap band is only a tool- not a license to eat everything. |

Did she even TRY to lose weight? Seriously? I have no problem with ppl getting any sort of weight loss surgery, but fucking TRY. Jesus Christ. Don't be on a diet for a week, decide you love food too much, get surgery and then brag about how skinny you are. This miserable bitch is just insufferable. |

O that's what I was sayin!!! She didn't even try. And the reason I judge her for not trying is because she's in her early 20's. Losing weight in my early 20's was a piece of cake. Uh, no pun intended. But seriously. The high I got off joining a gym and working out was great, and then when it works, you have actually retrained your body to respond to healthy habits. I knew it when I saw her arms. If she lifted a weight one time she'd be more toned than she is. I'm getting on my Judging Box and I ain't getting off. |

Okay, the twitter war begins...people are asking her about it now. Tweet to Lauren: on the show it's portrayed you went on a diet, why go for surgery when originally doing it right? Not being rude, serious? ?? Response from Lauren: struggled my whole life- began to effect my health- tried everything Another Lauren tweet: I work out 2 hrs every morning and eat healthy- recently loosened the band and losing the last 30 on my own Another tweet: be REAL..why Lapband? You didnt want to work off the weight? Was is medically necessary? her response: work out from 6:30 am- 8:30 am mon-Friday- I don’t need u telling me I’m lazy- I was having medical issues his response: defensive much? I asked if it was Medical.. was that "Medical" reason stated in the mag? Funny u need that for insurance... |

After my brain went dead reading Lauren's twitter, I clicked some people who she's following. Lexi Manzo was one - I didn't realize Lexi was a "Manzo." Her dad wasn't a Manzo, he was Greek. She must have changed her name? I would have thought she would change to Dina's maiden name, but I guess she went with her now-married name? Anyway, all that aside, Lexi is amazingly beautiful. https://twitter.com/?category=people#!/Lexmanzo |

I dunno Velvet - but Lexi looks like every other girl from da shore. Like the kind that walk around handing out tshirts from a cannon and free samples of redbull. Weight loss is hard, but I always thought that lapband was last resort...and if you are in your 20s and otherwise healthy (taking her word for it from the show) there is no good reason why you can't loose weight..especially when you are 1/2 petite Laurita jeans..teehee.. At least the NJ tax payers didn't pay for it via the water authority state insurance they all had. If there is a God the doctor who performed it will sue them for non payment. It's hard, I get it - hell I live it, I get it, but in your 20s..Shut the front door with that bull shit. Edited by Shoppergal, Jun 13 2012, 10:39 PM.

Lexi's beautiful- cool that she still is in touch with her cousins- even if the parents are not speaking. |

I thought lap band surgery is only performed on people who are obese and can't lose weight by dieting and exercise. Is laziness a medical condition now? Yeah, that's a long term solution - I give her a year. |

Shopper - really? The shore? LOL. I clicked through her photo stream on Twitter and her face is very pretty. She's Dina's daughter though so we know she has half good genes at least. What I don't get is how Clownie and Dina are related. Yikes. |

I think I'm in the other camp re the general argument of "try everything else first" -- she knows she has that body type, those genetics to be predisposed to extra weight. Lap Band is not a solution forever at all. But if it's the tool she uses to get there, better in her 20s (as long as she does maintain) than in her 30s when she's exhausted and demoralized (esp. with Clownie for a mom) and it's "too late" for her to have some fun in her youth. She says she exercises two hours a day then says she's on the run from early morn to late evening. Not mutually exclusive, but I find "2 hours per day" IMPOSSIBLE to believe. Hopefully she doesn't put a ton on with pregnancies. I completely understand the women who never want to have children and risk that. They're losing out, IMO, but I understand the fear. ETA: However, I find her a complete SHITHEAD for LYING ON THE SHOW. You stupid bitch. Edited by IcyAll, Jun 13 2012, 10:53 PM.

I think it's the toothy grin, the highlighted hair and the posing...reminds me of all the tenniboppers from the shore...granted she's on the prettier end, but still kinda ordinary IMO. Now Grandma Wrinkles...there's a looker.

I think Dr. Oz is reccomending lap and now with the same reason Icy. He thinks obesity is like a cancer and if surgery works, then do it. |

Well, maybe they'll create a surgical procedure that changes eating habits and lifestyle. Like Velvet said, I'd like to know how long she tried diet and exercise before having the procedure. I doubt it was for more than a week. She probably lied about starving herself while eating boxes of Oreos at 3am. |

I don't think the surgery is all there is to it, but if it helps someone jumpstart and get to their goal weight, so they have something to fight for, more power to them. There is nothing more frustrating than losing the same 20 pounds over and over and never getting to the final 30 or more ... But look, even people who lose a lot of weight and get "skinny" can gain it back. Once the body has adjusted to being larger, it likes it and it's very easy for it to go back to that. That's why I think doing something "drastic" when you're younger -- before you've got a lifetime or even 10 more years of self-loathing and failure to weigh you down mentally as well as the physical burden, is probably the way to go .... then more power to ya! |
