Why don't they just fine the hell out of him for what he did. Jail time seems silly for that.

Excellent idea. Or how about some other forms of punishment that would make them nuts?

No Italian food for a year? Tree has to shave her hairline? They have to drive a 1970s Gremlin.

Oohhh...even better...they have to clean houses!

That's a great idea but the guy is broke - so they fine him and then he is already in bankruptcy so how does he pay? So he gets away with everything. I do agree it's silly to send him to jail but he is a criminal.

But how is he NOT a danger to society. He had his license revoked for a reason and if he gets back on the road, his driving habits (and drinking) put everyone else at risk.

I think the DWI is the real concern. I am surprised he doesn't have the blow meter in his car, that he has to blow into in order for the car to start. If it detects alcohol, then the car won't start and the violator gets a fine for trying to drive after drinking.

That would be an excellent punishment for him and protection for society, Finestra.

My friend at work (who, along with her friends, sadly, has so much experience in this) says that there was a way they got around that - they just got other ppl to blow in it for them. Genius in its simplicity. Disclaimer - no clue if getting around it is that simple, I'll just take the word of my friend who has undergone many, many interesting experiences. If he did have that in his car, though, how long do you think it would take him and Tre (or, really, any of the RHONJ howives and hosbunds) to figure out they just need to get someone else to blow in it?

That's why I think he needs public humiliation instead. A crappy car with "Drunk Driver" printed all over it.

I like 1000 hours of community service. Picking up trash on the side of the road in a bright orange jumpsuit.

I thought the newer ones snapped a photo of the person blowing as it was activated. Maybe not though. Frankly, it is something they should probably have on all cars, blow to drive. It would probably cut down on a lot of drunk driving fatalities.

I don't know. I feel like stepping on my "punishment should be an eye-for-an-eye" kind of thing. Jail in my mind is for people who are dangerous to society. Why don't they just fine the hell out of him for what he did. Jail time seems silly for that.
I agree. Especially when the likes of Lindsay Lohan has eleventy thousand infractions on her rap sheet and has spent 32 seconds in jail.

I like the idea of community service - cleaning up the turnpikes, parks, etc.

Some of it- a little jail time vs. a lot- may depend on what he admits to. Tree always says "He didn't do it. I know he didn't do anything wrong". I would imagine Juicy is going to have to come clean if they have in their possession an actual license with his brothers' name and Juicy's picture on it. I would imagine he's not going to be allowed to drive for at least 10 years. Lindsay Lohan is lucky she didn't get busted in NJ- they don't play. They get very pissed at people who try to bypass the law. I do feel really bad for the little girls. I know a lot of you seem to feel they're getting great parenting, and I think they are loved, but I don't think they get a lot of calm routine and stability. It really breaks my heart for them.

hah too funny Finestra.

Ranj I agree with you 100 percent. They are loved but seriously the parenting has been not so great. Go back to the way they acted in the store seasons ago or simply them buying whatever they want. Add on all the magazine shoots which Gia can read --hey maybe Gabriella can read now too - she should - isn't she older than Melania - who should be just about reading as well at 6 but we're talking about the G's here not the brightest in the bunch. I never see them emphasizing education over fame. Even with Gia it's all about dancing, gymnastics etc which is great if it's an extra.

Gabriella seems like a self-sufficient child, who would work at school to learn to read. Plus, the grandmother is there a lot more than we're shown, I believe, and she could be spending time helping the girls with school work.

What we see is when they're filming. I hesitate to believe it's that sort of frantic atmosphere the rest of the year. I hope not.
