willy - I noticed she did the same recipes at least twice this last book tour, but I chalked that up to her not being so smart. I think her handlers knew her limitations. the emphasis for this book was fast and fit and both times I saw her cook the chicken and balsamic green beans she's also given the nutritional information - fat, calories, portion size and even WW points. She did that w/o notes so I think they figured master one dish vs. switching it up on the dummy.

I give her credit for being a decent cook - remember that big meal she cooked last season - I think it was the family portrait episode. There was so much chaos that I remember us all commenting on how when they finally sat down the first course soup had to be stone cold. I remember that meal looking really good as did her thanksgiving meal. Are they her recipes..hell no, but I don't think Kathy's are either. I would say Kathy is probably a good baker - but that stuff she cooked at goddess night looked kind nasty and it was all brown and wilted.
I wouldn't have batted an eye if she had pulled out a note card with the nutritional info. on it. I wouldn't expect her to know any of that off the top of her head. Not only would I not know it, I wouldn't know how to figure it out either. But I think if these are her recipes and she really does cook them and all of that jazz, she'd be able to make more than one dish when asked to.

I don't remember her cooking during the family portrait episode. Mostly I remember her kids acting like hellions while she was trying to get her hair and makeup done.

They showed Kathy cooking not too long ago (can't recall what the episode was now) and they showed her chopping up onions or something and she chopped like someone who cooks a lot.

I don't know why I notice these goofy things, but I do.

Lauren must be following Jaq's business model, which is to scour beauty magazines and retweet their tips as your own. I have no doubt Caroline can cook (judging by the size of her offspring alone), but she needs to up her game if she wants to compete with Tre in that field.
Caroline patronizes the finest Italian delis in Northern NJ. Remember the big bucks Chris L dropped in that place for provisions on poker night? That's the stuff Lauren shovels down her gullet. Salami, provolone, pepperoni, mozzarella etc. Add in a few cannoli and napoleons, zeppole and other pastries.

Willy -You may not remember it, but I'm pretty sure Tre has put on at least 2 big family meals last season - that's two more then I have so I can't knock it. I remember thanksgiving and then I remember a big dinner around the kitchen table with nicely set place settings and the soup that looked like it had been out for ever waiting for folks to come and eat.

ISH - don't forget the Clown's foray into 'southern' food when she cooked chili and cornbread and proceeded to insult the whole chili eating population b/c it doesn't smell as good as Italian food when cooking. Bitch please.

Yeah I don't get how that happens, I was sending someone a message in Facebook the other day and suddenly there are ads all over for it.
Until I was educated about the "NET". I marveled at odd coincidence that ads for random subjects I had researched suddenly appeared on other websites I visited. I happened to mention that fact with a group of friends who were much more computer savvy. They LAUGHED at me, a lot. Then educated me on just how the WWW works.

LOL. I like that!

I worked for a professional chef once and recall him laughing when he read the ingredientses for another chef's dish that included "Lawrey's All-Spice" ... I think that might have been from Sylvia's in Harlem. You know, why actually MIX herbs when you can buy them in a plastic gallon?

I'm pretty sure Teresa can really cook- but I think caroline can probably cook, too. Italian MIL's usually insist; I got weekend cooking lessons; mandatory, though I enjoyed them. My husband LOVED my cooking- and my kids do, too. Not that it's anything all that great - just that most people DON'T cook all that much- and we always had family dinner together- and I cooked at least 5 nights a week. Not judging anyone- I know it's impossible for lots of families.

eta: OMG! You've NEVER seen camel-toe like pictures posted of Teresa today!!! She's wearing 3 different 1-shouldered jumpsuits- and she's got labia majora, labia minora, and a couple labias they haven't even named yet! Get some panties on, Tre!

Ranjake where are those pics? I don't know why I'm hankering to see Tree's camel toe today but you have piqued my curiousity.

Ikea Swedish meatballs. LOL. Love it.

I don't think anyone will ever claim to "love" my cooking. I do what I can to get by. I'd like to get better at it but it seems so much easier to eat out when I want something more complicated.

Here is video of Teresa cooking and stumbling over the names of her recipes. She's using a knife that's way too small to cut up that onion and since she's in her own kitchen, she has no excuse for not having a proper knife to use. I also found it funny that she's using what look like 2 regular forks to toss the salad. She doesn't have salad tongs? Oh, and if her straight off the boat Italian family throws such holy shit fits over store bought sprinkle cookies I just can't imagine the repercussions Teresa must face for chopping onions with a Pampered Chef food chopper FCOL. Her poor mother must have bitched her out good for that one!

On a side note, I wish we had Ikea where I live. I don't get my meatball fix very often. :(
