Really Icy - he said that? What about for a tiny boned person? Not that Lauren is tiny boned. I'm 5 3 too.

I am tiny boned. My wrist is barely 6" around. Isn't that considered tiny? When I in HS and my thinnest, my ring size was 5.

Gee, sounds like Lauren gave the same amount of dedication to the lap band as she did with her makeup booth.

Maybe the lap band didn't show her respect?

Sounds small to me. I think my wrist is about 5. I always have to take out links and get child size bangles Rings were small but last year got a little bigger. I don't know my size anymore. Peri M sucks

Ranjake, old people also fall asleep easily - you can steal their pocket change!

It was my Mom and some of her friends- it was a hoot- but they were gone by 8:20 and they all were saying how they're up sooo late! lol (but they all like to get up at 5- they have this weird competition about who can get up the earliest). I had them all over because they wanted to watch "the Help" on demand- but they talked through the whole thing and drank all my wine! All of these ladies have more $$ than God, and not one of them would spring for HBO :)

I had a size 5 ring finger when I got married- everyone acted like that was CRAZY small (now it's a 7). But I'm NOT small boned- I have HUGE feet... my wrists are little, though...

ps- I DID serve them Bethenny's shrimp cocktail :) I actually make it a lot- and she does it in Martini glasses- but I do it in little sea shell dishes. They loved it- it is really good- refreshing- it's layers of chopped cucumber(from my garden) chopped avocado, pink grapefruit, plus shrimp. It wowed the ladies :)

Ranjake - sounds like a fun bbq. Not to lump them all into one group, but I find the majority of old ppl (late 70s and older) can be quite entertaining. Something about being old and just not giving a fuck anymore..

That shrimp cocktail sounds really good. So the grapefruit goes well with the shrimp? I would never thought to have paired them together.

Lauren enjoys eating, and she likes to eat fattening foods, without more support from mom (serving lighter fare, making sure fruits and veggies are available) she will struggle, because she feels she is depriving herself. Clownie in her bulldog way is trying to make Lauren do it all on her own.. if she wants fruit salad, she should make it herself, if she doesn't then she isn't serious. But I feel for Lauren, who wants to sit there with a bowl of melon when everyone else is having pastries. I know Lauren has to have willpower, but if Clownie laid out a dessert spread that featured low calorie fruit salad and jellos as the centerpiece with a handful of mini italian pastries , it might give Lauren a boost. That said, no way Lauren works out two hours a day.

I'm loathe to say this....but I sorta agree with the Clown on this one. Here me out....Don't write me off.

Lauren is a grown ass woman. If the Clown is cooking for the family (granted they could all stand to loose some weight) and it's high cal food - or their normal food - why can't Lauren waddle over to the stove top and make her nutritious food? Ditto with having fruit and veggies readily available. Why can't Lauren go to the grocery store (either by herself or with her mother) and pick out what she wants. It ain't like she's got other things to do with her time. The onus should not be on the Clown to provide Lauren with healthy food at this stage in the game. Yeah, they could as a family decide to have a healthier meal every once in awhile, but I don't see why they should have to change their habits for someone who's already proven that they have zero self control.

Now, the flaw in my argument though - and I acknowledge it - if Crittofer or Albie decided they wanted to be healthy the Clown would bend over backwards to accommodate b/c they are the princes.

Yup- I've been making it for at least 2 summers- it was a Bethenny recipe- from her website- I have these little clear seashell dishes- and I layer avocado on bottom- then grapefruit- then cuke- and 4 butterflied shrimp on top (she chops hers, I think) so it's cute- green/pink/green/pink- and then I serve horseradish sauce on the side- everyone loves it- but I serve it icy cold...

I've done it with crab or lobster on top, too.

Totally agree, in the end the onus is on Lauren. But as a mother, a woman, someone who should be supportive of her daughter, the same way I'm sure she makes sure Fat Al's, Albie's and Critofer's favorites are prepared and served, you would think Clownie would have the kindness to have a fruit salad for her daughter. I recall the shopping trip, when Lauren wanted something special for her then diet and Caroline refused to buy it, I can easily see her refusing serve fruit as an option for everyone, forcing Lauren to prepare and eat it alone. Let's face it, when on a diet no one wants to sit amongst people stuffing themselves on the good stuff while you sit with a Tupperware of fruit salad.

At almost any gathering now, people try to offer low calorie or lighter dishes, considering how health conscious people are. As you said, Lauren is a grown ass woman, she needs to own her food choices, that doesn't man she couldn't use the support of her mom, who by the way could stand to substitute a fruit salad for a cannoli on occasion. Losing weight is tough, having someone who is actively cheering you on vs sending "let's see how long this lasts" vibes makes it tougher.

Ideally, Lauren would do well to get out on her own and become her own woman, and leave Clownie to wiping kitchen counters and sticking her nose in Albie's love life.

And considering that Al's had lapband...and Clownie possibly has....and one of the dork sons is a tubbo, it would do that family good to eat healthier.

I think there's more to this thing with Clownie and Lauren. I don't know, but I sort of think Clownie doesn't want Lauren to be successful. I don't know why I think that, but it struck me as odd when they went to the restaurant/diner and Lauren ordered a fruit cup and Clownie said all nasty, "a FROOOT cup?" And Lauren had to defend the fruit cup and her choice to not have liquid egg whites.

Step away from that for a second and think about when Atkins got so popular but the idea that you couldn't eat fruit or vegetables went over people's heads until someone publicly said something to the effect of, "I can't eat a cup of raw spinach salad but I can eat a steak with a stick of butter? Something's wrong here!" And that's how I felt about Lauren's stupid diet. She set herself up to fail, you can't do a dumb ass diet like that no matter how famous and 5th Avenue your doctor might be.

So much like I think Rich Wakile has a crush on Teresa, I also think another show secret is that Clownie secretly despises Lauren.

I think you are on to something there Velvet. It's not uncommon - someone at every Weight Watchers meeting has a story about a mother/husband/wife etc that starts bringing home chips and eating pie when the Weight Watcher starts losing weight. And I 100% agree that deprivation diets - especially something as restrictive as chugging egg whites only result in greater weight gain after the inevitable breakdown/binge.

That, and Clownie is a bitch and not in a good way.

Do you think Clownie has always resented having a fat daughter? Since Clownie herself was always TINY.
