HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. This is the group that posted so proudly in front of BLK Spiring Water, so I guess we couldn't expect too much from these losers. Also scrolled through some of their fb nonsense - sweatpants for $68??? Yeah, no thanks. And how can they spell receive wrong? Didn't they do their invitation on the computer? Do they not have spell check? Or perhaps they think the red squiggles are just to make things look pretty. Edited by oleander, Apr 8 2013, 03:19 PM.

That inspired me to look up some reviews of the spiring water. This is so rife with misspellings that it had to be written by a Manzo/Laurita, right?

I just hope she's really doing the right thing. I'm not like some- I can see in his eyes that he "turned" autistic- and you can bring them back(to an extent)- if you're lucky:) like we were. Jake is not neurotypical and "cured" aka the Jenny McCarthy crowd- but he's so smart- and he's going to do a lot of things! He gets to stay in this fantabulous high school until he's 21...and then he's going to COLLEGE :) But when he was 3? (he was diagnosed-regressed at 27 months)? If you saw me on a reality show I would've been a greay-haired blabbering idiot- spending every SECOND some professional wasn't with my Son doing ABA, or Speech Therapy, or hippotherapy (speech therapy on a horse- sounds CRAZY- is AMAZING- we still do it). I tried EVERY single thing- until it clearly worked or didn't. Hyperbaric Oxygen chambers? Yup- did that, too. We spent MY whole Nursing salary plus our great insurance on autism "stuff". I took him to San Diego; we took him to the UK- we tried everything and i'm glad we did. You don't have time to be at events hitting Guidos (I'm allowed to say that because John was one :) over their heads with your shoe! She can have an autism platform- but she's not a Miss America Contestant or Michelle Obama. I hope this is her real life's work- and I doubt it. I for some reason trust her Husband more- but I think he's tainted by the reality thing as well. I don't HATE her- like I really am beginning to hate Melissa Gorga- I guess I just think Jacqueline is sort of stupid- and Nicholas really needs more NOW. Sometimes all the $$ in the world is not enough to retrieve these kids to communication- Dan Marino :( I'm NOT trying to be judgemental because this is a GUTTING experience- i totally empathize. Maybe she's drinking Bailey's so much because she can't deal. But somebody needs to deal now. The first seven years are your big window- that was in '97 and it's true now. She just turns me off. She's NOT smart- and anyone that dismisses every criticism to "haters" just turns me off. I don't need Jax to work for me- luckily. I still do it on my own. We are sort of stagnant- it is what it's really going to be- which is really just helping this amazing, beautiful Boy adapt in the World-and he keeps learning everyday- just differently. I to this day subscribe to something called "The Schaeffer Autism Report". on my internet. I get it the first thing when I wake up; and it has EVERY article on autism in the world press from the day before. Great tool- but then I have to evaluate and see what we will try. Maybe I'm not the most stable person NOW- but Jacqueline? This isn't a photo op ... Edited by ranjake, Apr 8 2013, 04:33 PM.

Totally agree with you Ranjake. You're right, you are in the throes of it and what you're doing by reading everyday and trying new things is so different from what she's doing - tweeting for a bit here and there and then going to dinner. I wondered what the real people out there who are dealing with this issue with their kids think of someone like Jax because of course she only retweets the ones where people praise her. And I think we saw evidence of her piss-poor parenting skills with Ashleeeeee. |

So far the real autism community does not think much of her at all- probably comparable to John Travolta/Kelly Preston- who would never admit Jett had Autism while he lived. Holly Robinson/Rodney Peete- put in real work. We'll see how she does- but I guess the main complaint in the Autism community (I'm most involved in Autism Speaks- not really for any specific reason- just that's where I started) is that she's using it as a platform for herself. Rumor is (don't know it's true)- that she's never, to this day- contacted POAC- which is THE autism resource in NJ- and excellent- and that she's never attended a POAC workshop or seminar. And to me you HAVE too! She is NOT above this- you have to learn to teach them- it's the first thing you do. And she and Chris (and any Aunties, Uncles, and Cousins) that want to teach them have to go, too. Rumor is she's not even on the POAC rolls. And there ARE autism Mom's (I haven't seen Dad's) that use their children as photo-ops. One is still a FB friend of mine- but only for her daughter. It sadly does happen. I want to see what she DOES with this this season- because if she's concerned with ONE other thing? It'd better be the older Boy. Maybe Ashlee-ey. If she's doing the work- forget the rest. I doubt it- but let's see how she does. Just so you know all this stuff I'm posting is rumor and hearsay from a messageboard- but maybe she'll surprise us. |

Ranjake, she is not you, and she will never, ever, come close to doing what her child needs. Isn't the kid just a marketing tool for her to sell "Blackwater" now? BTW, did you ever read that book I mentioned? The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Posted Image I really wondered what you thought of it, and how true to experience it seemed for you. I feel like I learned so much from that little book, and I just hope what I learned was pretty accurate. Mostly the admiration for these kids, and the "who is the disabled one, them or us?" After seeing the world through the lead character's eyes, it felt like "we" are so behind them. I really admire what you've done and continue to do for your son. He sounds amazing too. Ranjake and Finestra....bless your hearts. {{{hugs}}} I bet Cow would show up at one of the POAC seminars/workshops if they had complimentary Baileys and trays of cheese and prosciutto. Edited by discomom, Apr 8 2013, 06:57 PM.

I really feel for Jax's older boy. I think a sibling with issues puts the whole family dynamic into flux and impacts the role of the typical siblings dramatically. |

Yes, and considering how she cast Ashleeeee off to the side when she married Chris, it does seem Jax is incapable of balancing her kids under normal conditions. Poor kid. |

When I said I felt for Cow's older son, I have the feeling that he is not getting any sort of therapy himself to help deal with the emotions he must be feeling about Nick. Fear, anger, resentment, jealousy that Nick is getting all the attention at the same time feeling protective over him, pressure to feel like he needs to be good or perfect bc Nick has special needs and he doesn't. I can't see Cow understanding that Nick's autism impacts everyone. |
