I would hate to think that, too, but I kind of wouldn't be surprised. I think Jax wouldn't even really understand how that would not be great behavior or in her son's best interests. I would actually be surprised if she mourned more for any difficulties Nicholas faces *more* than she mourns her own sadness and how she's impacted.

I don't think Jacqueline gets in any way how intensely self-centered she is and how that isn't a great perspective when you're caring for dependents. She treated Ashleigh or howeverthefuck she spells it now as an enemy-combatant and then demonized her on TV for her disrespect.

She's kept it a secret until now?

We see the ups and downs of her life on Bravo’s hit reality series Real Housewives of New Jersey. But raising a child with Autism was something Jacqueline Laurita kept secret-until now. While participating in the 6th Annual Rescue Our Angels fundraiser, the leading national organization that provides hope, information and immediate treatment assistance to families affected by autism spectrum disorders, Laurita sat down with The Trending Report for an intimate conversation about Autism and how it changed her life.

I wouldn't hate to think it about Jax. I think she's not capable of much else other than demonizing one kid and making an autism diagnosis of the other one to keep her in the limelight. It seems to me like her maturity stopped somewhere in her early teens and she's just not capable of much else than what we see.

I would hate to think that Jax is parlaying her son's autism into a moneymaking or attention getting career for herself.
To me it's pretty obvious that's exactly what she's doing and I'm not even a little surprised.

First, if it's actually true that this was some sort of family "secret" then why put it on TV now? Answer: With first Dinyell and now Asshat gone, Jax needs a storyline. I suspect this is true in her real life too - she needs to be about something because she is so vapid and boring on her own. Plus she was on thin ice not that long ago with Andy when she blew off the reunion. He couldn't fire her because they were in the middle of filming another season. This season she needed something bigger than sleeping while Clownie and Tree pounded on each other.

No more calls ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.

She only skipped the reunion because she knew they couldn't fire her. If that had been hanging over her head, she'd have been there. She's a drama queen in search of a meaning.

Icy I think they told her not to come because she is a lunatic drunk with no impulse control. Look at how she tit for tatted with Teresa this year.

He IS autistic :( but all of this stuff she's doing (not MUCH) looks really fringe-y not only not mainstream but shady charities. It's normal to research and at least contemplate a variety of different things; but she seems to be going about everything completely ass backwards. Any help this Boy is getting will be from his therapists- not her. Really hate to be judgemental- but it's pretty hard to watch. As far as I can tell she's involved in nothing mainstream in NJ or nationally. This is hard for me to watch :( It's funny- I do remember a couple of Mom's getting all into themselves and their "me" time ; and they were the ones in denial- and who didn't really get results. It makes me so SAD...

Ranjake I agree. We have a situation (actually 2) in my family where the parents were in total denial about ASD and were happy to hang their hats on ANY other diagnosis that a pill would cure. It wasn't for me-time (which I think Jax's may be) but more of denial of the severity of the condition. One is lucky in that their kid has better coping skills and is probably merely highly functioning aspergers. The other is not so fortunate, and now the boy is older (turning 21), is on serious medication for conditions that were probably misdiagnoses from the beginning and still can't function on his own - at all. It is only now that his parents are willing to say that he "may" have aspergers. Heartbreaking. His mom is beating herself up over it because IMO she is thinking of all of the missed opportunities for consistent therapies. I want her to look forward and let go of the guilt. You can't change the past.

I am hoping Jax has him in the right therapies. Early intervention is so critical. Hopefully he has skilled therapists and she really is just drinking and tweeting all day while the therapists do their thing.

And there are so many more therapies now, Finestra, as I'm sure you know- than when your 21-year-old would have first been diagnosed. (and when Jake was diagnosed). I'm really afraid she's too dumb to get it...

Catching up on my Wendy watching. Tre was on sometime this week. The new houswife was featured in on pregnant in heels with rosthie pope. The two of you all that watched that show besides me - do you all remember when Tre showed up at one of the prego ladies' shower? Well they are truly friends and that is the new howife. I remember really not liking her so we shall see. They showed a clip of the new season and the guys break out into a huge brawl. Not sure if it's the one where the Cow welds a stiletto. Can't believe Tre has her 4th book out.

Funny you mentioned Pregnant in Heels. Just to tell you how fake that show is - they hired one of my friend's kids to be in one of the episodes. Not much is real in reality TV. I actually didn't know that they did that. I figured they would use real kids and have them sign a release. They actually cast it.

Shopper I don't think we can expect to really "like" any of the Hos they cast in Jersey. ;)

Melissa. "Please stop trying to destroy our family" for all that is holy or some such horseshit.
