Okay, on the Brandi vs. Wakile thing, Oleander nailed it in her comment for me. Richie and company are constantly making jokes about other people, Brandi seems to reserve her vulgarity for herself. Brandi's not afraid to make herself look bad or stupid, whereas Rich and company have to make everyone else look bad and stupid to feel better about themselves. Of course, if I was a stump like Gorga with a matted brillo pad for hair and a probably tiny penis, or had no shoulders and girly arms and a chin that goes straight from chin to chest with no discernible neck like Rich, I'd probably be suffering some esteem issues too and maybe taking down everyone else is an ego boost. Rich's comment about Gizmo the mouth breathing Gremlin's friends utilizing their meal plan? Hey asswipe, have you looked at your fucking wife in the last few years? How about a little respect for women - something I think Rich doesn't have in the least. |

I was trying to think of a way to say the same thing. Brandi's crude remarks are usually directed at herself or something she would do. Richie and Joe are just creepy and sleazy. Never outgrew trying to get a peep into the girls locker room or up some girls skirt. |

I had an uncle (now passed on, thank goodness) who was a sleazoid like Richie. He took his sons to prostitutes when they turned 18, so they would have sexual experience. He came on to my aunt (not the one he was married to) and brought his son in the room where my mother had gone to nurse one of us kids (early 60s) on some pretext, but really so the kid could cop a look at Mom's breasts, she thinks. She was totally skeeved out by him.* That's the kind of vibe I get from Richie. Anything he says, even "I'm going to the store to get some milk" becomes a nasty comment that makes me cringe. *BTW, my aunt his wife blamed my mother for wearing shorts. Said she was trying to get Uncle M's attention. That's how guys like this get away with it. Kathy's as much to blame for how Richie is as anyone. She could lay down the law -- she doesn't want to. |

You are so right, icy (and ugh to the skeevy uncle who turns breastfeeding, the most normal and natural thing in the world into something disgusting). I call bullshir on kathy being bothered so much by it. What, after 30 yrs shes bothered now? How sad that she didnt lay down the law when her kids were born. Now she has a son who grew up thinking it's okay to make comments like that.. And, velvet, you're right -neither kathy nor Victoria are skin. This family needs to go away. |

LOL. My underwear just got misty reading that one. BRILLIANT! FUCK YOU CLOWN!!! (Rye: that is my example of me being vulgar a la Brandi. Had I said, "I bet all you's panties got all sloppy and wet and you's just waiting for someone to come slurp it up if they can find it amidst your fat rolls - just tell 'em to go for the fish smell" that would have more like a Richie comment. |

That was such a good question! I agree with Velvet. For me, Brandi doesn't skeeve me out at all. I was thinking about this last night after you posted that. WHY? For me, it's probably because my girlfriends and I talk the same way, just open and joking and frank. She doesn't say anything that sounds dirty or pervy to me. As someone said earlier, it wasn't graphic like "bloody tampon string." That whole thing with her kids just seemed completely normal. I think my niece saw mine once when changing into bathing suits and asked me--so I just told her. My sister was big on "natural" with body functions and it was completely no big deal. Swearing doesn't bother me at all, it used to, and then I moved to LA. In LA "fuck" is more frequent than "the." It lost it's luster as a swear word within a month or two of living there. GUYS talking about women that way bothers me. Talking about going down on a woman with a period is just a level of detail you save for private moments with a girlfriend or two. It's hard to explain but when Brandi talks about her boob job, there was nothing sexual about it, it was done in a matter of fact way. A bunch of slobbering men talking about boobs does skeeve me out, and it would even if they were all Chippendale dancer pretty. Velvet said it better. |

Oh sweet fancy Moses, Velvet! I am both amused to the point of laughing so hard I am crying by your Richie-ism and appalled after having read it 'cause I could hear his voice saying just that. There is a fine line between vulgar and repulsive. Bette Midler, in her old stage acts, used to ask everyone "Are you ready to get a little vulgar?" and then she would tell some Sophie Tucker tales. Vulgar yes, but funny, because there was wit and intelligence behind it. The New Jersey group take the vulgarity right over the tipping point to repulsive. There is no humor, it is not funny, because they do not have the intelligence to be witty. |

I think one reason Kathy seems so over Richie's comments is that before she became a NJHW, his comments weren't broadcast on TV and she wasn't being "judged" for them. She is also making her own money now. Substantially more than she did before, and her kids are growing up and will be out of the house soon. She sees choices she may not have seen before. She doesn't have to "settle" I still think of all the men and despite his behavior in Napa, Joe Giu is the least chauvinistic. He does his share with the kids and while he may be unhappy that he is no longer the major breadwinner, he is clearly proud and supportive of Tre's accomplishments. He seems in a much better place this year, less drinking (so far). I put my money on their marriage holding together and while there may be difficulties, I think they are generally happy together. |

OK...this is from April...but why would Catface have an event at the Brownstone? Doesn't Catface have a store? Also, I thought the people at the Brownstone didn't show her enough respect. And....the Catface website is still "coming soon".
