This is from yesterday's Montville Patch

Quote:

While no sale of 8 Pond View had closed as of early Wednesday afternoon, the home there owned by Melissa and Joe Gorga, cast members on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," has a buyer at the full asking price of $3.8 million, Us Weekly reported Tuesday.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a publicity stunt - either by Melissa and Joe or by some fame hungry buyer who plans to back out during attorney review.

you are probably right Fin. Who doesn't bargain either? Full ask sounds ridiculous in this market. We saw how cheaply it was built. God I hate McMansions. They look so absurd. Wonder what it costs to air condition Tre's or Melissa's house. Bet them owe money on the electric bill.

I went on Realtor.com http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-search/Montville_NJ and that would be the highest priced house on the market right now in Montville. Not to be snobby or anything, but I wouldn't pay 3.8 to live in Montville. There are much nicer towns with much better schools where you could get a beautiful home for $3.8.

To me, this is funny. It is the eternal struggle at the Jersey shore. Beach tag nazis vs. beach goers. I have a hard time believing that Tre and Joe don't have season passes which cost about $20 (if you buy them before Memorial Day, they are 1/2 price) or it si $5/day per person for a tag. In Ocean City NJ they have squads of Beach Tag scouts who walk in a line down the beach so no one escapes their wrath.

Out of 30 people the "beach girl" chose to approach Tree and Juicy? Sounds like she recognized them and wanted the drama. That said, I don't agree with paying to use a beach, esp. $5 per person, because GOD GAVE US THE BEACHES ... ;)

Beaches are free here in California, and we have a lot of them.

The beaches are $10 a car per visit or $30 for a year pass here in Washington as are all state parks. That's only been the last five years or so. The legislature passed it as a way to avoid shutting down several state parks.

The Juicys are dum dums. They should have just shelled it out to avoid this exact kind of publicity.

The video won't load for me.

Can I get the reader's digest version?

I'm thinking the Juicy's refusal to pay shows the grifting ways that are deeply ingrained. It's the "everyone else has to pay, but we don't have to" mentality.

I think you are exactly right Shopper.

Basically, the family were with 30 friends/family when a teen girl beach worker asked to see their badges and the Juicy's "flipped out" and yelled at her Eff You and Fuck off we aren't paying. The teen started crying and the cops were called. Eventually they coughed up the $5 per person fee.

The video is of the entertainment reporter talking about it, not a film of the incident itself.

They were there with 30 people. I bet only some of their guests didn't have badges. They have been at that beach all summer, the beach tag people are there everyday, all day. They would have been nabbed long before this. And it doesn't say, specifically, that Teresa or Joe were the ones fighting or cursing. Only someone in the Giudice Family. Although I could see Juicy saying F U, we have been here all f-ing summers and now you are fucking with us? But as you guys said, they should have just paid and not made a scene. If Tre or Joe did yell at the kid (which they usually are) then they were stupid. But it just as easily could have been one of their guests.

Okay, I have given it more thought. They were at Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island, LBI for locals. I bet they were at a different beach than normal, so their beach tags didn't cover it. Where we go, the beach tags are good for several towns. But on LBI, each town may have a different tag. Maybe the towns don't cross-honor tags. I would find that hard to believe since so many people go to LBI and visit each other on the beaches, but the beach towns are really nazis about beach tags.

I had no idea about this in NJ. In the ridiculous Hamptons you can get a PARKING pass for $350-500 for the season - I don't know how much it costs this year. The beaches, however, are free so there is drop off for anyone and everyone who wants to sit on the beach even if you own a house on the beach you do not OWN the beach. It's free and public. So what you are saying is that you have to pay just to sit on the beach there?

Yes. Pay to sit. Only the water's edge is free - the actual ocean. And I guess on LBI each little town (and there are a ton of them) probably have their own beach tags.
